We just got back from a week at the World and I am so totally in LOVE with the Disney chefs. If you or your child has any food allergies, please know that Disney does a wonderful job in handling such issues. My son has severe anaphaylactic reactions to eggs, milk, cheese, soy, and peanut products. It was priceless to see him be able to order and eat out at a restaurant and not have to worry!!!! I don't care how over-priced the meals might have been....each chef came out to the table and fixed us what ever he wanted. I didn't have to worry about cross-contamination as they have a separate part of the kitchen to prepare the food for allergy customers.

I am extremely over-protective especially when it comes to his food...so this was a big step for me. It was perfect and he loved it!!! We ate at Crystal Palace, Boma, Tusker House, Askerus, Liberty Tree Tavern, and Sci-Fi Dine In...they all were wonderful for him!!

If you are interested in photos, I have many uploaded to my website:
www.bloomphotography.zenfolio.com They are under the Nature/Travel section.

Please let me know if you have any questions about dining with allergies...I would love to help ease your mind!:goodvibes

I totally agree! I only have one anaphylactic allergy and it's to shellfish. But, to me, it's the same feeling - the freedom of not worrying if you're going to have to use your epi-pen or not. It's awseome. Outside of disney I have to avoid some buffets, all chinese, japanese, and seafood restaurants. It's so great to go to disney and be able to eat chinese food! It's like the treat of the year for me.

The disney chefs were awesome with me too. Actually coming to the table and asking what I was going to order to prevent cross contamination. this is one of the reasons I love disney so much.

We had a wonderful experience at about 30+ Disney restaurants with DS's egg allergy. Plus it's a real treat to meet the chefs at each restaurant who handled everything and often made special desserts for him. At most restaurants, they just made whatever DS wanted whether it was on the menu or not. We rarely eat out at home because we don't trust the restaurants, but at Disney I was certain about DS's safety. Some of the best I remember were Ohana, 1900 Park Fare, Restaurant Marrakesh, Yak and Yeti, and Narcoosees.

I would recommend posting on the disabilities forum. They are terrific with food allergies and what to do while at Disney.
Many wonderful people there to help you through. :)

I agree! Disney chefs were wonderful with our gluten-free, casein-free, preservative-free, dye free child (he is on this diet to help manage his Asperger's.) It was so nice to let someone else do all the intensive food prep for a change. The food prepared for him was outstanding.

By the way, beautiful photos!

I have a mushroom and shellfish anaphalactic allergy and I was so shocked how much stuff has mushroom hidden in it so Im glad disney is awesome with allergies for you and everyone:)

A little off topic, but wow OP- you pictures are stunning!

Did you do any counter service? My DD has a tree nut/coconut allergy and we are doing all counter service.

GemmaPixie--Thank you!

72OL--Sorry, I can't be much help to you with the Counter Service plan. We weren't on DDP, so I just made him a sandwich each day to eat at the parks. I'm sure if you ask on the disabilities forum you will find someone who can give you specifics.
