Disney Dining Rotation - When do you know?

The countdown has begun...

I am going on the Magic on November 23 - 30. Have a question regarding dining rotations. When do you know what rotation you have so you can plan the days you want to try for PALO. Can you call ahead to find out? Thanks.

Looking forward to seeing DIS'ers on the Magic on 23rd.

You don't find out until you check in at the port. It is stamped on your Key to the World (KTTW) card. It will indicate first or second seating (F or S) and the rotation (PLAPLAP, LAPLPAL, or APLPALA).

We got lucky and got what we wanted, which was PLAPLAP. This allowed us to have formal night in Lumiere's, and Tropical night in Parraot Cay. With this rotation, my parents went to Palo's on Monday night, and we went on Wednesday night. We didn't miss the "special" nights that way.

It's all luck of the draw unless you get one of the "special" packages at extra cost (such as honeymoon, etc). Then you can request a rotation. Very few get that.

If all goes well, Im going to checkin at port w/the 3 dining rotations in hand. If we get this rotation we'll go to Palos this night, if we get that rotation then this other night is better for Palos, etc. And if all goes well, Im planning on going to Palos for brunch, dinner & high tea and of course will want them on all 3 different sea days. So brunch will depend on when our char breakfast is scheduled.

4ofusfrompa.....as the other posters said, you will not know until you check it, but here is a link to some dining charts for the Magic so you have an idea what to expect in each rotation.

I have actually called DCL two times and requested certain rotations. They could not guarantee it, but said they would pass on my request to the dining dept. Both times I received the rotation I wanted. I have done it again for our upcoming 1/4/03 cruise.

Good luck on your dining rotation, I called and requested what we wanted, don't know what it did other than make me feel like I did something!!!

You mention meeting the other DISers on the 11/23 cruise. After reading this board in preparation for the trip, it would be nice to meet some of the people who've chatted about the cruise. Is there a plan for a quick intro session someplace?

If there isn't a plan, you'll still be able to find me - I'll be the one with the smile on my face. Oh wait, there may be other 40-somehting guys with smiles...
