Disney Dining Reservations and Credit Card Guarantee?

We have never done anything but counter service meals, but my DD want to go to the San Angel Restaurante...here is my question: I have to reserve the time with a Credit Card? If we have to cancel the ressie, do we get charged a no show fee? And do they give you a 24 hour window in which to cancel with no charge? Or even a shorter window? What is the WDW policy on that?

You must cancel more than 24 hours in advance or be charged $10 per person. Usually as long as you cancel any time the day before you are Ok.

Too many people were making 4-5 sets of reservations each night so they were forced to start this policy in response.

It's not actually 24 hours. You have to cancel by 11:59pm the night before your reservation. Otherwise, you'll get charged $10 per person. Also, just so you're aware, if some members of your party don't come, you won't be charged a fee for them -- as long as one person shows up, there's no fee.

All reservations made through Disney require the credit card guarantee. There are several that are prepaid up front (San Angel is not one of them). For San Angel, as long as you cancel before the day of the reservation you will not be charged; it's if you cancel the same day.

You can cancel your dining reservation online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 up to 11:59 PM Eastern Time on the day before your arrival. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.

Some restaurants may charge a fee for cancellations or no shows. Each restaurant at Walt Disney World Resort maintains its own cancellation policy, so be sure to check the policy when you are making your reservation.
