Disney Dining Question

This is our first trip to Disney, and I am trying to work on our restraunt ressies. We got the dining plan included, but now I am confused. We arrive on 11/9 at around 10:00PM, and we leave on 11/17 around 10:30AM. Do we get meals for the fly in and fly out days? Do you have to purchase park tickets to get the meals for those days? Any insight would be appreciated!

From your dates it looks like you are staying 8 nights. This means that you would have 8 table service credits, 8 counter service credits, and 8 snack credits per person for your trip. These credits are yours to use in any order you choose. (If you want to use 2 TS (table service) credits one day and none the next, you are free to do so).

The number of days of your tickets do not have to match the number of nights (and therefore dining plan credits) that you have. If you want only 1, 3 or 6 day tickets that is your decision and will not affect either the number of nights you stay or the number of dining credits you will receive.

Yes, the dining plan starts the day you check in and ends midnight the day you check out.

The only good thing is the signature meals like Hoope Dee doo take 2 TS credits and so a couple of other ones to do like the Castle.

Or you can eat a TS Breakfast and then eat a very late TS Supper, 2 in one day.

You have 1 counter server per person too, plus a snack per person. A lot of people load up on snacks, like the rice crispie bars and take them home if they have snack credits left.

Go to Deb Willis Mouseears web page, she has a great breakdown of participating resturants and actually menu's.

So it sounds like I have 2 Table service meals that I can make signature restraunts, because of the late arrival and early departure! Am I understanding that correctly?

You will have dining credits equal to the number of NIGHTS you stay. So if you do not plan an early breakfast the day you leave, nor any credit TS credit use the day you fly in, you will have 8 credits to use over 7 days.

(I hope my math is right)

That said, you may use as many credits per day as you wish, so if there are two Signatures you wish to dine at, you can always pay cash for one meal or use your Counter service credits.

When we went a year ago on the plan we found we had left over Counter Service meals (without trying to save them up at all). So my advice is always to pay cash for one of your last meals, after you are sure you will use up your CS credits.
