My family is wanting to take a trip to WDW and Im wanting to know whats your guys personal opinioin on which dining plan to do? We are leaning toward Deluxe...will that be to much food? We want to be able to order and go anywhere without having to worry about pricing! Thank you :thumbsup2

its really on preference and you will get a lot of different options from everyone..

First the dinning plan does not cover all restaurants in wdw, just a selection of them. I would say if you are interested in going to a lot of table service restaurant, as well as / or using the dinning plan for a dinner show, the deluxe is good.. If though you want to grab something and run with maybe regular dining plan, 1 counter, 1 table, and 1 snack per night, per person..

For my trip i went with the Deluxe, mainly because we are going to a lot of the show / dinner combos, and well to be honest i really do want to do counter service thing.. Im lazy and like to be waited on.. :rotfl2:.. I guess my main answer is what your family is more conferrable with..

Also please be warned depending on the time of year you really should have ADR's, esp if you are using deluxe dinning.. The only reason i say this is you may pay for the extra table service meals, and either waste time waiting for a restaurant to free up or be stuck going to counter service.

We have done the ddp 2x's, dxdp 1x....we really loved the deluxe. The initial cost was a bitter pill to swallow. We had dinner exclusively at signature restaurants, so we usually had 2 meals a day and then used snacks to tie us over. We are DVC members, so we have decided to alternate accomodations and dining plan. This year we had a studio, so we went with the deluxe. Next year we are getting a 1 bedroom villa, so we will have a full kitchen and will pass on the dining plan altogether. We will just pay out of pocket for table service meals.

I don't think I would have tried the deluxe before this year simply because our daughter wasn't old enough to appreciate or sit still for long meals. She now loves going to nice restaurants and is quite a little 'foodie'! (She is 6)

In my opinion, the Deluxe plan is a waste of time and money, unless you are doing mostly 2 credit signature meals. I seen people with the DDDP post their itineraries on here and all they are doing is eating - 8 a.m. breakfast, 1 p.m. lunch, 6 p.m. dinner. That's like 6 or 7 hours per day traveling to and from ADRs and eating.

We always get the basic plan with 1 Table Service Credit, 1 Counter Service Credit and 1 Snack per person per day.

Every WDW restaurant in all 4 of the parks and at all the WDW resorts is included in the DDP. The only restaurants not included are a couple of places like T-Rex, Rain Forest Cafe and Fulton's at Downtown Disney. Pretty much everything else on property is included. The basic DDP is well worth the money.
