Disney Dining Plan for DVC for one night

Hello everyone! I am renting points through DVC and am staying at SSR for the first night of my trip and then switching over to the Boardwalk for the remaining 4 days. Am I able to purchase the dining plan for that first night at SSR seeing that it will only be for one night? Thanks for your help!

I heard on a podcast that they are good for either 14 or 21 days after purchase, even when your dining plan has technically ended

No matter you get it from dining plan or pay out of pocket for the mug. It is activated to length of stay (max 14 days). They used to have 1 day / 5 days and length of stay option which cost differently. But now only 1 price 17.99 for 14days. And it will work in any resorts onsite.

We have used our mugs at different resorts on the trips where we have used DDP- they are definitely not resort-specific.
