Disney Dining Plan and Cinderella's Royal Table

We have booked our reservation for September with the free dining plan. We also have booked the character lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table and understand that we will use 2 table services credits as a signiture dining experience. When we booked the meal, we had to pay up front for this reservation. How do we get re-imbursed for having our meal for free under the dining plan? Any help would be appreciated.

Not to question your post but...Are you sure you had to pay or did you maybe have to give a credit card to reserve your spot? We will be on the DDP (not free) in July. When I made our ADR, I had to give cc number, but it was just to reserve.

I'm not sure, but I think my credit card was charged. I looked on the menu for CRT on the DIS and the menu said that the credit card would be charged.

I have an ADR for CRT as well. I told them I'm on the dining plan, and they said they still had to charge the full amount for each person to my credit card, and when we go there they will refund it. Hope this helps!!!

I just booked two sep. meals at CRT last Monday for September, and since I'm on the dining plan, they just took my cc number as an guarantee. They didn't charge it at all, not even the $1 pre auth. that happens sometimes at places.

Even if you are on the DDP or not, you still have to give a CC number as a guarantee...

The CM should have asked you whether you are on the DDP or not - if yes, your CC is only a guarantee, if no, your CC will be charged.

I booked the Dinner last year and the Breakfast this year. They asked if I was on DDP and stated they needed a CC as a guarantee only, until I explained I wanted to pay upfront for the meal. They have a different system for guarantees and for charging the card, as last year the CM had to cancel the booking he was making as a guarantee to put it through as a charge.

When I booked, I was not on the dining plan. Now that I have free dining, I will be. I wonder if I could cancel one reservation and replace it with another?

Ahhh I see.... I would call Disney Dining and see what they can do for you

Or use those 2 TS that you'll be saving for something else? Maybe a Signature Dinner or if you have young kids, 2 extra Character breakfasts?

We're on DDP but paying OOP for CRT as I think that the 2TS could be better used elsewhere.

We did the castle & had to give a credit card & it was charge to the card as I checked to see & it was there. And dining tells you that at least they did me. But if you are going to use your dining plan you have to give them 48 hrs notice to tell them you are switching. This I was told by dining & club level planners. MHO. No flames please as it is what I discovered when I booked there

I just tried to book with a CC guarantee only. We will be making our resort reservation with dining plan this Thursday. CM would not do it and insisted a charge on my credit card. Oh well, wait for Thursday.

when we booked we just had to give our CC as a just in case... we were NEVER charged.... it is just to hold your spot... if you were charged I would call and get your credit now... if you are on the DDP

Do they ask for your resort booking #? If you tell them you are on the dining plan; is that enough? I really want to book this now but don't want the hassle of chasing for a refund.

I did the same thing, planning on booking on thursday. They did charge my credit card ( I just checked ) and the CM did tell me to call back when I book ( obviously I will be doing that) and I will receive a credit.

I called last night and booked CRT for dinner. We told her we were booking free dining on Thursday. We gave our CC for deposit and it has not been charged.

The CM we spoke with told us our card would NOT be charged.

I just booked our CRT lunch this morning. CM asked if I was on the dining plan; I said yes and did not even ask for ressie #. Credit card guarantee only; asked him twice to confirm this.

For those of you who made ADR for CRT for dinner;
How long were you on hold when you called at the 180 day mark?
I plan to call first thing in the morning when I reach my mark, but was curious how hard it was/is to get dining reservations for CRT before MNSSHP.
Also, could you tell me when are the meal times? It sounds like they move people in and out of the dining room at certain times.

I called before I made my trip ressie,but I am well within the 180 mark. ( going 9/18!!!) I didn't have a problem getting in, I just wanted it to be after my daughters BBB appointment. Good luck!!!

Hopefully this will help clarify CRT for you all. If you tell the CM you are on the dine plan you should only be giving your credit card for a guarantee, NO CHARGE should be made. If you get a CM who tells you differently they are wrong, you should insist that your card not be charged. If you tell the CM you are going to buy the dine plan soon they will charge your card. CRT is a Pre Paid event. The only exception to this is the dine plan. If you believe your card was charged, call back & have them verify you are on the dine plan and change it to a guarantee only. It will probably take 1-2 billing cycles to show a credit to your card however. If you have added the dine plan since making your ADR then call back & have them change it for you. You do not need to wait until you dine to have the credit given. HTH!

Bingo!! you are right! since I made my res for this before my actual trip res, they billed me. However, we I called back to switch it to the dining plan, they said they would credit me, no problem. I'm really not worried about Disney not coming thru with a credit, it is Disney after all !
