I wish disney would allow you to purchase dining credits a la carte. For example, a family of 4 staying 5 nights on the DDP would get 20 QS 20 TS and 20 snack credits. Something that would work for my family would be 28 QS 12 TS. That would allow us to do 3 TS meals (which is plenty for us) and not waste a TS on a QS. They could adjust the price and save us a few bucks. Just wishful thinking, I know!

They need to make money on the deal. It would be like picking the channels you want to pay for on cable. Go during free Dining and it won't matter.

I totally get that they need to make money. In all honesty, we could just pay oop and not have to worry about it. They might get more people to actually pay for a dining plan if it is more flexible. I whole point being you want people to pay as much money upfront before the even get to the park.

Disneyland has this type of dining plan, and almost no one uses it because it doesn't really save any money.

What might you be willing to pay for the plan you describe?

Well the regular dining plan is $60 per person per day and the Qs plan is $42 so i'd be willing to to pay $50-$53 per person per day. Unfortunately, the DP is well past the days of actually saving you money unless you get it for free!

Dont know much about the Disneyland plan. I just want the plan to work exactly the same as it does now at WDW just allowing you flexibility in number of TS vs. QS.

I like your idea! When we went with a just turned 1year old, a not quite 3 year old , and 5 & 8 year olds, it would have been nice to add a few snack credits. An extra meal would have been too much, but an added snack would have filled empty bellies well!

Me too op, but its never going to happen. Most of the people that get the dinning plan unless they are perfectly in the sweet spot for saving money, dont.

The dinning plan has a way of changing what you would normally order, the exclusion of thing like light up drinks, end up being purchased more, because heck we have the dinning plan.

The dinning plan has the opposite affect on people if you would normally order mid to lower range entree when paying oop, when on the dinning plan people have the getting the most out of what they paid for mind set. so they order higher priced items. Disney lowers the quality of higher priced items to make up the difference.

I know you have heard the complaining that the dinning plan has ruined dining at Disney. Its so sad that it is true.

I do love Deluxe dinning. Oh and something that has been bugging me with oop/plan. Hello its all OUT OF YOUR POCKETS.

Hey Disney give me back my Mickey Butter.

That $50-53 is actually within the same price value of what the DDP meals cost adults. The breakdown right now is roughly $38 for TS, $17 for QS, and $5 for snack. When you do the math with your 7QS, 3TS, and 4 snacks, you're right there.

Agreed, that kind of setup would be pretty much the same thing as paying by using a Disney gift card (because I'm assuming that what people who like this idea really want is the option to prepay). Or using the voucher system that Disneyland has.
