Prologue;

Hello and welcome to my first Trip Report!

My name is Wendy and I come to you from Nova Scotia, Canada. If you have read my PTR and followed me here, welcome! If you have not read my PTR, welcome! If you would like to, you may do so here.

The cast:
Wendy "Darling" (me). 25, photographer, horseback rider, amateur painter.
Johnny "Darling". 25, my husband of (almost) one year. Plumber, army reservist, absolute Prince Charming.
Monique. My mother in law and newest Disney fan.
Kevin. My step father in law and another plumber.
Melissa. My cousin, very close to 24, living a 5 hour drive away from me, huge Disney fan.
Ron. Melissa's boyfriend. 24, IT guy, first trip ever! Surprise thrill seeker.

To start things off I will very quickly summarize the above mentioned PTR. Johnny surprised me early with a trip for our first anniversary. We planned to go on the actual date, October 16. Free dining foiled our plans and we took advantage. We then planned Sept. 24 - Oct. 2 at Pop Century and paid to upgrade the dining plan. Then we included Melissa and Ron who were going to come Sept. 24 and check out on the 29th. Then we included my in-laws who were coming on our dates. Then, one week before we left our airline gave strike notice. They said some flights would be canceled but no telling which. In a moment of panic, we changed our flights from the 24th to the 23rd to give us 24 extra hours to juggle with flights if we needed to. We booked one night at Pop Century. Strike was called off and we decided to go ahead with our one extra day. That is where I left you. Call that one slice of panic bread on my interesting sandwich trip -- hence the name. What will the other panic be? Did we actually enjoy a trip preceded by so much stress? How did we do our first time with a bunch of people? Tune in to find out.

Here and going back to read!

All caught up! Great start! :thumbsup2

Intrigued by the panic aspect - hope there wasn't too much of this and you all had a great trip :goodvibes

I'm here! Sorry to hear about airport drama. Stupid Air Canada :headache: Can't wait to hear all about the trip!

Yay!! Welcome aboard!
I wish I had better options for flying. It's AC or WestJet and anywhere I go with WJ I would have to overnight in Toronto. I hope some serious competition comes to the Atlantic area and soon. :sad2:

I know there's some charters offered like Air Transat that fly out of Halifax. Not sure how often they go though.... At least it'd be another option to check out :thumbsup2

I'm here too!!! I'm sorry I didn't text ya, things got crazy that night at MK!! I remembered how you looked on your picture, and looked for ya tho. I'll tell ya the craziness story some other time.

Can't wait to hear more! On our first trip in 2006, American Airlines lost all our luggage (5 people, 5 suitcases) but luckily it was on the way home and not on the way to Disney.

Welcome back! I'm most definitely in for the ride!

I was sooooo glad that you were able to get down there without too much trouble (hopefully!!??)...but the again, that's what I predicted even in the middle of the strike talk!! :cool1:

Can't wait to hear about the whole thing!!

There's lots of options out of Halifax for sure. It's a 4.5 hour drive for me that I'd rather not take if I could help it, but next time I will drive a bit to save myself the hassle!

Oh my gosh, no worries! I know some of how crazy things were that night, it took me 45 minutes to get to a bathroom! :scared1: Hahaha, I was on the lookout for you too, just in case. I'll be waiting for the stories though. And welcome to the TR!

Welcome to the TR! Ohh not fun! Same with us, thankfully we were on the way home.

Welcome! Yes, you absolutely called it! We did get down with no trouble, I'll probably post the first chapter tomorrow now that we've got everything settled.

Hey everyone! I had planned to make my first TR post this morning but I'm a little distracted. My luggage was lost and damaged by my airline on the way home, as I mentioned. One bag is all bent and the other is soaking wet and has handles and zippers ripped off. Fortunately, most of our stuff is just fine -- just some soaking wet clothes, a sopping wet and bashed in box (but thankfully Disney packs their breakables in 15 inches of styrofoam!)

Unfortunately, however, all my paper items were in the wet bag. Park maps, which are fairly easy to get again, but also Epcot F&WF guides, Johnny's Richard Petty NASCAR envelope including his "report card" with his lap times and his certificate, our Medieval Times crowns, etc. These are things with no monetary value, but they have a lot of value to me.

I have emailed both WDW and the Richard Petty company to see if there is any way I can be sent these things again. I am asking you all if you know of any way also.

I am currently packing up all damaged items and the two damaged suitcases to take to the airport so they can do a damage report. I hope this goes well, please wish me luck! Hopefully when I get back I'll have time for a real TR post.
