Disney Decor December 2024 Exercise Challenge

Welcome to the December 2024 exercise thread! This month's theme is Disney Decor - I'll be posting some pics/info about the holiday decorations at Disney Parks, and I'm also inviting everyone to share your own photos of Disney decorations you have at home.

If you’re returning, we’re excited to have you back! If you’re new, welcome to the team! Here’s how it works:

Each person chooses a time goal and posts minutes towards that goal as they exercise. You can post daily or just catch up when you can. You decide what movement counts towards your goal - which can be a nice round total for the month, a specific number that means something to you, or a calculation based on a target number of minutes per day. Since December has 31 days, here are some common conversions:

15 minutes/day = 465
20 minutes/day = 620
30 minutes/day = 930
45 minutes/day = 1395
1 hour/day = 1860


One of the special motivations of our Disney challenge is color changing!
Page one will be updated with individual and team color changes as we make more and more progress:


10% - Blue
25% - Orange
50% - Purple
75% - Pink
90% - Red
100% - Green

We’re officially starting this challenge on December 1, but if you don’t find the thread until later in the month, you’re still welcome to join! 35 minutes for me so far, and our first Disney Decor entry for the month is a trivia question:

Approximately how many decorated Christmas trees do you think there are around the WDW property this year?

Since I didn't meet my goal last month, I'm cutting back as well. I'll stick with my usual eight gym work outs (two a week) but my goal is to add just one 30 minute workout on my own outside of the gym. Hopefully I can drag myself to just walk for 30 minutes. :P

December goal - 600 minutes

Crossing my fingers that I blow that out of the water and get my running mojo back. :)
 
Not to be a crowd follower, but I'm also going to cut back for December! We'll be traveling for most of the last 2 weeks of the month, so I have my doubts about getting my minutes in. 😅 I'll shoot for 675. Starting out with 30 today from Growwithjo and yoga.

10 minutes of yoga on 12/3. I'm looking forward to some gym time tonight. Does anyone have a 10/15 minute before bed stretching routine they could recommend? I need something that hits all the major muscles groups, but doesn't take forever. Extra pixie dust would be if it can done without a ton of energy. I'm dealing with muscles aches - so I need to stretch - but not a lot of energy or time.

I don't know what sort of yoga you did for your workout, but if you look up bedtime yoga, you can usually find short, gentle, all over stretches that might work for you.
