How is this perk? What characters are there and is it really private and/or better than the normal character meet and greets? Lines?

At Walt Disney World® Resort, stop by our private locationreserved just for Cardmembersto meet and pose with some of your favorite Disney Characters. Get a complimentary 5 x 7 photo, too! When: Offered daily, 1PM to 7PM Where to go: Innoventions West at Epcot® at Walt Disney World® Resort. What to do: Just present your Disney Visa Debit Card to enter the event. Why: It's one of the most unique experiences of being a Cardmember!

I've heard there can sometimes be lines but when I did it there was no one else there. We met Mickey and Pluto, the photopass photophagrapher took a ton of pictures and then I got to go to the photo center and choose one for them to print. I thought it was very nice.

Now that it is open for 6 hours, the line usually isn't horrible unless you get there towards the beginning of the window. When we go there are typically only 3 or 4 families ahead of us.

As for "is it really private and/or better than the normal character meet and greets?", you do get "private time" with the characters. The line is outside of a curtained off room and your party is escorted inside. Your group will be alone in the room with the characters, a handler, and the photographer. The characters spend a little more time with you than they might in a normal greet.

The characters vary, but you'll usually meet 2 of the Fab 5. I was there one time and got Mickey and Minnie. Another time was Minnie and Goofy.

Sometimes you'll even luck out and get more than 2 characters. One time it was Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto. One lucky time we got all of the Fab 5 together.

We try to do this at least one time per trip and have a nice collection of free photos as a result. We were happy to see them extend the hours for the Meet and Greet.

We've never stood in line more than a few minutes for this -- twice at WDW and once at DLR.

In 2007 at WDW - we saw Mickey, Minnie and Goofy

In 2010 at DLR - we saw Chip and Dale

At EPCOT you don't see the characters until you get to them -- they're behind a curtain so you don't know who you're getting ;)

We went to EPCOT twice on the last trip and couldn't find the meet and greet either time. We got conflicting directions each time and never did end up at the right place.

This is great info.

Are you allowed to visit more than once per day? And this is ONLY at Epcot?

Yes and yes
They take your cc number and write it down
That's also how they allow you to redeem the 5x7

If you are ever looking for it again, it is in Innoventions West. To explain exactly where....

If you were coming into the park, the main path splits at Spaceship Earth. Take the path to the right.
Go up the hill.
You will see an Art of Disney store on your right.
Go past that and into the first Innoventions entrance on your right.
When you go in the door, you should see the Liberty Mutual "Where's the Fire?" exhibit. That's how you know you are in the correct place.
Follow the wall on your right and go past Where's the Fire.
You should see a small queue line setup on the right with an entrance with two curtained doors.

That is the spot.

We got Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy. We waited maybe 20 minutes early afternoon and were the first family in after the characters took a break. So they popped out from behind the backdrop and surprised the kids. It was worth waiting :). We'll do it again when we're there next month.

Can we take some our own pics too with our camera or is it only the CM photographer?

We went in July, had zero wait, and were greeted by Pluto and Mickey. It is totally private (one family at a time), and the photog took at least a dozen pictures. They all turned out awesome, so it was difficult only picking one. My husband and I plan to do this again in March. pixiedust:
29 trips to Disney World and counting...next stop POFQ march 2014:joker:

We did it twice a couple weeks ago, the first time got Minnie & Pluto, the second time just Mickey. Both times there were only two groups ahead of us, and it was completely private where we didn't go in until the previous group was scanning their Magicbands and leaving. My fiancé doesn't care much about pictures so he took a couple with my camera of just me first, then joined in for the photographer to do a few more of both of us.

In the past,, I've asked the handler to take pics with my camera while the photopass photographer took some with his. It was nice to have both.

I have not been able to find this on my last 2 visits. I am determined to find it this trip!

I recall from attempting before that it's a maximum of 6 people per card? Does anyone know if that's just the max for photos or the the max that can go back?

We're going to be traveling with 4 adults and 5 kids. My hubby and I have the card, his brother & wife do not. We'd like to take all 5 kids with us for the photos, but that means we'd have 7 people or 9 preferably if their parents stay with us (preferable since 2 of them are little).

Anyone does this with a big group? :grouphug:

I had forgotten about this! Thanks OP for reminding me. We had a great experience last time, and now that I've been reminded I plan to do it again next month!
