Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

How did I miss the monkey cupcake?! I always check out the dessert case several times a day! ;)

Hopefully work picks up soon for John!

If you don't see them in the dessert cases at the individual food stations, look in the grab n go section or vice versa.;)

Yay, more CBR pictures to show George tomorrow! :lmao::goodvibes

I want to get a Dessert party ADR but haven't been able to yet. George would LOVE it and I know I would too. :cloud9:

I originally booked us for GF Cafe for our upcoming trip when I originally couldn't get BoG, but when I found one there I cancelled it. I definitely have to go there sometime though, as it all looks so delicious!

Is George getting excited? I know that you are!

There's a cancellation thread over on the restaurant boards. Thanks to stacy (love Dis people!), I was able coordinate her cancellation and snagged it as soon as she did.

great pictures.. thanks!!!

we love the Grand Floridian cafe!!! it is SO pretty in there and cheery!! nebo likes that it is bright and he has no trouble seeign in there (le Cellier? San Angel? way too dark for him) and the food and service is always good.

I agree with you on the Grand Floridian...it's so bright and cheery! I said tha tsame thing about LeCellier and San Angel. They are so dark and it's hard to see what you're eating.

3 dif. waiters had each of the 3 tables becused the hostess staggers the tables amongst the servers. this is to be fair so all the servers get about tthe same amount of tables, and also so no one server is slammed with 3 or 4 tables that sat down at the same time. you get better sercice when it is staggered.

The service was fantastic that evening.

It is well within that families right to order water and split one entree (we often order water ourselves), but I'm sure whatever server got that table was not a happy camper!;) we also split a meal at Prime time ; it's a lot of food for us(but we also split an appetizer and a huge shake). I would think they would at least split 2 entrees for 4 people!

I don't mind people splitting entrees and have done it myself but four people to one entree was a little on the extreme side.

here's hoping the job search goes well for John.. that is so stressful. nebo was on unemployment back in 2007 when the company he worked for for 27 years went under. you pay into unemployment and have every right to recieve it.. that's what you pay into it for!

John's boss was ticked off when he found out that we were having troubles collecting the unemployment benefits. He even faxed over paperwork to try and help us out. It's ridiculous!

WELCOME! I hope that you'll feel free to post.

Whew! I finally made it through all the links and some of the end pages. Looks like a great trip for you guys! I love your TR's, so full of fun and joy.

I'm glad that you are enjoying our silly family.

I'm really sorry about John's job, that (pardon my language) just sucks. Hopefully his money will be in your account soon, and even better, he'll go back to work too.

It does suck! Hopefully, he'll be back at work sometime next week. He's ready to get his routine back.

What are you dates for next year? Another long trip? I think you may have been there when my sister's family was there in June. 5-16th I want to say.

Oh yeah, another long trip! We leave on May 22nd, arrive on the 23rd and won't leave until June 6th. It can't get here soon enough!

You poor dear! How much more can you guys take? Well, knowing you, you just give it right back.

Good for John for letting his sister "know."

I'm glad Momma is getting her affairs in order...it will make her feel better.

Lots of canning and stuff for you, my friend.

Get here when you can (and selfishly, you can avoid too many updates while I'm gone).

Sending a huge hug to you and John.

Kathy, I know that you understand wrestling with "family issues". It ain't easy is it?

Oh John for sure let his sister "know" what was what and where she needed to go. He may be a preacher's kid but he knows how to dish out some pretty harsh words when he needs to.

Yep, I've been canning and preserving like a fool but it sure will taste good when I pull them out in the Winter time.

Thanks for the hugs! I'll take every single one of them!

Woooo-eee, lady! You are making me tired just reading about all you have been doing and dealing with! My parents plan to retire up here in about three years, so I know my day is coming in taking care of my kids and hubby and my own life and taking care of my parents, too. I am honored to be given the opportunity to take care of the parents who sacrificed so much for me and loved me all these years...but I know it is going to require quite an adjustment to my life to say the least. :goodvibes

THANK YOU JESUS that John is going back to work!!!!! :dance3:
God is good, and He is faithful!! I am sure it will take a bit to recover from the brief financial loss, so I will keep on praying!

First off, I had a dream about you last night. Yep, you invited me to go on the cruise with you when you stopped by my town. I didn't even have time to pack my stuff. We just hopped on that cruise ship and set sail. Don't I wish it were true!

It's definitely an adjustment taking care of your loved ones. My Mama lives right next to us...I'm talking we share a driveway and you can't tell where her land begins and ends. It all looks like one gigantic yard. Do any other family members come to help take care of the yard or house? Nope. Just us. Like you said, it's an honor to take care of the one who took care of me for so many years. As I so eloquently put it years ago to my Mama "You wiped my butt and I'll wipe your's when or if I need to." Yeah, I'm a woman with a way with words.:rotfl2:

Thank you for the continued prayers!

Thanks for the update with what has been going on with your family.

Never a dull moment at your place!

I am still sending positive thoughts for continuing improvement for John's father.

And the absolute best medicine for John will be getting back to work! So glad to hear the news seems to pointing to that happening soon.

I love the way the family trip is coming together for you and Jesse's family.

Look out Disney World!

:goodvibes

Sounds like he's as adventurous as my kids.

"Cept he doesn't eat PB&J. Weird kid, I know.

Cool! I hate fighting the crowds for the nighttime shows.

I don't like the crowds either and the dessert party was the perfect getaway.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Not sure on the teenage version, but for husbands and fathers, it's typically the only quiet time you get all day!:rotfl:

Thaaaaaat's why John's always in the bathroom! And, he said that his medicine messes up his stomach:lmao:

Exhibit A for why I'm not a big fan of the Grand Floridian!

I'm pretty sure that we'd stand out like a sore thumb especially if we went during cooler months when John has on his holey jeans and Georgia boots. :sad2:

It would be really funny if they rotated through the tables!

:rotfl2:

Looks tasty!

It aws!

After walking miles in the parks? We'd be fighting to the death over one entree!

You aren't kidding! And, these people looked like they had money to pay for food for each of them. Maybe sharing one entree among four people is HOW they got the money?

You're going to love the future chapters in my TR! :woohoo:

Uh-I've already seen some of those scary pictures. Like the one of you leaning over that dam dam.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

LOOOOVEEEE the Grand Floridian!! It is just so beautiful and especially in person... Even if we aren't eating there, we still drop by for a visit!

Your boys looked handsome in their dress up clothes :)

Stevie would be just like John and not wanting me to take pictures in there.. LOL.. I even embarassed him some at the counter service meals I took pictures of... HAHA!!

Those shrimp and grits look SOOOOOO YUMMMY!!!!!!!

I always tell everybody that we clean up well. ;):rotfl: Seriously, I thought that the guys looked all nice and stuff in their collar shirts.

John has pretty much gotten used to me taking pictures but when we are in a fancy place like the Grand Floridian Cafe, he just :sad2: at me.

GF Cafe looks so yummy! I keep putting it on my list of places to try, and it always gets pushed back for something else.

I can't wait to hear about the dessert party!

If you ever get a chance, do try Grand Floridian Cafe. It's really good!

I'm getting so excited for the dessert party. I can't wait to hear your opinion on it. We were suppose to go eat at Kona that night but we cancelled. We ate pretzels in the park we weren't very hungry for supper. I have yet to see the Grand, next trip I'll have to schedule a meal there.

I had Kona scheduled for that night and then Ohana and we ended up at the Grand Floridian. I could go for a Mickey pretzel right about now. These cheez-it's aint cuttin' it. :rotfl:

Yay for the unemployment coming through. Every little bit helps. Hopefully it is deposited soon!

It was finally deposited and we've gotten one more since them. I'll take whatever they will give us.

I had to laugh about Hunter and the bathroom. Michael was the same way...20 -30 minutes every time. And he was really famous for us walking out the door, usually running later than we should for something, the whole time he had been laying around in his room and then he says he has to go to the bathroom...and of course not just to pee. :confused3 I would yell at him every time that next time he would have to do it earlier or just hold it! :rotfl:

I don't understand what takes them so dang long!

I have never eaten at the GF cafe either, but that looks so good.
That family next to you cracks me up...especially after I recently wrote about the family next to us at BOG that let each kid order an appetizer for 2 plus full meals and they wasted most of the food. So what kind of entree did they get? I can just see. ok I have cut the steak in 12 pieces so everyone gets 3 bites!

I guess the family we saw were just the opposite of the one next to you. They got the steak like Hunter got. They cut it up between three people and then split the potatoes (it came with mashed potatoes but Hunter substituted fries.) Seriously? How many bites could they have each gotten?

I have never heard of a monkey cupcake. It looks amazing! Putting that on my list of things to get on my next trip. ::yes::

The only place that we've seen them are at the CBR. Sometimes they are in the grab n go section and other times in the dessert displays in the other stations.

The dessert party surprise was great. I've never done the party and would love to do it sometime.

I'm trying to figure out how to work it into our upcoming trip. However, with so many folks going, I'm not sure that I can get it in the itinerary.

Isn't the GF beautiful? My uncle worked there for I think 26 years. He finally retired last year. There went our free tickets! :rotfl: Your food looked yummy! Nice sneaky pics too!

Oh what a beautiful workplace your uncle had! What did he do there?

Excited for the next update at the party but, something in the tittle doesn't sound so good!:worried:

It's not quite as bad as it sounds. Hint! Hint!

Really enjoying your trip report! I also really am glad for your in depth details on CBR. We are tried and true POR fans, but this upcoming trip we are staying at CBR (free dining), and I am really looking forward to it. Your enthusiasm for this resort has me super excited!!!! After your latest TR installment, you have me making a reservation for Grand Floridian Cafe... YAY... I love to try new restaurants and your review was so positive. Thanks for the Trip Report..

Thank you! I'm glad that you are enjoying the report and hope that you'll continue to post. I love new Disboards friends. The resort is absolutely beautiful and we love it there. Jensieb also has pictures of the resort in her latest report. She made a quick trip there a short time back.

I love trying new restaurants too! It's hard to decide on which new ones to try and still go to our old favorites.

Put teh majority of this into a PM again ... too wordy and too off topic!!

Just had to touch base to let you know how much you have brightened a really gloomy day!!! Can't wait to "hear" about the dessert party. Hoping to read about your family's plans to join you next year. Our daughter & her new fiancee were heavy into working on crashing our upcoming trip (eeek less than 42 days now) when she realized it will be smack-dab in the middle of midterms. As my john says, "awww that's too bad" followed by a stage whisper when they hung up NOT

I read your message and then got distracted by something else. Probably a boss yelling or a kid asking where something or other was. I'll go back and reply.

Awwwww, too bad! :rotfl2: Hilarious! They can't come for even a few days?

Hi Lisa! I'm jumping in a bit late but I've enjoyed your TRs in the past so I'm joining the bandwagon! Just wanted to let you know that DH and I go through the whole "not booking ADRs at Ohana and then wondering why we aren't eating there" EVERY TRIP. So I already have our ADR for Ohana ready to go for our next visit. :) can't wait to read more!

Welcome! Never ever too late to join in on our fun! Hope that you'll feel free to post any time you want.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has an Ohana-iffy husband. Next trip, I am booking Ohana no matter what anybody says.

Oh NO for printing out the wrong list. You improvised pretty well. Everyone looks great!

I noticed your pretty jewelry in a lot of your pictures Mary Ellen. You always look so put together. Do you make a "Mary Ellen list"?

Sounds like a fun, relaxing day and a great dinner. I had the shrimp n grits there in May and it was really good. I think Olivia's may have a slight edge, but still really yummy!

It's funny that you mention the shrimp and grits at Olivia's because we went there later in the trip and that's what I ordered. I loved them!

Those desserts look amazing. Yum!

OK - that is really weird that the family of 4 split one entree. OMG - Denny would die. He doesn't even think two people should split an entree, which I completel disagree with.

I can see two people splitting an entree but four? That was so odd to me.

I hope the boys love the dessert party. Can't wait to see their plates on that one!

Pictures coming up soon!

Loving your adventures so far and looking forward to more!! We drive from Texas and your pictures of your drive brought back a lot of memories!! It's funny how sometimes through Louisiana we'll run into traffic but never see a reason for it, then it magically disappears! Good picture opportunities though!!

Looking forward to more!

Do ya'll come through North Louisiana on your drive? Our traffic is so wonky. You never know when we'll have a traffic back-up. Weird!

I just wanted to let you know I was still here and of course, am looking forward to hearing about the dessert party!;)

You sure made the Grand Floridian Café look good...so good I just had to look up the menu (since we have never been). I am definitely going to keep this in mind as a new spot to try next trip.

You guys looked great that night. And nice work on the mousekeeping cart for the family picture! Very resourceful!!

I think about you every single time I talk about the dessert party.

The Grand Floridian Cafe serves some really good food and the service has always been great. It's some place you should really look in to.

Thank you! I knew that we needed to look a little bit more dressed when going to the Grand. ;)

I was way way way behind but all caught up now! Your food at GF Cafe looks so good. I want those shrimp and grits! I had thought making a reservation for there in March but have decided against any ADRs. We are only there for two days and I want to capitalize on all my time. One if the other chaperones is also a super picky eater. Like chicken nuggets dipped and ketchup kind of picky. She eats like a 5 year old but she's 30! Haha!

I can't wait to hear about the dessert party! I've always wanted to do it.

It's okay to be behind. I do the same thing. As a matter of fact, I need to get caught up on your report as well.

The shrimp and grits were so good (I had a few bites of them.)

Yeah, if I were only there for a couple of days, I'd skip the ADRs too.

Cant wait to see how the Wishes Dessert Party went. I think I tried to get a reservation that very same night if it was May 28th ? Never did manage to get one though.
I will get one our next trip though because I'm determined to grab one as soon as they come out for the day we want :rotfl:

Yeah, that was on the 28th. I'd recommend the dessert party to anyone who likes sweets and wants to sit and watch the fireworks.

Thanks for the update with what has been going on with your family.

Never a dull moment at your place!

No m'am as I am sure that it's not at your house either.

I am still sending positive thoughts for continuing improvement for John's father.

Thank you Dee!

And the absolute best medicine for John will be getting back to work! So glad to hear the news seems to pointing to that happening soon.

That's so very true. An epilepsy patient suffers when their routine is thrown off. Add in the extra stress of not knowing when he'd return to work and it didn't paint a pretty picture.

I love the way the family trip is coming together for you and Jesse's family.

Look out Disney World!

:goodvibes

Look out Jesse's family! We see them every Thanksgiving and a few times in between visits but I am not sure if they are ready for us. :rotfl2: I need to give them the links to my trip reports so they'll start preparing. :rotfl:

Hi Lisa,
I'm here! late, but here!
you so NEED to make it on the Mom's Panel! HECK, I can't understand why you haven't yet~~DIsney doesn't know what they are missing by not having you

Whew! you have a lot going on...
Good for your mother to plan ahead...we ALL should! Regardless of age...many people's final wishes are never know...
Sorry for John being out of work...I hope he does get back soon...
You wave quite the troupe going with you next year! Cant wait for that TR! LOL
how thoughtful of you to print out all that info for him...I'm sure they appreciate it!

Sorry to hear about John's Dad and the family issues. Good for him that he stood up to his sister! I'm glad his Dad is back home, and here's hoping his Mom continues cooking healthier things for him!

Yay for John going back to work next week! :cool1:

:dance3: For Jesse's parents, siblings, etc all coming to Disney too! That is going to be such a fun trip, and I cannot wait to hear all about it! :thumbsup2

Oh yeah, another long trip! We leave on May 22nd, arrive on the 23rd and won't leave until June 6th. It can't get here soon enough!

We'll be there then too! 5/31-6/7. Maybe we will run into each other! I'd love to stay as long as you are. We always did when I was a kid but now that we're older, my boyfriend has issues getting time off in the summer. I'm making him put in for it from now!

My goodness, when it rains it pours! I hope John indeed is going back to work soon! That would be a huge load off.

I'm glad they were able to treat his father in time. The family drama doesn't sound fun at all. Hope he sticks to the diet!

Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?

Welcome! Never ever too late to jump into one of my reports.

Yep, there's always a lot going on around here. I agree that we all should take care of our business/affairs before it's too late. There's only one person who knows when we'll leave this Earth and He ain't letting us in on when that will be.

Hopefully, John will be back at work next week. Keeping our fingers crossed that he does.

Lacey and I are probably going a little overboard with the info but I remember our first trip and how overwhelming it can be. I'd rather have a ton of info instead of not enough info.

Sorry to hear about John's Dad and the family issues. Good for him that he stood up to his sister! I'm glad his Dad is back home, and here's hoping his Mom continues cooking healthier things for him!

When we talked to John's mother earlier this week, she had cooked dinner and they both said that it was awful due to lack of seasoning. She's just going to have to learn what she can and can not use.

I sure hope that he gets to go back to work. Not only so that we have steady money rolling back in again but we need to get back into a routine.

We are excited to have everybody going to Disney! We won't be doing everything together but will probably start the day or end the day together.

We'll be there then too! 5/31-6/7. Maybe we will run into each other! I'd love to stay as long as you are. We always did when I was a kid but now that we're older, my boyfriend has issues getting time off in the summer. I'm making him put in for it from now!

We started our trips out at 5 days and now we've progressed to two weeks. It's the perfect amount of time for our family.

When I start the pre-trip report, you and I will need to see if any of our plans overlap.

My goodness, when it rains it pours! I hope John indeed is going back to work soon! That would be a huge load off.

I'm glad they were able to treat his father in time. The family drama doesn't sound fun at all. Hope he sticks to the diet!

Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?

It sure would be nice to see him back at work. Although, I do have to say, that our yard is looking quite good with him having the time to work in it.

Family drama is a big pain in the you know what!

Oh the play? Did I go to a play? Oh yeah, I heard somebody got shot but I was too busy to notice.

Wow you guys have been having to much stress going on :faint: I'm glad John's dad is going to be alright and Johns getting to go back to work. I hope things begin to calm down for you.

This is why I love the Disboards! I feel like I know you and your family, cuz we are friends :grouphug: even tho we would (and probably did!) pass each other in the parks without a second look. Thanks for the family update! Life and those curveballs, hu?

I am so glad you applied for the Mom's Panel again. You are perfect for it!

Yay for John going back to work. He is probably tired of puttering around.

How about a Passporter for Jesse's family?

Wow you guys have been having to much stress going on :faint: I'm glad John's dad is going to be alright and Johns getting to go back to work. I hope things begin to calm down for you.

It always seemed to be something unusual going on around here but it's okay. I got the main man up in the sky looking out for us. I appreciate the good thoughts!

This is why I love the Disboards! I feel like I know you and your family, cuz we are friends :grouphug: even tho we would (and probably did!) pass each other in the parks without a second look. Thanks for the family update! Life and those curveballs, hu?

I love the Dis too for that very same reason! It's great to have a place to come to and talk with friends.

I am so glad you applied for the Mom's Panel again. You are perfect for it!

Yay for John going back to work. He is probably tired of puttering around.

How about a Passporter for Jesse's family?

I would love love love to make it to the Panel. So far, it hasn't happened by there's always another time to apply if I don't make it this time.

There's one thing to be said for John being off....our yard/land has never looked better.:thumbsup2

I've thought about recommending the Passporter for Jesse's family but wanted to wait until the 2015 edition came out. One of my tips was chosen by Passporter a month or so ago and it's going to be published! I was so excited to hear that.

If you’re gonna hurl, hurl before the party!

After our wonderful dinner at the Grand Floridian Café, we walked out to the monorail platform and waited for our chariot to take us to the Magic Kingdom. The wait wasn’t very long and we were soon pulling up to the gates of the park. Because I had a purse, I had to go through bag check but the line was short and I had all of the zippers open so the check went quickly. :thumbsup2

We had a Fastpass that was burning a hole in our pockets...wait...the Fastpasses were on our Magic Bands...no holes in our pockets or burns on our wrists. Let’s start this over and say that we had Fastpasses to use! :woohoo: As soon as I had heard the announcement of the official opening date for the Seven Dwarves’ Mine Train and my Fastpass window opened, I was on the Disney World website trying to snag one for opening day. And, my swiftness paid off! We had Fastpasses for 7:10 to 8:10 on May 28th, the first official day that the Mine Train was open.

The only problem was it wasn’t time to use them yet. See that time on the train station clock in the picture above? Yeah, it was only 6:30 p.m. We still had some time to kill. Only, I don’t remember what we did. From looking at the next picture:

it appears that we ventured over to Tomorrow land and did something. I’m sure that it wasn’t just wandering around like chickens with our heads cut off but I don’t know what it was because there’s no picture proof. I’m thinking that we went into The Laugh Floor again because that’s kinda sorta what I’m remembering and I probably wouldn’t have dug the camera out of my purse for just line pictures.

Once we were done wasting time in Tomorrow land, I know for a fact that we went to the new Fantasyland to use our Fastpasses for the Mine Train. The closer we got to Fantasyland, the more crowded it got and we could see a line. Goodness! The line for the mine train wrapped all the way around the side of the attraction and towards Storybook Circus. No matter, we had Fastpasses. :yay:

The standby and Fastpass entrance lines were a little confusing. There was a roped off area to the left of the entrance but we couldn’t tell if that was for Fastpasses or exactly what it was for. Where exactly you were supposed to enter the roped off area was confusing as well. I finally asked a castmember where we were to go in order to use our Fastpass and they walked us to the entrance to the roped off area. Hunter had one camera and I had another.

Judging from the expression on my face in this picture that Hunter took of me, I’m still a bit confused.

While waiting for the line to move forward, Hunter took a picture of the sign:

As did I:

Okay, so I know that I could have just posted one of the pictures but I have two on Photobucket so that’s what you’re getting.

I’m not going to try and keep track of who took what pictures and just post them all. The super cute Fastpass Entrance time clock:

One we scanned our Magic Bands, we really didn’t have much time to snap pictures and we didn’t go through the regular line so not many “line” pictures either.

When we entered the building, the line stopped and I couldn’t help but notice this seven dwarf level Exit sign. It’s very low to the ground and not at the top like normal Exit signs. Even one of the seven dwarves would have had to look down to see it.

We moved forward and had to scan our Magic Bands again and John and I were directed to line number:

Hunter was to be in the car in front of us and he was ready to hop onboard:

One of dwarves’ tools was hanging on the other side of the train:

Here we go! (By the way, Hunter had another gentleman riding in the car with him. They were definitely getting as many people on as they could.)

I wanted to take pictures but I also wanted to enjoy the ride so the pictures that I took aren’t of the best quality:

What did we think of the newest addition to Fantasyland? It was freakin’ awesome! Loved every single second of it!

**Continued in next post

Our next Fastpass was in Fantasyland but we didn’t go there yet because it wasn’t time to use it. Instead, we walked towards Storybook Circus and could see that the mine train line was a little shorter but still wrapped around the fenceline:

We stopped on the lefthand side of the walkway so that we could get a good view of the theming of the mine train mountain:

We entered Storybook Circus:

and then into the tent to see if they had the Mickey ears and monogramming. They did and Hunter ordered the graduation ears for his girlfriend. While waiting on the stitching to be done, I looked around:

Mickey ears purchase, monogrammed and a Christmas present purchase made :ssst:, it still wasn’t time to use our next set of Fastpasses so we decided to make a loop around the Magic Kingdom on the train.

Here comes one now:

The sun was setting and it was nice and pleasant outside making for a nice ride around the park:

Just as we were approaching the Toontown Train Station, crap, the Storybook Circus Train Station, crap again, what did that sign say a few pictures above this? Whatever that said, that’s the train station that we got off at. The one that used to be called the Mickeys Toontown Train Station is where we got off the train.

Wait! I forgot something! As the train was pulling into the train station at whatever the station is called now, the lady behind me said “Lisa?” and it was a Diser who recognized me from my trip reports. Sadly, I’m having a brain poot and I can’t remember who the Diser was. If you are out there, please please let me know that you are here so I can say “hey” again. (Warning: I have another brain poot moment coming up. (and probably more but I am having a brain poot moment and can’t remember how many .)

Even with having gone on the train ride, we still had more time to kill before we were to check in for the dessert party. Being the good planner that I was, we had Fastpasses for an attraction that usually doesn’t need a Fastpass but I made them anyway. The line for the teacups wasn’t super long but it wasn’t short either so the Fastpasses came in handy. The ride stopped, everybody exited and we chose our teacup. Holy crapadelic! Being long legged folks, it was a tight fit. I’m talking our knees were touching the spinner arounder wheel in the middle of the cup. Hunter had to actually stand up to close the door. Otherwise, his knee woulda been hanging out and I was sure that wasn’t going to fly. I mean, seriously, if there’s no dancing on the People Mover, I’m fairly certain they wouldn’t allow knees hanging out of a spinning object.

I told the guys that I really really didn’t want them spinning the tea cup like mad men but they weren’t listenin’ to a single word that came out of my mouth and as soon as the ride started, they started turning the spinner arounder wheel. Wow! They really respect my authority as the matriarch of this family. NOT! :p
