Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

By the way, am I the only one that feels like I am headed in the wrong direction when going onto the ride? Remember when you used to get on from the other side? Just feels weird/wrong going straight ahead instead of straight down. :sad2:

Oh it's so funny, I was reading the update and saw this picture and before I scrolled down and saw what you wrote under it, I was remembering exactly that! LOL :goodvibes

John - snoozing through IASW! :rotfl: Perfect time for a little shut-eye. Gotta rest up for the rest of the park!!!!

Happy belated Anniversary!!!

Sorry to hear that John’s not been feeling well, as well as your boss. Makes for a chaotic time, so you are definitely forgiven for not updating sooner!!

I love the picture of the three of you on BTMRR. Just looks like a fun time. Good for you, for not strangling yourself with your camera strap. I just about did that on Expedition Everest. My camera strap was twisted around three times on that one.

There was a picture going around on Pinterest where someone had mixed M&Ms, Skittles and Reeces Pieces together. I found it hilarious.

I am dying!! I have never seen that rice krispie turkey leg before – too funny!

We've never seen the Tiki Birds, but do plan on hitting it on our next trip.

For our first Disney trip, Country Bears was closed for refurb. We did see it on our next trip, though, and we all loved it. We'll be doing it again.

OMG mixing the M&Ms and skittles is something that Chase, my (DH), wants to do for our wedding. He thinks it will be hilarious to trick people! I have vetoed that idea, but he still talks about it and I am pretty sure he is going to try it. LOL

I am in agreement with Kathy. Scariest ride ever..

I was so happy to read your review on Be Our Guest! this will be our first time going! BUT we have both Lunch one day and Dinner on another. I wish i could just order a sampler of ALL sandwiches! :thumbsup2 and cupcakes....

I love the look of the “village” and it’s cute and all but, as I said over on Jen’s report, if I were Rapunzel, I’d be pissed (pun intended) if I were a Disney Princess and all I got out of the new Fantasyland was a freakin’ bathroom. :headache:

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Well, there are some nice lanterns too.

I had heard that the knights would whisper/talk every now and then but it was quite loud and I couldn’t make out what they were saying. Hunter and I leaned in and could hear them whispering though. John looked at us like we were crazy and asked what we were doing. I pointed to the knight and said “He’s whispering sweet nothings to you!” John and his poor “I can’t hear anything because I’ve worked around loud machines all my life” self couldn’t hear anything even when he leaned over. :sad2:

He's saying, "Be sure to drink your Ovaltine."

The sandwiches that John and Hunter ordered were pretty big and Hunter didn’t eat all of his. John and I both tasted of Hunter’s and John said that the turkey (even though he isn’t a turkey fan) was better than the roast beef. I sampled both the turkey and the roast beef and agreed that the turkey was better. Now, I’m not saying that the roast beef was bad, just that the turkey was a bit better. My sandwich? While it was simple, it was good. The fries had a nice seasoning on them and were nice and warm.

They all looked pretty decent from the pictures. I'll have to remember not to bother with the beef.

And, last but not least, the lemon meringue cupcake:

Ding ding ding! We have a winner!

Each of them were really good but we had one complaint....I hate those cupcake wrapper things they are in. We wanted to take them off but it was too difficult and we gave up.:faint: Maybe there’s a trick to getting them off and we were too dumb to figure it out?

"When in doubt...C4." --Jaime Hyneman, Mythbusters

The attention to detail is amazing:

Sure looks like an amazing restaurant!

Annnnd, I couldn't leave without getting a picture of the pantsless gent in the mural (sorry, people were taking pictures in front of it so there's a shoulder in the picture):

:rotfl::rotfl2:

Where to next? :confused3 How about It’s A Small World? Sounded good to all three of us so we made a right and saw that many others were going that direction as well:

Really? Everybody agreed to that?:confused3

The castmember waved a goodbye to us all and we were on our way through the hip shaking, monkey laughing, tightrope walking attraction affectionately referred to as the Slow Boat to China by Mrs. Katmark. (Or is it the slow boat to nowhere or possibly the slow boat to h-e double hockey sticks :rotfl:?) Kathy, help me out here.

I'm gonna go with the latter.

Of course, John didn’t see the pig, he had his eyes closed:

Didn’t surprise me one bit. He had a good lunch in his stomach, he was floating along, little children were serenading him, what better place was there to get some shut eye?

That's really the only way to experience the ride. :rolleyes1

I remember being hugely disappointed when I was down there in 2010 and it was down for refurbishment:

Coming back with replies later but I had to say "Thank you Mark for the picture!" I needed that laugh this morning.

Man, I got behind!

Happy Anniversary!~ 30 years! That's fantastic. party:

I happen to love the Tiki Room. We sing that song all the time at my house.

Love your BTMRR pics! We're taking my 5 year old on that for the first time in a few weeks. She can't wait!

Your candy looked really good, but I have to agree, Skittles mixed with M&M's, :crazy2:

I love your turnstile story. My DH and I would be laughing hysterically at that, so you're definitely not alone.

I'm so glad you posted the BOG lunch pics! We just got an invite for a lunch FP there and took advantage, so now I'm super excited to eat there! I know we're going to have a hard time deciding what room to sit in.

I love the picture of John sleeping on IASW and Hunter looking at him like he's crazy.

Well, you have been very busy with updates, but I am all caught up. Thanks for the links, I had to skip the chit chat :(

I think you nailed the best part about the Tiki Birds- the air conditioning!

I love Big Thunder! I'm glad that a serial killer didn't accompany you on the ride this year.

I used to love those Country Bear, always a must do, but it has ben a few years (or 10) since we have seen the show. Somehow, I think it would all come back to me if we went.

I enjoyed reading about your Be Our Guest lunch. What a gorgeous restaurant!!!

I was there Tuesday. I don't think we got a rose, or maybe they gave it to the woman I ate with and I just didn't notice. I'm a sucker for passionfruit anything, so I went with the cream puff, but looking at your cupcakes I have buyers remorse.

Your pictures of Small World are great. You are right, there is a lot, and always something new, to see on that ride.

:goodvibes:

PS- I did find the "bird poop" Hidden Mickey at Hurricane Hanna's. There's actually a few of them on the pilings around the pool. A CM commented to me about them.

:lmao:

Lisa, we were having dinner at Cracker Barrel tonight and I saw this sign that reminded me of you! I can so hear you saying this! ;)

(I almost bought it for DH, actually :lmao:)

I am joining the All-Caught-Up Club!

Just a comment about the BOG cupcakes. I read that these cupcakes are meant to be spooned out the so-called wrapper because the wrapper really isn't intended to be removed.

Hopefully it won't be weeks again before I get back!

thanks for the pics of Be our Guest! I am trying to sang a FP. I was thinking of the pork roast meal (best use of a CS credit) but after so many years of "free" dining, we are trying to get what we really want, not just the most expensive thing. (but I really do like pork roast, and I think it comes with green beans or some type of veggie.

anyhow, those sandwiches look might yummy, I was thinking is nebo gets the turkey and I get the roast beef, we could cut them in half and swap. heck, when I get my 2 halves, I might mix them up and have a turkey/roast beef sub!

(we just have to get rid of that arugula they keep trying to pass off as lettuce these days! :rotfl: what's a gal gottat do to get a leaf of crunchy iceberg lettuce on her sandwich?)

Ok so I am now caught up on your latest updates. WOW you wrote like wild fire since I posted last!

There is only so much you can fit in at MK so I was glad to see your report on both Tiki Room and Country Bears Jambore. Even though we had two days at MK we never did fit either of these in. What a shame because I think the boys would have loved both of them.

I love your Big Thunder Railroad picks. I just can not seems to get clear pictures of any rides while I am on them and I have a good camera:(
I sure would like to know how your guys do it as well as how many get the indoor shots like Haunted Mansion and Peter Pan to come out so clear:confused:

I am not even sure I notice Rapunzel's Bathrooms. Now I am on a mission on my next trip to go inside to see what it is like:thumbsup2

Don't you just love the detail in BOG! I am so glad you posted the carved Prime Roast Beef Sandwich. I have been debating on getting it or the French onion soup the next time I go. I wish the soup came with Pomme Fries.
I have to agree though seems she got the shaft.

There is always a laugh a day in your reports!
If I were Rapunzel made me laugh a lot; permission to crack that joke on my next trip?

They really did do a great job on BOG. It's beautiful. We have eaten there for lunch and dinner and love both. The pork roast for lunch is to die for! If you do go for dinner in May, you should try the steak or the scallop and shrimp pastry...amazing!

DS and I discussed it and we are going to try to do IASM in December. Apparently I am a bad mother and have avoided it every time he has been with me. I think I took him when he was 2 or 3 but alas, that does not count in his eyes since he can't remember it. I am sure DH will be enjoying nap time in there just as yours did. :rotfl:

Wow, I was out of town working for a couple of weeks and really got behind! Great updates! Congratulations on the big anniversary! I don't know why you apologized about the slowness of updates - I couldn't figure out how you had time to post ANY, especially with that big old garden to get into jars and the freezer! You are going to have some great eating again this winter. My mother did all of that, but she and you are better women than I!! :thumbsup2

Loved all the updates. They were practically a primer on how to survive hot days in the Magic Kingdom! You hit lots of cool spots, but I just can't stay with you on the bears. I just think it is way overdue for refurbishment and some new jokes!

I especially enjoyed seeing Be Our Guest. I haven't been in several years and I have a LOT to catch up on!

Sorry about some of the issues of life getting in the way - hope Mama has had great checkups and John is more stable. Guess Hunter is busy getting back in the swing of school. Hope he has a great year - can't believe he is a JUNIOR!

Nice to see the origin of the seeds.

That would be a slow boat to China my dear friend. I think the lines are confusing everyone now that you can get a FP+ for the slow boat to China.

Okay, I'll admit it...I never knew there was a pig there either.

And I'm riding with John next time...we can both nap. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I am surprised that you even know that there is a FP line for It's A Small World since I am betting you would never FP it. Actually, maybe you would so you could just get it over with.:rotfl:

I agree about finding new things on It's a Small World. The more times I ride a ride the more I get into the little details of things. I see something different each time.
We are still undecided on when we should take our trip next year and had a question for you. I know you go the last week of May and first week of June. Do you see a big difference with crowds increasing as you get into the 2nd week ? I wish we could make up our minds on when to go :rotfl: We may go the first week in June so I wondered if there is any difference.

There always seems to be something different to look at or something that I missed before.

The crowds do get a little heavier the further you get into the month of June. I'd say that you'd be fine the first week of June. That's when part of our vacations usually are.

Catching up (Thank you for the links!! ;)) But thought I'd comment real quick! First...Ohana is the same for my family! I don't book because they want something new and then I get "You mean we aren't going to Ohana!?" So now I book and will cancel if we decide closer to the trip! Keith would drive the 11 hours to Orlando just to eat at Ohana!!

So I see your Flower and Garden pictures and I am thinking "I wish it looked like this all year" and then I read this:

Is this what you posted on Facebook tonight? Your piece of Epcot? If so how super cool!!!!

ETA: All caught up now!! Maybe I can stay on track at least for a little while!!

Now that you have Madison in college, maybe things will slow down. Yeah right, not if your household is anything like mine.

I don't care if the family says we aren't eating at Ohana and not to make an ADR there. I'm doing it anyway so I don't have to stress out on trying to find a reservation later.

Yep, that's what I was talking about on Facebook. I have four trees coming up now. I'm so excited!

I definitely liked the turkey sandwich both times I've had lunch at BOG. I very much enjoyed my dinner too, but I know others haven't had as good of an experience. :confused3 George and I are going to go there for both meals in December.

I like It's a Small World, though I can certainly understand how John could easily sleep on it, given how often you've told of us of his naps! :lmao:

I am not sure if we'll eat dinner or just lunch at Be Our Guest next trip. I may go ahead and book a dinner since the reservations are hard to get and then cancel it after we get the planning down pat.

Oh it's so funny, I was reading the update and saw this picture and before I scrolled down and saw what you wrote under it, I was remembering exactly that! LOL :goodvibes

I get confused every single time. I feel like I'm going the wrong way!

John - snoozing through IASW! :rotfl: Perfect time for a little shut-eye. Gotta rest up for the rest of the park!!!!

Used to, John's medication would make him fall asleep a LOT but now it's not so bad. However, when we are on Small World, you can pretty much bet that he's going to take a nap.

OMG mixing the M&Ms and skittles is something that Chase, my (DH), wants to do for our wedding. He thinks it will be hilarious to trick people! I have vetoed that idea, but he still talks about it and I am pretty sure he is going to try it. LOL

Noooooooooo! That would be mean! But, I am sure that the guests would get over it pretty quickly since they are going to be there for such a great occasion.:thumbsup2

We usually try to order three different entrees so that we can sample one another's. But, at times, two of us will order the same thing because that "same thing" is something delicious!
