My anxiety is increasing as I am doing my first DCL cruise in a wheelchair tomorrow. I've never used Disney transportation to port before, either. I'm told that DCL transportation will be accessible for me and I won't be separated from my chair or my family for the trip. But I'm still worried about it being a big bus with steep stairs that I just can't do. Can anyone make me feel better that I won't be living a nightmare tomorrow morning? Does DCL use a bus like a regular WDW bus where I can stay in my scooter (previously) or in my WC without having to transfer at all?

Last November we used DCL transport and had a wheelchair on board. They loaded her first in her chair and her immediate family sat around her. They had extended family as well who sat around the bus. The rest of us boarded after that family. But you will be loaded first and your family with you so you won't be left alone.

DCL transfers use coach-style buses. The accessible buses have a lift at the back; you’ll ride up in your wheelchair and then be strapped in on the bus. However, as PP mentions you have to inform them of your need for an accessible bus. Not all the buses are accessible.
