I was just checking the Ground Transportation prices for the MCO to Disney Cruise Lines. I didn't check the other cruise lines prices, Royal Caribbean and Carnival...

2 Adults 1 Child $207.00
2 Adults 3 Children $345.00
3 Adults 0 Children $207.00
4 Adults 0 Children $276.00

You can obtain car service, from MCO, for 1 - 10 passengers for around $200.00 if you use transportation other than Disney. With the car service you get "meet and greet" service at the airport, a private vehicle and only your family to contend with, no waiting around and fast service to the Port (45 minutes), car seats if you have a small child, immediate return to MCO as soon as you leave the ship (45 minutes), transportation fees do not have to be paid 3 months before the cruise, as you usually pay the car service when you are dropped off at the port.

When you get to the transportation page ordering your cruise check out the ground transportation quote for your group. Any combination of two groups of passengers will definitely save the cruiser a bunch of money. ... There are plenty of ... companies listed on the internet that are very reputable.
True, towncars generally are priced by the vehicle (size and kind) while bus shuttles are priced by the person.

I would not feel comfortable picking a company sight unseen out of the yellow pages or on the internet. OT: A lot of people did that with moving van companies and got burned/screwed.

There is one unique advantage Disney's own transportation offers: In case of a foulup on the way to the port, Disney will hold the ship or get you to the next port of call.

By the way, child seats are mandatory in "cars" and forbidden in "buses". In the case of DCL/DME transportation, any child seat you brought goes under.

deleted my post because I see this thread is duplicated in another thread and I assume this thread may be deleted by a moderator as redundant.

(11/10) Original thread is back:

No need to keep this one going.

(11/12) Original thread vanished again. Not sure whether to unclose this thread, allow possible barbs and flames to infiltrate it (subject to random surgical unilateral sudden removal) and then this thread will vanish too or maybe this thread will vanish too anyway.

There should be no reason for flames or barbs here. It is just a simple statement of some prices. No one is advertising for any one company, or even suggesting that other companies are less than good choices. If people remember to be civil and polite, and allow others to have their opinions/feelings heard, then all should be fine. Carry on!

This isn't really anything new. Parties of 4 and usually even 3 will save money with transportation that's priced per vehicle as opposed to using a shuttle service.

This applies to most cruise transfers, not just Disney. It applies to most aiports. A family of 4 taking a cruise from Miami will usually save money taking a cab vs using the cruise line transfers. It also applies to airport transfers from almost any airport to resorts.

Almost any of the car service companies will save 3 or 4 guests money. Guests that need specialty vehicles such as large vans, hummers or stretch limos should check prices. Almost all of the companies have similar prices on standard vehicles such as towncars but prices vary more with specialty vehicles.

If I supplied car service this is a market I'd go after. Famlies can save money and get personalzied service.

The original thread has disappeared and there was some good information from other OP's on it. You are not required to take the bus transportation provided by, any of the three cruise lines operating out of Port Canaveral. In fact a lot of money and time can be saved by inquiring with the car service companies listed on the internet for transportation directly from Orlando International Airport (MCO) or Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB).

The use of internet transportation companies has become a common practice now. Companies that have been listed on the Disboards threads will usually be your first choice as they have been reviewed by many passengers. There are also other boards similiar to Disboards that will steer you in the direction of a car service company. Many companies that are found on the internet have been very reputable transportation companies for many years.

If you have used car service to the Port and can help with information about them you are invited to participate in this thread.

The price for the Carnival Cruise lines is $52.00 per person round trip to the Port. The price of Royal Caribbean is $65.00 per person round trip. I received this information from a travel agent this morning. Traveling to the Port by car service with a group of 3 or more, guarantees you saving a few bucks and quite a bit of time. The car service rate for 1 - 10 passengers averages $220.00 round trip for everyone.
