Disney cruise honeymoon

Hi everyone,

My fiancee and are planning to have our wedding at WDW in march of 2008 (I know it's sooo far away, but I have to graduate college first ). My question is about our honeymoon. I am a Disney fanatic (he likes Disney a lot too), and he is a cruising fanatic (I like cruising a lot too). Currently we are booked on Royal Caribbean's new ship Freedom of the Seas sailing the Eastern Caribbean for our honeymoon. We were planning to stay a few days in Disney after the wedding and leave for the cruise. Now we are seriously considering (almost positive about it) changing the honeymoon to do a 7 day cruise on Disney's cruise ship the Magic after spending a few days in Disney.

I was wondering if anyone has gone on a Disney cruise for their honeymoon? If you have could you please tell me how it was? Was it romantic and "honeymoonish"? Also how was it with all of the kids on the ship? I hear that it is not a big deal because there are so many activities for them, but I was just wondering from a honeymooners perspective. Thank you very much.

Also if anyone has been on both Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Line and could offer a comparison that would be greatly appreciated too.

We are going on the 7 day Western for our Honeymoon. I will let you know how it is. I know that I have gone as an adult with no kids, and it was really nice. There is alot of adults to do and yes kids are around, but I didn't find them intrusive.

We did the 7 night Western without the kids last year and Jonette is right - we had a great time and even though there are kids on board they were not intrusive at all. We're doing the 7 night Western Double Dip this November with the kids (and having our wedding at Castaway Cay) and then going on the 7 night Eastern next November for your 1st anniversary.

DCL has been my only cruise experience so unfortunately I can't compare to other lines.

I have never been on a Disney cruise, however, I have been on the Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Sea last November. I too am getting married on the Disney Magic, but in December and can't wait to be on the ship. RC was nice, a lot cheaper, however, the shows were not too good, only good one was the Ice Skating show, I don't like the whole casino thing either. The Royal Promenade area was really nice though. Pools were salt water and I don't like salt water. Can't wait to go in the nice disney pools. We chose RC because of all the options, however, we never did go ice skating, never used the rock climbing wall, didn't use much of the "cool" stuff they have on board. My fiance and I went together, just the two of us. Lets say it wasn't too hard to say, lets get married on the Disney Cruise Ship with not being on it before. I would do another RC cruise again, big price difference compared to Disney. If I couldn't swing disney, my next option would be RC. Do what makes you happy! It's your honeymoon, no matter which ship you chose, you will make the best of it

We just returned from our first Disney cruise. Love it, Booked 2008. We was planning to renew our vows in Hawaii, but I love the thought of your castaway cay idea. would you mind telling how your going about putting this together. I did not know this could be done. I will be looking forwards to hearing about your trip, as well as photo.

I think it would be lovely for a honeymoon. We went in December with the kids, but I hardly even saw my own kids - let alone anyone elses, as they were all too busy at the clubs.

I think it would be really romantic. When we were there the adults beach at Castaway Cay was practically desserted. We would have done it for our honeymoon, if we'd not just been on the cruise in December.
