Disney Cruise complimentary gifts - Bag?

Hi - I really doubt it but I thought I'd ask. I saw someone on youtube posting their trip on the Disney cruise. They received a Disney Cruise bag in their stateroom along with pirate eye patch, pirate earring and pirate head gear. I know about the pirate cap you get but what about the bag?

I'm assuming it was a special cruise or something.

Returning cruises on DCL get a gift. It's usually a beach bag of some sort. First time cruisers don't get the gift.

Everyone will get the pirate bandanna on pirate night, regardless of how many cruises they've been on. But there's no eye patch, earring, etc.

It is possible they are Castaway Cay Club members (2 or more cruises) or their Travel Agent bought it for them. I've never received that much pirate gear before but for Castaway Cay Club we usually get a bag and dry erase magnet with dry erase marker.

Oddly this is the 2nd time this has come up.

That would make sense. I think the first thread was before the DVC cruise but I'm not 100% sure as the days are starting to just blend together now that we are towards the end of the year haha.

The basic (Silver) gift is a bag of some sort. It varies based on the itinerary what type of bag. Generally the Caribbean/Bahama cruises get a beach bag, the Alaska cruises have gotten a sling bag in the past, and the European cruises have gotten a backpack.

Gold CC level gets the silver gift (bag) as well as an additional gift. Recently it's been a tervis-style tumbler. In the past it was a photo album, or a write on/wipe off board.

Platinum gets the silver & gold gift and a choice of (currently) a fruit bowl, sparkling wine, or truffles.

I was on this year's DVC Member Cruise and did not receive anything other then the pirate themed bandanna.

Gold also gets a 10% discount in the stores onboard, as well as an invitation to the Gold/Platinum reception with some of the ship officers.
