We have just booked our VR for the dream cruise on 2nd September 2012. They are saying it will probably be on sea day but I was hoping for Nassau day, do you think they might be able to do that?

Hi everyone...we are getting married in June on the Magic! I hav a couple of questions...first, we are trying to decide on a photography package and were considering the $999 one but what the heck would I do with 30 8x10s?!! Seriously? I couldn't possible hang them all up and I don't know of 30 people who would want my wedding pic in their house! Does anyone know if they would let me substitute different sizes and/or other pics from the cruise?

Secondly, I know it is getting close but I have NO idea what to wear. This is a second wedding for us both and it is only me, my fiance, our 3 kids, my mom and my neice going. I don't know if I should be looking for a big white gown or something simpler! Any ideas??? Help!

Congratulations on your wedding. I'm so happy for you getting to celebrate on the Magic!

I thought the same thing about the packages. I don't know if they will let you substitute sizes. I plan to order the small package and add the CD for $399 more. Then I can print what ever size I want.

As far as the dress goes. Do what makes you feel happy. Dont worry about what people think. We are doing a VR in June and I ordered an actual wedding dress, but not a big, poofy, ball gown. I would just feel silly. The gown is beautiful and sophisticated. I actually thought about cutting off the train, but my DD thought that was ridiculous and told me to keep the train! The gown is taking 3 months to come in, so start looking now. The designer is Pronovius if you are interested in a more sophisticated look. I'm getting the Palau dress.

Thanks! I know I need to get looking soon...ack! My mom and I are going to go this weekend with my DD. If it was upto DD8, I would be wearing the biggest, puffiest dress ever, and she would be as well! I'm going to check out your designer, at least it gives me a place to start. Thanks again! And congratulations to you too! You're doing your VR on the Fantasy? Bet it will be beautiful!

Me too!! ;) We'll both be busy little bees for the next month (and a half)!! :goodvibes

Seriously! There are NOT enough emoticons to show my excitement!!

I so agree! Now that its getting close I have so many things that I want to do now:) My crafty mind is starting to kick in :D

I know a few of the brides on here that did VR's wore a dress from Alfredo Angelo that was short in front, long in back. It's really very pretty and seems to be kind of a DISboards thing! I agree though, get whatever makes you feel good. It's your day, not anyone else's!

It's so bad isn't it! I'm trying like crazy to avoid starting anymore projects. Have you looked up your sailing yet? A lot of them have their own cruise-meet boards and have set up FE's. I would not recommend participating in an FE this trip (esp if you're making favors for your guests like I did), but it's fun to talk to other people that will be on ship with you. My group is really starting to get going now that we're about 6 weeks out!

Do you guys have a list of upcoming weddings? We will be on a cruise in May and I'm curious if any disbrides are getting married!

at the time I did my wedding it was from their Destiny collection..I don't know what it is called now, but they still make it

With so many recent brides/VRs, I was wondering if anyone would mind sharing their cake flavors and how they were. TIA!

Our top tier was yellow cake with vanilla bean filling (really yummy)
Bottom was yellow with chocolate caramel ganache ( not as good but ok)

The cake was huge and there were 8 of us. So we each had a piece then we left the rest for the crew in our dining room. They loved it and were happy for the treat.

Hello to all my brides-VR "comrades"!!!

Quick note to provide you all with an update regarding my plans. I finalized it all with Shanda (really nice lady btw), and was able to know in advance that I would get married the 2nd day at sea (we're on the 7 days Eastern on the Fantasy). Our wedding will be in Outlook Cove @ 5:30pm local time, and after a quick ceremony+cake cutting+pics (it's just the 2 of us, no other guests, we're eloping...:cool1:), we're heading to Remy for our wedding dinner. Just as an FYI, if you choose to do that, Shanda cannot book Remy for you, she can only book Palo (I know...strange!). We're having our included Palo dinner on the last day at sea.

I have chosen the "Under the Sea Cake" (I will let you know how it tastes...) and we are inviting all of our Disboard new friends from our June 16th Fantasy thread to share the cake with us, as clearly this would be too much for 2 people, and we can't take it back home with us!

I found a great Tory Burch white/black cocktail dress that will fit perfectly as a 60s style wedding.

Flower-wise, I stuck to the classic red roses.

Only thing left to do is to order the marriage license, though I can't really do that until April, since the license is valid only for 60 days after issuance.

All in all, it took me less than 3 hours to plan everything! I think it takes me longer to prepare my New Year's Eve outfit/party. Woo hoo!!

Hope all of your planning is going smoothly!

Congratulations on your up coming wedding!! The color choices sound very nice.

How do you already know the exact date and time? We are having our VR on the June 2 Eastern and I was told they won't confirm a day and time until 45 days prior to sailing. Which makes it hard to plan the cruise activities.

I want to know too. Any one have chocolate cake? We were thinking vanilla/lemon and chocolate/choc mouse.

Our flavors were white cake with vanilla butter cream icing as our bottom tier, and chocolate lovers (chocolate cake/icing) as our top tier.

Unfortunately, I can't really comment on the flavor because the cake was still too ice cold from the freezer for us to really taste anything. That was the only part of the wedding that was pretty disappointing. At least the cake itself was pretty!

I would like to know too, although we're already set in stone on choc cake with raspberry buttercream as our top tier and vanilla with milk choc caramel ganache (DF's pick) as bottom tier.

Our cake was marble (although it just looked like the chocolate and vanilla were mixed) with white chocolate mousse filling and it was absolutely WONDERFUL!! SO yummy and I am a picky cake person!

i would LOVE another piece of my cake..I had yellow cake with almond buttercream and then Chocolate Palo sauce to drizzle over..it was so yummy. We had the top tier the next night at dinner PLUS a big cake that the Head Waiter had made for us..I think the crew had alot of cake that night because we still didn't eat it all!
