goldie your magic kingdom photos are breathtaking! i wish i could do something like that .. but i cant see myself paying more money for photos ... and getting someone to do my hair cause we are getting married the 2nd day on the cruise so we have a full day at cast away cay the next day ..

PrincessHeather - It is all what is important to you. I did my own hair for the Magic Kingdom Photos (and for the wedding too) but I did order a new ($300) Bouquet for the photos. I just could not see myself having a Disney wedding and not getting pictures in front of the castle! We ended up adding the Epcot shoot on as well, but it did not hold the Magic like the Magic Kingdom one did!

WOW you're pictures are just beautiful. how did you get them with no one in the back ground? did they let you in the park after hours to do the photoshoot?

makes me want to get married all over again.

Actually they picked us up at 4:45am!!!! We were in the park before the sun came up! Talk about early! 3am is one early wake up call! But I would do it all over again! MAGICAL!!!

oh my god - really???

i think i'd just stay awake.

but how amazing was that. in the park just you two and your photographer.

wow - wonder if you can buy that photo package without getting married there.

by the way - who did your hair if you were up that early?

You have to be a Disney Bride or a DCL bride to get the photo shoot! It was part of the fuel for my Disney wedding. LOL I NEEDED those pictures.

I did my own hair, but the local hair dressers who do alot of Disney weddings come out early and do hair and make up.

It wasn't just us there. There were lots of workers painting and cutting grass and scrubbing sidewalks! It was AMAZING. We drove right up and parked next to the Merry Go Round. We walked all around and then drove over next splash mountian. It was great. We then drove to Epcot. It was so weird to be driving around the Magic Kingdom!

Oh and I didn't want to stay up cause I didn't want to look tired! Afterwards we were dropped off at the hotel around 9:30am and we slept for hours and hours!

how fun though.

we are thinking of a vr for our 10th on the cruise - what package includes the early am pics around the world? and how much extra was it (if you don't mind answering-

Hi
Any of the DFTW packages can have the park shoot added. It is about $1100.00 for one park and $1400.00 for two parks and another $750.00 if you want to puchase the CD of the images, so not cheap!!! However, I agree that Lisa's photos are breathtaking.
There have been a few posts stating that because of the Fantasyland construction, there will be no early morning shoots for a year or so at leasrt. One shoot per day will be allowed and that will start at 7.30am. So no more pictures in the dark for a while now!!! HTH and sorry for jumping in, but since I had the answer, I thought I would say hi and good luck with your VR. I am a VR bride too!!

Kurby, No package includes the pictures around the world, they can be added on to any VR or wedding package! When we did it we paid $1250.00 for both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot!

So, we can't afford to bring a photographer with us- we took the last inside staterooms on our cruise a few months ago, and even those were $1200 each, and now the cheapest available are over $1800. I know several photographers will trade a cruise for photos, but there's no way I can justify that much money, even if an inside stateroom opened up, for a few pictures. The thing is, people seem to be very unhappy with their pics through Disney, so in your opinion, is it worth the money to have a photographer at all? Would we be better off just using the Shutters photopass type thing they have on the ship and island, just going from photographer to photographer? Has anyone done this? Call me crazy, but even their cheapest wedding photo package seems awfully expensive for what you get. TIA!! :goodvibes

This could work, but honestly my thought is this: The photopass-type photographers are walking around taking pictures of the hundreds of guests aboard the ship. You really aren't going to get many pictures that way at all. I would do this of course, but here's my other suggestion:

Buy a nice, but inexpensive digital camera and single out a guest of yours that you know has a good artistic eye. Ask them if they'd be willing to do your photos and you could give them a donation for their help. Many of us know people who are handy with a camera--hopefully that's the case for you!

Kimmy - keep checking..the Florida Resident rates came out 30 days before our sailing (and the photographer would be a Fl resident right?) and we got a refund AND a upgraded cabin..
I waited until 30 days before we sailed to confirm a photographer too..I know that isn't the way you want to plan this, but you still have a few months to try and work it out.

That is a good idea and we did think about it, but we're only having out parents and my sister, so we don't really have an extra person to take the pics. Maybe I'll check the cruise meet board- thanks!

Oohh awesome idea! Thank you! I had no idea they released rates that close to cruising. DCL virgin here! lol I haven't looked into bringing a photographer, as I thought it would be cost prohibitive, but there's no doubt that if I did they would be a FL resident. Buffalo isn't exactly an artsy place- we're am more of a drinking town with a sports problem, hahaha

Another opinion please- If we do bring a photographer it will still be more expensive than we budgeted for. So, if you had to choose between awesome wedding photography and the MK photo shoot, what would you do? There both once in a lifetime opportunities, and one of the main reasons we booked a DFTW was for the MK photo shoot- he proposed in front of the castle so we both really want wedding pics there

IMHO I would go with getting some lovely wedding photos - but I am not the biggest fan of the MK photo shoots!!

ya know..there is some complaints about photography, but if it came down to not having a photographer there other than snapshots..I would say go with the DCL photographer.

I wasn't thrilled with the photographer..but there are a few shots that are priceless to me..it is a thing you will need to decide on. If you aren't happy with them, there is nothing to say you have to keep them..you could tell Shutters that you don't like them and not take the package.

That was my problem..I had several friends that had great Nikon cameras to shoot with, but in the back of my mind, I was afraid of not having a ship photographer..so I bit the bullet. Between all of them, I got the shots I loved

I didn't know you could refuse the package after the photos we're taken! Oh that's a huge relief!! I feel much better going with them now! Thank you!

Hello to the past brides! i have a ceremony question...

i know that they don't offer pastors on the ship for the ceremony.. but if you asked them to.. can they include some bible verses in the ceremony?
