Disney Cruise Booking on Points Question

Let's start with this.

Yes, I KNOW the "Points Police" will be on here having a stroke.... I don't really care. These are my points and if I want to book a cruise I will. Feel free to post all the great reasons I shouldn't... I won't change my mind, I won't rent my points, but I know you have to show me the error of my ways.


Now is there a 'discount' for booking on board like there is for cash? I am actually thinking of booking a Med 2012 cruise (I am going to have a lot of points left over from this year so....) in their usual disorganized fashion Disney hasn't released details on these cruises. (Gee why would we want to be able to be compared with the competion) I know there have been problems transferring reservations lately but I would probably have to do that thanks to thier lack of plannig Any thoughts on that?


The only way Disney gets the cruise is on points if I can't work that out I am on another line. LOL!

I believe that if you call MS within 3 days of the end of a cruise you sailed on you do get a discount (10% possibly) on the number of points.

We like using our points to cruise; don't want to deal with renting! Can't answer your question though.

Yes, you get a points discount for booking within 3 days of getting off the ship. The DVC people on the cruise line do not have those numbers, you have to call member services to get the points discount. We booked the Mexican Riviera after getting off of our cruise to the Bahamas, and received a discount we were very happy with. We are of the same belief, they are our points and we will spend them as we determine to do so.
