Disney Cosmetology vs outside hair and make up people

I was just wondering how many of you got or are getting done up by disney cosmetology. Or is you used an outside source. Did you save money? Were you happy with your service and who did it? I am a hairdresser (not practicing right now) and am very picky. Please feel free to post pictures of your hair and makeup here. Thanks!

Disney cosmetology no longer exists. Everyone has to use outside vendors now.

However, some of the people who used to work for Disney cosmetology are now among the list of outside vendors.

Oh. Good to know. I thought Ivy Trellis did hair and make up for some reason. I can do my own make up (unless someone else can do it better which I doubt) but an updo is a little tricky. Can anyone suggest outside hair makeup people and post some pics of the finished product? I don't want to look like a clown!

Ivy Trellis does do hair, but not makeup. They aren't Disney though - it's an idependent company that rents the space. I didn't realize that there are quite a few things around DIsney that aren't Disney owned...

I would have never guessed that Ivy Trellis wasn't disney. Strange.

Yeah, I didn't learn that until I was there for my planning session. I mentioned Ivy Trellis to my planner and she gave me the scoop. I guess most of the spas are the same. Also, many of the restaurants in EPCOT are privately owned. WHo knew??

We used the Ivy trellis ...I needed hair for 10 ladies and didn’t want to rent a room or try to do it all in the hotel room……they did a great job, the girls are very friendly and professional...it was 75 for hair and 50 for makeup (we ended up having a friend do makeup) for bridesmaids it was 65 for hair (back in 06 don’t know about price increases)....but Ivy trellis also gives 10% discounts for fl residents (just incase anyone in the group is)

A friend of mine is doing my hair and makeup but I am going to have my BM get theirs done at Ivy Trellis. My sister as well as MOH got her hair done there during our summer vacation last year and she loved it...
