I am curious to know if anyone has or knows anyone that has applied to Disney's College Program, that is older than what would be deemed "traditional college age"?........... Thank you

All I know is that you have to be enrolled in a college to be in the program, so I guess it doesn't matter how old you are, as long as you're in school.

I applied at the age of 26, but then had to pull my name out because of military stuff with my hubby. I was thinking I was too old, but since you need to do that program to get into most management positions, I think it is worth it at any age, as long as you are in school. I would give just about anything to work at Disney - too bad I cannot live down there at this point in my life. :P

Have you considered applying now? I say, give it your all. If you are still so very interested in taking part in the program. You have my vote of confidence, in that you can still do it! :goodvibes

Thank you for your replies. I had been reading before posting, information about Disney's College Program, and that is the conclusion that I had arrived at as well. Being, for as long as you are at least 18 and enrolled in college, and have completed at least one semester of college then you can apply. The question is what are the odds that one will be accepted, if you are older?

I graduated last spring so I am no longer eligable. Thanks for the confidence though :) Someday, even if I have to wait until I am retired, I will work there.

The Disney College Program at both domestic resort sites is open to all persons 18 years of age who are registered students of a recognized U.S. College, University or other Post-Secondary Institution, and who hold unlimited authorization to work in the United States.

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts US, Inc., as well as The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies, are Equal Opportunity Employers, drawing creativity from diversity. All valid applications for employment through Participation in the Disney College Program are treated equally without regards to various factors such as gender, age, national origin, sexual orientation, etc..

My son's former girlfriend's mom (who was in her mid 40's) went back to school and applied for the college program at WDW and lived down there for at least a semester of school. She loved the program and still works at one of the hotels in FL at least once a year (during a busy season) and is able to keep her employment status and get a lot of the perks of being an employee.

Thank you for that story. It is actually quite surprising, and pleasantly so at that. I am glad that she did not talk herself out of applying.

I depends on what you plan to do afterwards. If you plan to stay working at Disney, i really suggest you to just apply directly with Disney.

After your done with the college program, you will lose ALL your seniority with the company and you have to restart all over again.

My friend's fiance (who she met on the college program!) was 26 or 27 when he did the College Program.

Edit: this was at WDW
