I have a dd (almost 7) that currently wears a size 10/12. She's always been the tallest and most built kid in her class so I'm having a difficult time finding shirts, tanktops, costumes, etc for our trip in August. The Disney store shirts that are 10/12 are too fitted so I'd like a size 14/16. I'd like to buy them ahead of time to surprise her.

Thanks for any help you can offer.:goodvibes

Acck! No. I've had the same problem. My oldest has always been big for her age. We bring our own princess dress, then usually buy the smallest women's size in clothes.

Justice for Girls has a few Mickey/Disney tops, and they carry the sizes you're looking for.

Going custom is another option. You may not want to go too elaborate, but there are many wonderful designers who could do a simple appliqued shirt. Check out the DISboutique board.

You could go to Etsy and search Disney customs. You will find several people that will make outfits and embroider or appliqué teeshirts for you using her measurements so they will fit perfectly.

If she's also taller, and not just heavy, you could definitely get away with buying something from the juniors/womens department. Delia*s has a super-cute Minnie Ears top, and I've seen cute ones at Justice too.

Or go to the Creative Disigns thread here and make your own iron on tees for her. You can make exactly what you want and it is really easy and buy the proper fitting shirts for her! It is much cheaper too!

I've found that the Disney Store boy's shirts I've gotten run way bigger than the girls. My DD wears 14 also, but I've gotten some boys 10/12 that are plenty big. The ones that don't look too boyish...actually that's the only way she can get Goofy shirts as they don't put him on girls shirts. A couple years ago I bought her a boys 7/8 Goofy shirt and a 10/12 once, not knowing which one would fit. She's still wearing the 7/8 but it's getting time to move to the 10/12 soon.

But I guess that might not be true for all of the boys shirts.

The boys shirts are a lot bigger if there are any that she likes. DS11 (95 lbs.) and DD7 (57 lbs.) both got the "same" size shirt from the Disney store yesterday. DS's size 10/12 was about 4 inches longer and a couple inches wider than DD's 10/12.

A couple other possibilities:
1) A woman's small. Make sure it is a woman's cut though, not an adult or men's or it will be huge.
2) Occasionally Disney Store does a tween line for some things.(HSM, Camp Rock etc...) Maybe something will come out before your trip.
I do love the customs thought if you can get some.

Good luck! I realized yesterday that my first grader could not fit into any PJ's, bathing suits or flip flops at the Disney Store.:confused3 She is tall, but pretty thin. They are not making things very big at all. I was talking to the store manager whom I know well and she said people are not happy about it. Hopefully this will change.

Thanks for all the help.:thumbsup2 I'll definitely check all of those out!!
