Yeah I'm the first to post. Great update. Those drinks looked really great. The party looked great too. Can't wait for Castaway Cay.

My goodness you ladies are quick!!! :rotfl2:

The drinks were delicious! After looking at the pic, I think MJ & Roz had strawberry daquiris, pam & I had kahlua & cream and Judy had the chocolate martini.

We really did have fun! However I am looking forward to my trip with DH!!!

the pirate party looks like so much fun!!! i hope they're still doing this one day when i go on a cruise. probably not as it will be a few years from now. love the pics! :thumbsup2

It really was fun! pirate: The show was good, the characters went throughout the crowd on the main deck and the music was phenomenal!!! :dance3:

This was the night I realized just how much the CM's who are performers do on a cruise! One was the same guy that introduced when we came on board, a few we recognized from the stage shows and still more were just generally working throughout the ship when shows aren't being performed! I can imagine the lack of breaks for these people!

Dawn...thanks for reading! The next installment will be up soon!!!:hippie:

Sounds like a lovely evening, the fireworks at sea must have been amazing :goodvibes

RIGHT ON!!!!

Love the party!!!

Also sickly glad to see I'm not the only one who "doesn't DO mornings"!

The fireworks were beautiful! because it was so dark, they just sparkled in the sky!

RIGHT ON!!!!

Out of 5 of us, 3 "didn't do mornngs"! :rotfl2: Roz & I were up early every day and always waiting for the others. After the trip we realized we really should have left early and met up with them later. :confused3 Hindsight is 20/20.

Thanks for reading!!!!

I just realized how long it has been since my last udate. So sorry!

My goal is to complete the TR by tomorrow night. I think I will try to write some at work and then email it to myself. One more day...Castaway Cay, then we head home.:sad1:

Sorry it has taken me so long to fnish this TR, but it definitely is harder than it looks and I admire all of you that have written your own TR's over the years! :worship: I probably won't write another one to this exyent....however I may write a short versionof my 25th Anniversary trip in Sept....time will tell! ;)

So here we were in Castaway Cay and it was around 7:30 when the coffee was delivered to the room! (If any of you ever go on the cruise, I highly recommend this service if you are a coffee drinker. It was a great start to each day!) :thumbsup2 This morning we only had coffee, as we were headed to the breakfast buffet. The food was delicious and plentiful! Here is a pic of my plate:

IMG_1181.jpg

We thoroughly enjoyed every bite!!!

IMG_1182.jpg

We headed to the rail to get our first glimpse of castaway Cay and this is what we saw:

IMG_1179.jpg

IMG_1180.jpg

IMG_1178.jpg

Yup!!! That is the Flying Dutchman from the POTC movies!!!! We were so excited!!! Would this be the day we would finally meet Capt'n Jack??? We hoped so!!!!

We headed to the lower deck to disembark and as we made our way down the gangway the warm air hit us, the smell of the ocean and the tropical breezes beckoned to us.......it was to be a glorious day on the beach!!! WOOHOO!!! :woohoo:

We were following the crowd towards the beach when...what???...who???...is that really.......GOOFY!!!

IMG_1185.jpg

As I have said before, Judy  Goofy, but he needed to head inside so we couldn't get any pics with him. But as he went in....who should come out....is it really him????.....It can't be!?!...IT IS!!!!! JACK SPARROW!!!!

IMG_1205.jpg

He was headed over to the meet & greet area with the Flying Dutchman in the background so we hightailed it over there and actually beat him there!!!! We even snapped a few pics on the way....

IMG_1188.jpg

IMG_1190.jpg

IMG_1196.jpg

We semi-patiently waited in line to see Capt'n Jack with all the families with kids......who looked at us funny since we were 5 women with no kids....but who cares?!? We were so darn excited!!!! pirate:

We finally got to the front of the line and Roz had her "moment" with "Jack".

IMG_1207.jpg

IMG014.jpg

Then we all got to get our pic taken with him and had a blast!!! We joked around with him, and since I am "vertically challenged" I got in front of him. He kneed me in the rear accidentally and I said something about him kicking me....his reply was that it was his sword....Judy proceeded to ask him "Which One???" :scared1: We really joked with him as "adults" and he was very good at staying in character. Here we all are with Capt'n Jack:

IMG_1209.jpg

IMG018.jpg

And a good time was had by all!!!!!!

CON"T......

So we left Cap't Jack behind and headed to the "Adult Only" beach. That was one of the nice things about Castaway Cay.....we didn't have to be at the beach with all the kids! :thumbsup2 It was great!!!

Oh...I almost forgot! <smacking myself in the forehead> .......
We had passed a stand where they were offereing parasailing. Pam and Roz decided they wanted to do this, so they headed there and made the reservation before we headed to the tram to go to the adult beach.

OK...so we get to the adult beach, (I can't remember what it is called) and stake out our spot:

IMG_1214.jpg

(Can't seem to find the pics of me & Roz...oh well. :confused3 Just know we were there in the sun!):beach: There was only one problem with the adult beach that we found....it was at the tip of the peninsula we think and the wind whipped through there, so it was a little chilly at times. Not too chilly for Pam & Roz to swim in the ocean though!

IMG_1215.jpg

IMG_1216.jpg

A few hours we decided we needed to eat lunch, which is provided on the island including picnis fare...hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, tossed salad, fruit...you get the idea. The food was good and filling. It was nearing time for Pam & Roz to go parasailing so we headed back to the tram and to the main part of the island. Unfortunately I have no pictures of them parasailing, as the boat went too far out for us to see them. But while they went out, we found a new spot to catch some rays and read our books. MJ doesn't like to be in the sun too much, so she found her own "cabana"...

IMG_1223.jpg

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
Don't mock her...it worked!!!! (And since the chair was already there, someone used it before her!)

I met the other ladies up on the boardwalk so I could show them where we were. Roz came back, but Pam went exploring. I tried to give her directions to where we were, but she never was able to find us. We caught up with her back on the ship. Roz took a short break before we too headed to the ship....

IMG_1225.jpg

This was an absolutely glorious day and thoroughly enjoyable. I really think this was one of the best days of the whole trip! If I could go on the cruise and spend 3 days just on Castaway cay I would! And I know all the ladies felt the same way!

Well...this installment took longer than I expected, so I will wrap it up for now.

COMING SOON....Little Black Dresses, Animators Palate, And A Fond Farewell

Wow, what a great update & welcome back! CC looks wonderful, I wanted to climb into those pics & stay there forever.:cloud9:

We could have stayed forever as well. It was a GORGEOUS Island and vey well maintained.

JUST A NOTE: There were activities for the kids on the island as well as the ship, so they could be kept busy if a parent wanted some sun time alone. The kids looked like they were having fun!

After arriving back on the ship, it was time to get ready for dinner. Now we had decided at the beginning that we would all wear Little Black Dresses (LBD's) on the last night. I didn't buy mine until the week before the trip...took me a long time to find one. ;) I actually ended up with a halter top and skirt, but it looked like a dress!

Anyway, we were scheduled to eat at Animator's Pallette, which was the perfect backdrop for us in our LBD's! :thumbsup2

IMG_1229.jpg

The food, per usual, was delicious. I don't remember all that we ordered, but I do remember Roz ordered a salmon appetizer.....

IMG_1232.jpg

.....and it came out uncooked! She wasn't expecting that, but I tried it and it was quite good.

This is my appetizer:

IMG_1231.jpg

I had the salmon for my main meal and it was delicious!!!(Mine was cooked to perfection!)

IMG_1234.jpg

We wanted to get a picture with the servers while in their black and white and it came out great!

IMG_1238.jpg

For those of you unfamiliar with Animator's Pallette, let me explain it to you. The walls are covered in black & white pictures from the various Disney films. Throughout the meal, color is added and the walls "come alive" with the color! It was fun to watch and try to notice the subtle changes throughout the meal.

IMG_1241.jpg

To go along with this, the waitstaff have on vests that arre black & white, but come dessert, they are in full color!!! (OK, it's a reversible vest, but cool none-the-less!) :hippie:

Here are the waiters in the little parade they do:

And our own waiter & assistant:

Dessert was served and was amazingly good! (Wish I could remember what it was! )

IMG_1247.jpg

We had alot of fun at this meal and then headed to the show in the theatre. This show had so many people from so many different Disney movies! It was very entertaining! :dance3:

The rest of the night we shopped, walked around the ship and then went back to the room to pack, as we docked back at Port Canaveral the next day. :sad2: The week had come to an end and it was time to head back to Buffalo.

We woke up early the next morning, as we had an early breakfast, 6:30! We had put the luggage outside the door the night before and it was already on it's way to the airport. (One less thing to worry about!) Judy & MJ never made it to breakfast, but we did meet up with them in the lobby. As we left the ship, we saw this hanging over the door where we would pass under it:

IMG_1253.jpg

Yeah....we would be back ASAP!!! You can bet on that!!!

The Magical Express to the airport was uneventful, no movies, just a quiet ride full of sad people. :sad2: We checked in, headed through security, (no delays here this time around) and made it to the gate with about 2 hrs to spare!!! It seemed like a long wait, but eventually we were on our way.

After an smooth flight, we headed into Buffalo and was greeted by this:
