Disney Chix Do Disney on Land & Sea! Updated 8/18/08 LBD's, AP & a Fond Farewell

Ok, I apologize, I got lost in the shuffle. But I'm back AND caught up.

I really am looking forward to reading about your cruise. I think that might be our next family vacation.

I LOVE cruising.

I've read about the step mother and step sisters and it sounds like they are a hoot! We are going back to 1900 Park Fare for dinner in Dec and I read they make appearances there. Can't wait!

So sorry about your job but congratulations on the new one :thumbsup2

How cool is it to be welcomed onto the boat and you're right that room looks as though it would be a little cramped with 3 of you in there, were there any queues for the loo? :rotfl:

Came over from the WISH boards...loving the report!!

I'm glad you're enjoying it! :hippie: There is definitely more fun and character meetings to come!

The cruise was great!!! You really don't even need to go with your kids, as there was so many things for the adults to do!! :thumbsup2

The step sisters and step mother were soooo funny!:rotfl2: They stayed in character perfectly! You would believe they had stepped right out of the movie!

Queues for the loo were minimal. Luckily, one of the roomies slept later than the rest of us, so that kept things "moving" in the morning. ;) I tended to be the first up and in the shower.

WOW!!!! How magical!!! Belle :lovestruc

The room and bathroom was teeny! I'm sure you didn't mind though.

Wendy!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Belle was so sweet and spoke lovingly of the children below us. She even specifically spoke of a little girl who was with Minnie and knew Minnie was her favorite and had seen her X amount of times. :flower3: She made me really like Belle!!! ;)

As for the room, we had an inside state room and it was small. However, the room I had on Royal Carribbean was even smaller. We did fine though. Biggest problem was our suitcases and where to put them! :confused3

Not that I didn't enjo your TR from the parks because I did but I have been waiting for the cruise portion of it. I so want to do a Disney cruise maybe after our next trip which is Nov 2009 the next one will be that. I have to start saving for that one.

Just a bump for me and to let you know I'll be writing more tonight after work. ;) Sorry it's taken so long, but I have since put my house on the market and started a new job! Life is busy!!!!:dance3:

I didn't get back the last two nights, but here I am now to give the next chapter in our great adventure!!!

So, last I left you, we were headed to bed, room service menu hanging on the door and raedy for a good night sleep! (Wasn't there a smiley with a night cap & blanket????) The thing I have to say about an inside stateroom is, it is pitch black when all the lights out and you have no concept of time whatsoever! It would have been very easy to sleep late if we hadn't set an alarm.

When we ordered the food for the next morning, mainly coffee & pastries, we put down between 7 & 8. At exactly 7am, there was a knock on the door! :scared1: It was room service with our coffee! We enjoyed coffee & pastries in bed that morning! YUMMY!!!! :coffee:

(OK, Pam will probably kill me for posting this picture, but it just shows you what our early morning was like!!!) :rotfl2:

After coffee, showers and gettingb ourselves ready, we were off to Nassau!!! Pam & Judy would be experiencing a dolphin encounter, while MJ, Roz & I watched and took pictures. It sounded ok, but we weren't that excited about getting in the water with a dolphin!

We met in one of the lounges, signed in and waited for the ok to disembark from the ship.

While there, Pam bought a towel....

Soon we were off and headed off the ship into Nassau, Bahamas!!! :woohoo: Unfortunately the day was breezy, cool and overcast....not the sun & warmth we were hoping for. Oh well...we made the best of it!

IMG_1076.jpg

As we were headed out to sea on our ferry to the dolphin encounter, we saw this little taste of the states...

IMG_1078.jpg

I don't know about you, but I always get a kick out of seeing a retail store that is very american in a foreign place. :confused3 It's probably just me!

While ferrying to the island, we sailed past The Atlantis Hotel. This is a beautiful resort and I was lucky enough to have stayed there about 4 years ago with DH for a work conference. There is an outing you can take from the ship to here, but it didn't seem worth the money to me to use the casino or the beaches. ;)

IMG_1081.jpg

We reached the island and sat through a short presentation where they gave directions, rules and general info. Once this was over, we headed to the area where Judy & Pam would meet there dolphin friend, Shawn. Here are a few pics from the encounter....

I'm afraid I'll be over in pics, so I'll continue in the next post.....

After the ladies had fun with Shawn, we were able to walk around the island and see what else was there. We saw a good amount of sea lions that had been rescued after Katrina and a sea turtle that had found it's way into their lagoon, after being attacked by a shark.

From here we headed back to Nassau. Roz and I headed back to the ship to "get some sun" through the clouds. (OK, we froze more than anything!) ;) The others went shopping for "bargains", however the prices were not that great. They had fun anyway!!!

By the time we were all back on the ship, it was time to get ready for dinner and "Pirate Night"! I was very excited about the "Pirates in the Carribbean Party" that night! pirate: Maybe we would see Capt'n Jack!!!! :worship:

I thought I would be able to finish this tonight, but I am tired and my brain is turning to mush...soooo......

pirate: Coming Soon.....It's Pirate Time!!!pirate:

Gayle love in the pictures of the dolphins. I don't think I would be able to swim with them either not that I wouldn't like to because I think that's awesome. Anyway tell Pam I love her towel. :worship: Oh Captain Jack:love:

Just stumbled upon your adventure today & it has kept me entertained for hours:rotfl2: Can't wait to read more:)
By the way, we will be at POFQ in late Sept too for a mother-son trip. Hope to see you there.

Well, Pirate Night had finally arrived! I was sooo looking forward to this night, as I thought it was going to be alot of fun! Boy was I right!!! pirate:

We had decided to start the night out by going to a martini tasting, only we missed it, so we decided just to have a drink in the bar. I don't remember what everyone had, but I do remember a chocolate martini and a kahlua and cream.

IMG003.jpg

(Luckily MJ had her camera, as I forgot mine in the room!)

From there we headed to dinner at Parrot's Cay. The atmosphere at this restaraunt was very Carribbean and perfect for the night ahead! Our waiter was "in the spirit" of the night and helped us all with our "pirate bandanas" that were waiting for us on our table.

IMG007-1.jpg

(Don't we look cute????)

Again we enjoyed a delicious meal, but unfortunately I don't remember what we ate! I do remember it was wonderful!!! (And no food porn because I didn't have my camera with me!) :confused3

Afterwards we went back to the room to get changed for the pirate party up on deck! We sooo hoped we would see Cap'n jack!!! (Have I mentioned he is Roz's favorite??)

IMG_1069-1.jpg

Anyway....we changed, put on our Minnie Pirate ears that Stockton had given us, and were on our way!!! The party had already started by the time we arrived, so we snagged a place by the railing on the deck above and just "Partied with the Pirates"!

Roz and I were dancing and having a good time, so I grabbed her for a quick pic! We pretended to be pirates and said "AAARRRGGGGH" as I took the pic. (OK...it looks more like she is winking at me, but I just  this pic!!!)

IMG_1177.jpg

MJ was enjoyiing one of the many tropical drinks offered:

IMG_1176.jpg

As the party went on, it seemed all the characters were there, but NO CAP"N JACK!!! :scared1: We were very disappointed!!! As the "bad" pirates took over, with Cap'n Hook leading the way, MIckey came to save the day!!!!

IMG023.jpg

He was high atop one of the smoke stacks and came "flying" down to the main stage! It was very impressive!

Afterwards there was a wonderful fireworks display, which I'm told only Disney can do out at sea! No other cruise line has permission to do that!

IMG_1168.jpg

(Per usual, pics just don't do justice to how beautiful the fireworks were!)

As the party winded down, there was a delicious dessert buffet set up, and on the big screen, they were showing "Pirates of the Carribbean 2". We ate dessert, watched the movie for awhile, then headed to bed around midnight.

Tomorrow we would be in Castaway Cay! WOOHOO!!!! :cool1:

IMG_1179.jpg

NEXT UP......CASTAWAY CAY AND THE ELUSIVE CAP'N JACK SPARROW!

Yeah I'm the first to post. Great update. Those drinks looked really great. The party looked great too. Can't wait for Castaway Cay.
