Disney chief trumpets MyMagic+, Avatar Land

I have heard a very good explanation concerning all of NextGen, which includes MagicBands, Fastpass Plus, My Disney Experience, RFID tickets and everything related.

The description is from a friend who is a very high-level Technical Specialist in Disney's IT department: "This is a railroad claimed to be in full operation while they are still building the locomotive".

Everything is in testing and development. There is nobody who can give any accurate answer about any of these, or their interactions.

Everything is still subject to change on a daily basis.

And nobody has any idea when when everything will work. My personal opinion, also, is that Bob Iger's public statements are prepared by the PR department and not by knowledgeable people.

Ugh I hate the concept of Avatar Land. Disney should be timeless, it's a mediocre movie with excellent special effects. It would be much better if Animal Kingdom was expanded with the originally planned mythical creatures section, or perhaps adding another section themed on a continent like Australia or Antarctica.

To me that is not a strong statement about Avatarland if that is all he said. Look it may happen but behind the scenes I believe Disney is trying to get away from this deal. The sad thing is AK is in desparate need of at least one more E-Ticket attraction and another lesser attraction would also be a big boost. That said DHS could use a couple more attractions and if Disney can get away from Avatarland and add to DHS first, they may move that direction. Either way Disney needs to start "breaking Ground" at at least one preferrably both of these parks.

I agree that Animal Kingdom needs some help.I think they have the land to do Australia and maybe either South America or Antartica. These would be a great addition to this park. The ride part I would do 1 e ticket ride in both sections with at least a c ticket in both aswell. Now on Hollywood Studio,s my opinion is a little extreme, but think about this. What if Disney just totally closed down HS and completely reinvented this park to fit the concept they want in it.Think about it,if they do everything they want to do there it is gonna be a lot of construction all over and kinda an eye sore.Reopen with a grand celebration with these in it.
CARS LANDS
STAR WARS LAND
PIXAR LAND
RENAME-area of tower of terror and rock-n-roll coaster, plus maybe add new show and ride there aswell.
Anyways just my 2 cents.

I think the fact they made a big deal about very little at d23 except a Star Wars Project Code Named "Orange Harvest" and Avatarland, means that the project is moving forward, not trying to get out of.

I know this is neither here nor there, but I think it's funny that the staged (by Disney I'm sure) stock photo chosen for the cover is totally inaccurate. There is no way the MB would actually scan properly with the way the lady is holding it up to the scanner.

She would be clogging up the line, and the flustered CM would be prompting her to "place the Mickey head directly on the Mickey head." She would then have to contort her arm like the little girl in the (unstaged) second picture.

I speak from experience, lol.

And the third picture, showing guests near the Haunted Mansion, talks about the "interactive queue" in context of the Magic Bands. Funny thing is...if you use a FP+ for HM, you skip the interactive queue.

Just odd picture choices for the story, IMO.
