Disney charging a photographer escot fee?

I've jsut read this on another forum:

If you use an outside photographer, Disney reserves the right to charge you an "escort fee" of $90 for up to 3 hours, plus $30 an hour for any additional hours.

Has anyone come across this when using an outside photographer?

There was no extra charge for Randy Chapman or Stan from STVS Weddings. I think I read somewhere that Disney is doing away with this charge.

That's correct - they no longer charge an escort fee for outside photographers and videographers.

However, if you pick someone they haven't worked with before, they will not give them directions to get backstage at Epcot. I found this hilarious - they are allowed to GO backstage, they just can't have instructions on how to do it! (That's why mine all rode in the limo with me.)

You might wanna put it on your wedding planner question list too - the Roots have APs, but they won't be able to get into the park outside of regular business hours. SURELY Disney will help you get them backstage....

That's just sad... is that to discourage us from using outside photogs or what?

Well, I guess Roots will have pictures of our lovely bus then...

carrie, are you telling me that they didn't give sage and the roots directions on how to get backstage? OUTRAGEOUS. we had no problem (that i was aware of) at my wedding with sage.

i will personally drive the roots backstage so as not to ruin my sisters wedding.

this makes me mad. they should have given them directions for carrie's wedding.
