Not sure if it's ok to post this, since it's kinda "cheating" but as far as I know it is not illegal or anything since you are dealing with "samples", but I have several Disney sound clips on my phone. . . and this is how I got them for "free".
Your phone has to be able to play actual sound or song clips do, and have internet access on your phone (I have to pay for this extra with T-mobile)
*Go to Walmart.com
*Click on "Music" up near the top
*Click on "CD Store", NOT Music Downloads
*Then you can either search or browse through the cds to find one that has a song you want.
An example could be:
A search for Disney turns up many, many titles; including Disney's Greatest, Vol. 1
Clicking on the title brings up the product information as well as the song list with the option to listen to a 1 minute section of each song.
If I want, say, Zip-a-dee-do-dah on my phone I RIGHT click on "Listen" this brings up a menu, click on "Save Target As". Use this to save the song to your computer with whatever title you want, as long as you don't change it from an MP3.
Then, go to
www.funformobile.com
*Click on any of the links that say "upload", or "upload ringtone to phone", etc.
*Upload the song you saved following their instructions
*You can even use this site to upload song clips you might already have on your computer, or turn pics from your computer into wallpapers for your phone, etc.
*They'll send a message to your phone containing a link to download the song onto your phone. This is why you need internet.
If your phone is tricky and not quite so obvious on how to "click" or "go to" links. . . .I was able to figure out how to do it using Funformobiles "help" section. Really easy once I knew how.
Internet on my phone cost 5.99 a month, so I figure as long as I get 4 new ringtone or pictures a month I'm even (Tmobile is anywhere from 1.49-1.99 a download), any more and I'm better then even. And the clips that I can get or make myself tend to be a little longer than the Tmobile ones.
Hope that helps someone.
