Disney Car Care Center (specifically rental drop off)

I was originally booked for 8 days with Alamo (MCO - MCO). Going to see family in Cape Canaveral before my Disney trip starts. Upon further reading I came across the Disney Car Care Center which Alamo uses as well. So I've changed my rental from (MCO - MCO) to (MCO - DCCC). Instead of keeping the car with me at Disney Im going to use the Magical Express back to airport.

Now to the question.

I'll be checking into Yacht Club on the day Im to return the car to Disney Car Care Center. Is it better to check in to Yacht Club then return the car? Or just drive to Disney Car Care and return the car? Also what would be the best way to get from there back to YC? Do they shuttle you back to your hotel or do you need to take a resort bus from a park?

Any positive or negative experiences using this location? Its gonna save me about 250 dropping the car off rather than just leaving it in Disney lot. I really never leave anyway.

Thanks in advance.

Alamo Rent A Car has another on-site location. It's at the Disney World Dolphin Resort, adjacent to Disney Yacht Club Resort. If you arrange to return your car there, you won't have to rely on the shuttle from the CCC. It a quick walk along Crescent Lake.

On your arrival day at the Yacht Club, do whatever you would do if you were keeping your car, such as letting bell services take the bags from your car and then checking in.

Car rentals are priced in 24-hour periods, so there's no hurry to return the car, except to avoid going into the next 24-hour period and having to pay for an additional day. You could even keep your car overnight; if your car rental is for 5 days, you can usually reserve it up to 7 days at the same price. You could use the car before you return it. For example, you could drive to Publix for snacks and beverages, or to an off-site restaurant, or to any on-site location that's awkward with WDW Transportation.

At the Disney World Dolphin Resort, you return Alamo cars at valet parking. Just make sure the attendant knows you're returning the car, not just having it parked. If it's after Alamo's office hours, your return time would be the next morning when the office reopens. Only one person would have to be involved in returning the car.

You can either drop off the car first or check in at the YC and then drop off the car, whichever works best. For me, I always drop DW and luggage at the resort first, but YMMV. In either case, they will shuttle you to your resort after you drop off the car at the Disney Car Care Center.

Not to add complication, but since you're staying at the YC, did you also price an MCO-Dolphin Resort car rental? Alamo/National have a car rental desk at the Dolphin and drop off is particularly quick and easy, since you simply drive up to the main entry and hand the car over to the valet. The valet will give you a receipt noting the return time and fuel level and you will shortly get an email from Alamo with the final charges for your rental (or go to the rental desk inside the hotel if you want to get it immediately). I always check both Dolphin and DCCC, and don't remember ever getting a different rate for dropping off the car at one compared to the other. Of course, the hours of operation are different, so this might also be a factor if your arrival is later in the day.

ETA: I see Horace Horsecollar has noted some of the same information. He must be a faster typist.

It is the same price as the Disney Car Care Center but the prices have gone way up since I booked. If I change drop off locations do you think I'll get same price ?

Probably not. You could try calling them rather than using the web, but I wouldn't count on being able to get the lower rate. In any case, the inconvenience of going to the DCCC rather than the Dolphin is pretty small for a real savings in the price of the rental. It's still way better than having to return the car at MCO and use ME to get to the resort, perhaps an extra 15 minutes if you have to wait for the shuttle at the DCCC as opposed to the short walk from the Dolphin.

I do one-way rentals with Alamo between Fort Lauderdale and the Disney area numerous times each year. The rates for the three Alamo/National locations at Disney World are always identical. They are operated by the same people. Employees rotate through the three different locations.

As I noted, there are three locations: the Disney Car Care Center, the Walt Disney World Dolphin, and the Hilton Buena Vista Palace. The Hilton Buena Vista Palace is located across the street from the Marketplace section of Disney Springs.

For anyone staying in the Boardwalk area, the Walt Disney World Dolphin location is ideal. For guests staying at other Disney Resorts, the Hilton Buena Vista Palace location is worth exploring. You can take Disney transportation to Disney Springs and walk. Doing that is sometimes easier than coordinating with Alamo/National to pick you up or drop you off from the Car Care Center location.

I've had many rentals since 2010 and have experienced ccc being a different rate than swolphin. The only absolute in car rentals is that there is no absolute.

OP, the shuttle at ccc is easy. Drive up, park, go inside, return the car. Put your name down for the place you want to go and they'll get a shuttle arranged. You can go anywhere onsite you want, really. Do it before you checkin and have them take you to your resort. Do it after checkin and putting bags with bell services and have them take you to a park! It's easy.

Instead of doing one way rentals, I have had better luck renting with return to same location, completing the reservation and then going in to modify my reservation. I think I have gotten better prices, I for sure have gotten access to vehicles that I would not have gotten doing a one way rental.
