Disney Busses with Scooters

We will be at WDW starting on June 8, staying at CSR. We're trying to decide whether my DMIL should take her scooter or rent a wheelchair at the parks (she can walk, but her mobility is limited and she will need something to help her conserve energy).

We're leaning toward taking the scooter, but I'm curious about how that will work if/when we ride the Disney busses.

Will she be able to take the scooter right onto the bus? Or will we have to break it down and then reassemble it when we get off?

Thanks!

Most of the busses I have seen can accommodate 2 scooters / wheel chairs. There is a special place for them on the bus. You drive the scooter up into the bus and the bus driver straps it in.

For safety reasons, scooters and w/c get boarded first; then everyone else. But, they get unloaded last (I think). A fairly simple process. The bus drivers and CMs are usually really nice and accommodating. :thumbsup2

I recommend that you take whichever conveyance your MIL is most comfortable with. Most WDW transportation will accommodate scooters and w/c very easily. I have read that some of the boat docks are a little tricky.

I hope you really enjoy your trip.
