And on top of all that, Disney just reported that the multi-park resort saw 11 injuries during the 2nd quarter of this year. Looks like the 3rd quarters going to top that!

And yes, we all know, {and I am speaking to those disneyphiles who think disney is beyond reproach} that ALL theme parks have injuries, but this is a disney site, and this is disney news.
Did I call it or what!?![]()

For the number of visitors WDw has, 11 injuries is statitistically insignificant
Do you really think that 11 reported injuries in a quarter is a lot when there would be between 75,000 and 100,000 people per DAY in the 4 parks plus all of the hotels and other facilities? Take a town of 75,000 to 100,000 people and sit down at the local hospital ER and I bet you might see 20 injuries come in per HOUR for at least half of the day.
It really astounds me the amount of Disney haters there are in Central FL. Sometimes I think they are all of the people who either couldn't get hired at Disney or people that got fired from Disney, so they feel a right to complain about the company.
Sometimes it is because people who are there everyday see things happen that shouldn't be allowed to happen and get frustrated that the bonehead executives have no idea what's going on, then put in policies that don't make sense or allow breaks in policies that do make sense, which lead to accidents.
I understand this particular accident was not a case of policy or anything, I'm just defending those of us who criticize Disney out of our love for, not hate of, the company.
Personally I'm surprised it was between 2 Disney buses and not a bus and some tourist making a right hand turn in a double left hand turn lane, or making a U turn where they are not supposed to, or any other number of blatant driving violations I see everyday. Imagine what those bus drivers see...
Yep - you must have ESP. Wait for the response where someone says that ANY injuries are too many.Did I call it or what!?![]()
I wondered the same thing. There were an awful lot of layoffs and the parks are crowded. Fatigue, crowding, and lack of adequate supervision isn't a recipe for success. Then again, accidents do happen everywhere. But it does make you wonder how much cut backs play a part in all this.![]()
I've been on disney sites for years as a lurker and I've read many timely posts about accidents on disney properties before the fatal monorail crash.Honestly I doubt this accident would be a big deal if the monorail accident had not have happened. I think it might have been news worthy but not create several boards about people talking about transportation safety at Disney.
