Please excuse me while my germ-a-phobia shows for a moment... In looking at many of the character meals, I see that they are listed at buffets. Are most of these cafeteria style buffets- where you walk down a line and someone hands you what you want, or the kind where everyone walks through and scoops/touches everything?

And just realized I'm in the wrong board and can't figure out how to delete. Oops

Pretty sure all Disney buffets are help yourself (definitely all the ones I've ever been to), except for carved meats where a Disney CM will cut you a slice and place it directly on your plate.

At all the buffets we've been to in DW you serve yourself except for the carved meat station where a chef slices and places the meat on the plate for you.

You might want to consider the family style all you care to eat meals where the food is brought to the table on platters/bowls and you serve yourself at the table. If you want more of something your server will bring it from the kitchen. 'Ohana, Garden Grill, and Hoop De Doo Revue are examples of the family style meals.

We were booked at a character dining until I realized it was a buffet. DF and I are both germ phobes and can't do it lol

I would then recommend that you try 'Ohana breakfast. It is served family style directly to your table - no getting up and serving yourself from a buffet. It is also a character meal featuring Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto. It's our favorite character meal! Lots of fun and the food is very good.

See my above post to dolewhipsareforlovers. 'Ohana breakfast may be a good fit for you.

Garden Grill is also served family-style. Akershus has a limited buffet, but your entree is brought to you.

We actually have an ADR for Ohana! I am glad to hear its good. It is our first time going. We are doing breakfast and dinner there.

'Ohana dinner is hands down our favorite and a must do every trip - and has been for us since 1997! I am sure you will enjoy both of your meals there!
Have a great honeymoon!

I can see how a buffet would be a nightmare for a germaphobe. Fortunately, I'm not one and never really put much thought into it, but trying to remember now and for sure there is the "sneeze glass" in front of everything and sometimes it can be difficult to scoop stuff out because of it, so not sure how easily hands would get on anything. Likely not comfort enough if you are a germaphobe though and like others have already said, I would go with a family style AYCTE meal instead.
