We decided not to go with Disney photography after reading about horror stories...and well for the same reasons as most brides. So I contacted Disney to find out what the alternatives are if we were to not go with Disney and I was told that we could have a 30 minute photo session in the park of our choice and we would get 2 5x7 Disney folios chosen by the photograher (i love that....NOT!! and a website. I was just wondering if everyone else was told the same thing??????? We're not going with it. It's not worth it for 30 minutes and 2 5x7 pictures that we don't even get to choose!

I was given a 'honeymoon shoot' in a park of my choice. It was in epcot and took about a couple of hours. We got a lot of 4X6s in a album and then a copy of all of the proofs.

However, when I was booking this, I was sent an email that said that we would get 2 5X7s and when I sent them back my original email (telling about the album, etc..) they switched it back. The woman that I was talking to said 'that change would be coming in the future' so, I guess they have officially changed it.

I have to tell you, I hate my honeymoon photos. They are poor quality, photopass quality pictures. Each one of them has a little spot on them like the photographer's lens had a spot on it or something. It makes me so glad that I did not go with disney to photograph the wedding! I would have been devastated if such little care and quality was put into my wedding photographs!

This is exactly the option that was given to us. And at one point, I thought you had up to a year after your wedding to do this. I was informed during my planning that it had to be during our wedding stay. Well, our wedding stay was very short so that was frustrating. We were so busy leading up to the wedding and my husband was working the day after the wedding. I had it scheduled for the morning two days before our wedding, but we ended up missing it. I'm not devastated because it just didn't even seem worth the extra effort...

I know you have a year to do the magic kindgom photo shoot. But honestly, after the poor quality and poor professionalism of the disney photographer, there is no way that I am giving them 1000 more dollars!

I wasn't really happy with the quality of my honeymoon shoot, well most of them:

Personally, I'm glad I went with outside photography for the wedding & I haven't even seen my proofs yet.

The photographer was really nice but he kept talking about how he had to get to MK for a corporate event.

Man, I LOVED our honeymoon photo shoot, even more than my wedding photography (Randy, btw, who was good, but the Disney photographer we got for the honeymoon shoot was AWESOME). We ended up having to take the pic at 3:30 pm (though they recommend first thing so the park is empty). We were hot, tired, and the park was PACKED. But somehow the photographer was able to capture us in beautifully posed shots, seemingly happy, and with nary another guest in sight.

We were originally told that we would only get the folio (chosen by Disney) but we would get proofs of the whole shoot and could order other photos if we wanted, or wait for a few years and get the CD at a reduced cost. At some point, they said they had a "surprise" for us, and when we received the folio, the other shots were included as well (4"x6"). Hooray!

I know that others haven't been pleased with their shots, so if you don't have the time, don't mess with it, but if you do have an extra hour or so, I thought it was a fun diversion and you sort of feel like a superstar...when else are you going to have a photographer follow you around Disney?? :)

GL with whatever you decide...

It used to be that you got nothing if you chose to use an outside photographer.

That's exactly what I was afraid of! That was my reasoning for not wanting to go with Disney for our wedding photos.
