Yea me! I'm getting married!! Which is kind of weird because SO and I have actually been together 11 years (come the 19th of this month) and last year, he adopted my daughter from my previous marriage.. I also took his name at that time, so that we would all have the one family name.

We have decided on an intimate wedding at Disney. We have chosen Sunset Pointe and are looking at January of 2008. I put together a wishbook last night, but it wouldn't submit and someone on here said that it was messed up for the intimate brides. Is there an email address that I can contact someone, or do I just call, leave a message and wait for them to call me back.

I would like to book Randy Chapman, as I have seen some of the pictures that he has done for some of your weddings and was absolutely blown away! How far in advance do I contact him and have him pencil us in?

Also, we are not going to have anyone there buy DF (how odd is that to not call him SO anymore?? LOL), DD and myself. We really don't have a large family, and those that are important to us have given us their blessing to go on our own. But, since we want dd (who will be 16 at the time) to be able to toast with us, we are planning on taking a bottle of sparkling something or other non alcoholic. Can we just save the bottle of Champagne for later in the evening?

At that point, we would love to have dinner at Ohana, and was wondering if we can just box the cake up and take it on back with us? Or how does that work? :confused3

Finally, we are planning the Magic Kingdom photo shoot and I am concerned about dd. Can she go with us (since she is minor and no other adult will be around), or do we have to leave her at the resort? I understand if they won't let her be in the pictures, but I don't know if I am comfortable leaving her completely alone at the resort (I'm a big worry wort!!!)

I think that is all of my questions.. for now anyway LOL :rotfl:

I would call them and ask your questions. They may book you a yr out.

If he is available he will book you at anytime

They won't let you bring your own. You can have 2 bottles of sparkling instead (thats what i was told when i was planning)

Yes they will box it up for you

It's very early in the morning. Just let her sleep! I was there at 16 and stayed in the room alone. I don't think they will let her come with you.

Happy planning

I don't have many answers for you, but I know that Disney has a reputable babysitting service that you can probably leave your daughter with. I have heard a lot of good feedback on that service.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Yes, I really think the best thing to do is to call DFTW and have them call you back. While the wishbook is a great resource, I think it's geared more towards the custom weddings and can sometimes be deceiving for intimates.

I'm sorry, I can't offer any info on Randy, as we used Disney...but I'm sure someone will post his info for you!

When DH and I were married, it was just the two of us...and it was wonderful!! It's okay if it's just you and your DF and DD! It somehow makes it even more personal and special!

You can save the bottle of champagne, if you want. When we had our ceremony, they had other drinks already set up (some Coke and water) even though no one else was coming. You could probably ask for that, or ask for a bottle of sparkling cider in addition to the champagne. But...definitely have the champagne!! It is FANTASTIC!!

They can box up the cake for you, and you can take it to Ohana...or I'm sure you coordinator will work out the best way to do that for you!

Since the MK photo shoots are VERY EARLY (I think like 5 & 6 am) in the morning, I'm guessing your DD will just sleep through it! LOL! I'm pretty sure they won't allow her to come with, but you can ask, you never know!!

Good luck and keep us posted on your plans!!

Thanks for all the answers! I know she will be fine at the hotel.. I just worry!!! I am going to ask if she can go with us, the worst they can say is no!

Does anyone know when is an appropriate time to contact Randy Chapman?

Can't tell you anything about the MK Photo shoot, but I booked Randy just over a year before our wedding - before we had even had our time confirmed with Disney! Basically you can call him or email him now, and then confirm the date with him once Disney confirm it for you. He was happy to take our booking about 13 months before our wedding.

Good luck with all your planning!

Miranda

Good Luck with all of your decisions and planning! :) About Randy; we looked into him and called him about a year out. He was free but we decided to wait and look around. When we called back to book, he was already booked. If you really want to book him, I wouldn't wait to call, but we ended up booking Karla Fountain and she has been the BEST decision we have made for the wedding! :) Again, good luck!

Okay, I called Disney and the lady that I spoke with (I think she said her name was Madeline) was very nice. You always hear about the horror stories of ill castmembers, but she was very personable! I told her that we are wanting the first week in January, Sunset Pointe, Intimate. She said that a coordinator would be calling us back before the close of business tomorrow. So, we'll see!

Yay, that's great to hear! :thumbsup2

Let DD sleep. Put the "Do Not Disturb" sign up. Have a cell with you, and she will be fine.

we booked Randy in September '06 and our VR isn't until December '07! We paid him $400 deposit and he has pencilled in our provisional date until Disney confirm it in April - then change it if necessary.
We really wanted Randy so I contacted him early to make sure we got him.
Good luck with all your planning.
