Ok, I have asked a lot of questions.
how about this one, which book.

I went to the bookstore and found a lot of books.
so which one, I narrowed it down to 2

Disney world for dummies

or the

Econoguide for 2004 with coupons but
they expire in dec, so they won't help me.
or is this they book and should waite for 2005

I just want to get all wdw i can, alaska is long way.
I really want to make sure we hit all the parks-
by the way, we already have our 6 day park hoppers
so I don't want to miss anything.. I so excited, I could go today

I don't know about those two books you narrowed it down to, but I recommend either the 2004 Unofficial Guide to WDW, Birnbaum's WDW 2004 or the 2004 Passporter. :p

What does everybody else recommened?

I LOVE Passporter! They seem to have combined the best of all the books, IMHO. We really liked the ride descriptions that include a kid's review and the area in the back to record the day's events. Love the detail too, and the on-line updates.

I haven't heard of either of those choices. I would recommend Passporter or the Unofficial Guide. I don't particularly like Birnbaums...don't like the way it's organized...I don't find it to be user firendly but that's just my $.02.

If you are going in 2005, I would wait for the 2005 Unofficial Guide. It is released August 29th.

I also like Fodor's Disney with Kids. The 2005 edition is due out Oct 5. The 2005 Birnbaum is due out Sept 28. (At least according to Barnes & Noble's website). Those, along with the Unofficial Guide, are my favorites. Birnbaum mainly for the pictures and the "Disney look" more than actual information content.

I have bought and read both of the books you mention. If you are only buying one or two books I would skip those and first get "The Unofficial Guide". It is a terrific, informative book. For a number two selection I would go with Birnbaum's (the 2005 edition if possible). I know lots of people swear by the Passporter also (although it is not my choice). But if you are like me and just like to have LOTS of disney books on hand, the other two you mentioned are fun to read also.

The Econoguide has some handy tips on booking cheap airfare, which, coming from Alaska may be handy! .....HTH.............P

I also have Fodor's with the Kids and I don't like it. It's sitting on my bookshelf collecting dust...I'll never buy it again. Compared to the Unofficial, Fordor's is useless.

I buy the Unofficial and Birnbaum's every year...this is my first year purchasing the Passporter and I think I'll be purchasing this one too from now on.

Hmm... I guess I'm in the minority, but being the parent of a 5 yr old, I really like Fodor's. It breaks the info I've gotten from the Unofficial Guide down into what might be fun for kids or frightening for kids in a pretty accessible format. Not only attractions, but hotels and dining as well. The Unofficial does present ratings by age group, but sometimes I don't want to wade through something that massive to get the info I want.

One thing I've noticed, when considering what day of the week each park might be least crowded (relative term), the 2003 Unofficial listed mainly weekend days in the summer as least crowded, while Birnbaum's says weekends are most crowded no matter the time of year. Any opinions on this? We're planning a 5 day/6 night stay next June and am trying to decide whether to plan to do the parks from Fri to Tues or from Mon to Fri.

I love the Passporter-- great for planning and includes some great tips and reviews. We just bought one (at Barnes and Noble) for my MIL for our upcoming October trip and she loves it, too.

The website has great updates, too.
