Hi

We are planning on staying in Orlando (again) July 28th thru August second

We have 4 and 6 year old. We have been five times so do not need to do every park - probably MK, Epcot and MGM or one of the Universal parks

My question is for anyone who has experience of both of the above complexes, which is the better one for our needs ?

are you talking the BC - which is a hotel.

or BCV - which is villa like Horizons?

if BCV - go for it. You are doing Disney and Disney resort especially one you can walk to Epcot and Studios (or boat) is pretty nice.

if BC - then I might just vote for Horizons. a hotel room even as nice as BC and 2 kids - okay I am spoiled - but I like my privacy.

even 2 rooms over in a value resort would be better - my opinion.

Hi Pat

Thanks - I guess I was really talking BCV with a studio or Villa

The water park feel for OK'ish swimmers is important as would like to be able to chill in the sun whilkst chasing the kids if that is possible

I have visited Marriott Horizons and liked the water facilities although it is more isolated and does not pass the don't need to pick a non drinking driver test (a great source of anguish on our breaks).

I am weighing toward BCV if I can just figure out how you buy the points etc looks like circa $10 to $11 per point and I need 88 for studio or 180 for 1 bed villa

I am assuming none member can buy points

thanks for advice

yes, you can go rent them - on the DVC rental/trade board.

don't rent Fri or Sat - too expensive.

the studio has a queen bed and a double sleeper sofa with a kitchennett - another words a little better than a hotel room.

the 1-bedroom is pretty wonderful - full kitchen, whirlpool tub, shower stall, king bed in master and a queen sleeper sofa in the livingroom. living area with DVD & VCR (I think)

Now the BCV is the most in demand of all the DVC resorts - so you might end up paying more for it.

the same area (okay without SALB swimming pool) has BWV - you can sometimes get a deal here with the standard view rooms. Less points so less cost to you.

Thanks again PAt

The swim side is important I think unless anyone comes out in favor of Marriott we will try fro one bed BCV and see how we get on

thx

We stayed at Marriott Horizons in March 2007. We have stayed in 1 BR units at BWV and Saratoga Springs. If you can afford it, I would vote a 1 BR at the Beach Club Villas for a Disney Trip. I would also suggest that you check a 1 BR at Saratoga Springs. The main pool is really nice for little ones.

If you are doing the Disney parks a lot, I would try for BCV or BWV as a first choice - simply because of being onsite and being able to walk to Epcot or MGM. If you stay at BCV, you really need to keep a close eye on little ones at that pool. It's so easy to lose sight of them at Storm a Long Bay. Horizons' pool makes it easier to watch them from a distance and not lose sight of little ones in the water.

If you are doing Seaworld and want lots of pool time, Marriott Horizons is terrific for kids and a wonderful choice. We're DVC members and we like staying at Horizons, too. Especially if we're not doing the Disney parks. :)

Thanks to you all for great advice - I will try for BCV but it seems like none of them will be a bad choice
