How crowded is WDW at thanksgiving??
Is at anywhere near as crowded as Christmas
week??

We were there last year from Nov 18-24. Left right before Thanksgiving and I'm glad that we did. The day we left we went to Magic Kingdom that morning and it was packed!!!! More crowded than we had seen it all week.

I have friends that were just there the same week this year and they found that the first couple days were ok, but as it got closer to Thanksgiving it got more and more crowded. Those same friends were there during Christmas last year and said that comparing the 2 years, Christmas was more crowded.

Yes, Thanksgiving is quite similar to Christmas. It may sometimes seem a touch less busy, but the parks (usually MK, and sometimes DHS) will do the "closed due to capacity" thing.

It's not impossible though.

We went Thanksiving week a couple of years ago. It was fabulous to see all the Christmas decorations. We followed Tour Guide Mike's touring plans and didn't wait more than 15 minutes for any ride.

I went last Thanksgiving and didn't find it to be terrible. We actually left Thanksgiving afternoon however so I can't speak for the days following. When we arrived that Saturday the parks were very manageable. We didn't do the Magic Kingdom the day Space Mountain officially opened, but a friend did and said that park was packed. The weather was perfect, though we did have one rain day, it was warm enough to swim and wear shorts (we are from the south so think 70's) though Central FL weather can hit the extremes that time of year. I would go for Thanksgiving again with no problem.
