This thread will probably be moved to the theme parks planning area, but since it is here, I'll give you my input.
We spent Thanksgiving at WDW in 2002 and 2004. We stayed at Fort Wilderness in a camper in 2002 and a 2Bdrm at OKW in 2004 (2005 was spent on the Disney Magic - prime rib and lobster for Thanksgiving!). We are going again this year and staying at SSR in a 2Bdrm.
We drove down from Alabama on Saturday, and stayed off-site Saturday night. We used Sunday to visit the Disney outlet shop, play mini-golf, visit DTD, ride the monorail, and eat at Boma (our favorite restaurant). We only went to the parks on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday weren't bad, but by Wednesday, the parks began to get pretty busy. We made good use of Fastpasses and early entry. We also park hopped.
We spent Thanksgiving day in the villa and visiting the other resorts looking at the Christmas decorations. We picked up turkey dinner from Cracker Barrel and ate in the villa.
I have heard the parks are crazy Thanksgiving day until Sunday - with Magic Kingdom probably the worse. But the Christmas decorations go up that week, and the Osborn Lights Spectacular MGM starts on Wednesday, I think.
All in all, it is a great time weather wise and decoration wise.
