Am I outta my mind to consider this? I would like to take one last trip with my family before the new baby gets here. I thought it would be special for DD3 b/c her birthday is b/t Christmas and New Year's and it will also be right after the baby comes. This trip would be her bday celebration while we are still able to do it. And I would love to see Disney at Christmas! :santa:

We are just an hour drive, so I'm not terribly worried about being too far from my doctor, just in case. It's been a healthy and normal pregnancy.

Really, we do go quite often though. Heck, we will be there with my mom in a couple weeks.

So - am I nuts? :lmao: I have two other kids, but can't remember what 8 months pregnant was like. :confused3

If you live that close I don't see why not..But I would check with your Dr,babies do come early..Mine came at 37 weeks. At that stage in pregnancy I was exhausted, everything was swollen and I could barely walk without having to pee or want to sit down. But I was also on bedrest up till my 34th week.

I don't see it being dangerous, however, by the time I had my 3rd, 36 weeks felt more like 46 weeks.

I was ready to say no way until I saw you are only an hour away. In that case I would do it! If you can swing it I would try to stay at a monorail or EPCOT resort to minimize your travel time and make it easier if you need to go back to the room to rest. Also try to plan some mid day meals to get off your feet!

Your question is more like should I go to the local zoo for the day. It isn't like the people who ask should I plan a week long trip, fly 1,000 miles and spend thousands of dollars, and only plan on this trip my entire adult life!!!!!

I don't even understand your need for the question. You are an hour away , go see the decorations, sit on a bench, go to a few shows, and let your DH take your child on the rides they want, take some pictures, get something to eat and come home.

Unless you are on bedrest I wouldn't look at it in anyway but a simple day outing. If you are still up for going out of the house why wouldn't you?

totally- an hour is no big deal i think and it is beautiful at Christmas! I just give you a lot of credit for considering it, when i was 36 weeks pregnant i could barely walk the block without huffing and puffing!

I wouldn't make any plans that you can't change. At 28 weeks with DS2 I thought a trip to the smokeys to play in the snow at 34 weeks sounded like a great idea. At 32 weeks I came to my senses. In those 4 weeks I got so much bigger there is no way I could have done it.

I don't think I could have done a WDW trip with all the waking with out paying big time eithor that night or the next day!!

I had a perfectly fine and healthy pregnancy until my BP spiked at 33 weeks. It got so high, they induced at 34 weeks. I wouldn't plan anything that late in a pregnancy.

Thank you for all the responses. I'm still on the fence... It'd be 2 weeks before my c/s and I'm sure there will be lots to do to prepare for baby, Christmas, and DD's bday. We'd be going for 4 days during the free dining. Not sure I want to spend the money if i will be miserable, not fitting in even my maternity clothes, etc. On the other hand, I do like to stay active, so it would probably be good for me! And the weather will be cool, so that's another plus. We go to Disney quite often, so we are more low key when we go and less commando, which also helps...

Decisions, decisions! Guess I'll have to think on it some more! Thank you again for the replies, gives me different ways to look at this. :goodvibes

I don't see it being dangerous, however, by the time I had my 3rd, 36 weeks felt more like 46 weeks.

lol! I totally agree with this.. by 36 weeks I was lucky if I could walk around the mall for 30 minutes without needing to stop and sit on every bench I saw! If you feel up to it and are having a healthy pregnancy I say go for it but me personally, I would have been too tired!

At 36 weeks being an hour away, I think I'd do it. If it was during the summer, no way, but with cooler weather, I'd say no problem. I think it'd be a fun time you would cherish in the future. My babies were all born between 36w6d and 38w3d, and I would still feel fine with it. For me it would be something fun to help pass the time there at the end.

I would probably plan a day trip as opposed to a 4 day trip. That might be a little much but it really all depends on you. You could always rent an ECV if it got to be too much. The only problem with a 4 day trip would be that you may get stuck paying for a hotel room that you can't use if you find it is too much or you have a complication. With my first 3 pregnancies, I was late or right on time. My last one, I was 3 weeks early so you never know. No matter what you decide, have fun and enjoy yourself!

I agree that a day trip would be easier than four days, but I can't even imagine a day at WDW at 36 weeks. I had a blessedly easy pregnancy, and I was pretty close to miserable by then.

I totally understand your wanting to give DD3 a special trip, but it won't be special for anyone if you're exhausted. ;)

I would say go for it! I was still jogging at 36 weeks pregnant, but I think it depends a lot on how active you are/have been during your whole pregnancy. Just take it slowly and relax and have fun! :thumbsup2
