Disney area hotels with nice indoor lobby for rainy days...

I know this is an odd request, but I'm looking for a hotel in the Disney area that would have either a nice atrium or lobby area that would give us some place outside of the room in case of rainy days.

I am needing a couple of days for our upcoming trip, and unfortunately, we can't all (5 of us) stay in one room at the Wilderness Lodge (which is where I'd love to stay!). That's the best kind of lobby I can think of, though I know there's probably not much comparable elsewhere. I wonder about the Gaylord Palms. Is it the kind of place that would give you space to walk around in if there happens to be bad weather and you wouldn't want to be confined to just a small hotel room?

we're going to stay in the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress for our wedding next October, and by all accounts it has a very nice atrium/lobby

We've found that usually Embassy Suites properties have nice atriums and lobbies. The manager's reception in the evening with complimentary drinks and snacks is great too!

Yes, Gaylord Palms has huge indoor areas, glassed in, for relaxing on bad weather days. That's a really nice place! Marriott Orlando World Center has a nice lobby, glass elevators that look outside and a small indoor pool, as well as fun outdoor pool areas and onsite golf. Haven't been to the Peabody in Orlando but the one in Memphis has a gorgeous lobby.

When we're in the Orlando area, we like to stay in spacious 2BR or 3BR timeshares with nice resort amenities, activity rooms, fitness centers, etc. Our family (also 5) loves these vacations. We find the condos and resorts very comfortable and pleasant for relaxing on "off" days, regardless of the weather. People who rent individual pool homes say the same. Some timeshares, condos and pool homes are available for nightly rentals too and at less than a single room at a really nice hotel. Just something to consider.

Gaylord is the top the list for indoor enjoyment

It is more space and exploring than you could imagine. Something new at every turn. Lots of shops and food spots, although food is pricey.

Okay, those pictures have just about convinced me! The GP is a beautiful place! Those pictures are amazing, and I love how it's decorated at Christmas!!

Three areas, Key West, St. Augustine and Everglades....which explains the differences in structures. St. Augustine and a miniature of the fort is in the middle.

I agree! Their lobby is amazing with so much to explore or very nice to just sit, relax, and enjoy the scenery. I love the Gaylord in Nashville, too.
