Disney after hour question

Hi All, We currently have two types of tickets: 1) 5 day hoppers for four in our family; 2) An 8 day non-expiring hopper ticket with 5 days left for my youngest.

We arrive on a Saturday and it happens to be a day where there is an after hour hard ticket event. I am thinking this would be a great night to use it however if we arrive at 7pm to check in how will they know to use the hard ticket vs. taking one of the days from the non-expiring ticket and/or hopper ticket? Is it obvious when we check in and will they ask? I would hate to get to the last day and find out we don't have any days left because the ticket was used when we checked in for the hard ticket event.

There are designated tapstyles that will be marked as an 'event entrance' and there should be Disney After Hours signs around. It should be obvious, but do pay attention as you don't want to tap at a regular entrance and cause a ticket to be used - as you are worried about. This happens to folks more often than you might think.

The event entrances are programmed to deduct the After Hours ticket. So long as your DAH tickets are linked to your MDE profile, you should be fine using your MagicBand or other ticket media at the event tapstyle with no issue.

There are isolated reports over time of a quirk here and there and a real ticket getting counted, but that's a small concern in my opinion.

I do keep my confirmation e-mails in a Disney folder in my inbox 'just in case' I run into any snags or blue Mickeys at the front entrance and need it handy.

I did the event just as you described. I had a hard ticket and a magic band. I went to the designated DAH area to enter the park. I wanted to use
the hard ticket to avoid accidentally using a day on my park hopper. The cast member insisted it was fine and I went ahead and used my magic band. It did not deduct any days from my hopper and it credited the DAH just as it should.

That hard ticket acts as a MB and provides the same link to all your linked tickets.

So, MB or hard ticket at a DAH entrance works exactly alike and causes the system to deduct the DAH entitlement from the linked MDX Profile.

I understand that now, but at the time I had a hard ticket for DAH and only my magic band with the hopper so it kind of confused me and made me think i needed the hard ticket for the event. I just wanted to reassure the OP that it works just as you said

And I posted to ensure for people following along that linked hard tickets provide the link to all linked tickets in the MDX Profile not just the event entitlement.

MBs do not have tickets linked to them; MBs provide the link to tickets linked to MDX.
