Disney "adult" but kid's meals

Sorry in advance if this is confusing! This is the first year we have a Disney "adult"! (Us: Me, DH, DD 6, DD 10)

My problem is that I do not know if this is allowed-using DDP for some in our party but not all.
I know she will not eat the adult meals, so can we use the dining plan adult credits for myself and my husband and 1 child credit for other DD and pay OOP for the Disney "adult" who gets a kid's meal? (I know at buffets will we use the "adult" credit.)

If this is allowed, out of 5 TS meals we have, if we do this 3 times (the other 2 TS are buffets), we should have 3 Disney "adult" credits left over which would be enough for an extra buffet, correct? In essence, we would pay OOP for her kid's meals at 3 places, but use those unused adult credits for a buffet which is more expensive.

EX:
Cape May: use 1 adult credit
Tusker House: use 1 adult credit
LTT: Pay OOP for Kid's meal (save 1 adult credit)
Plaza: Pay OOP for kid's meal (save 1 adult credit)
Sci Fi: Pay OOP for Kid's meal (save 1 adult credit) AND pay OOP for our other child's kid's meal

Use 3 saved adult credits for myself and husband and the Disney adult and 1 child TS credit for our other DD at Hollywood and Vine


I'm sorry this is confusing! I have been playing with this for a while now and thought someone could shed some light on it for me. TIA!!

Yes you can pay pop for her meals and save the credits. We have done this with cs credits and split meals with dd. We always save enough for an extra meal. I know the Plaza at MK will not allow you to order a kids meal for someone over 9 but I dont know if there are others,

We have the opposite problem. My ds13 refused to order kids meals after he was old enough to order adult meals but often he didn't eat them after they came.

Ah! I wonder what other restaurants do this. I will have to do some research. Thanks for mentioning this.

There have been some posts that The Plaza won't allow it, but even there it varies. Here's a thread with another person's experience (see post #3):

La Hacienda is another TS that has been mentioned a few times.

At both The Plaza and La Hacienda it seemed to depend on the server or the CM at the podium at the time.
