I don't know why it would surprise me that they called me since I have e-mailed Disney before and gotten a call, but I am still really surprised they would actually not just e-mail me but call me about an e-mail I sent them on Sunday.

I e-mailed them on Sunday about some of the frustrations some of us are feeling over the 2013 rates not being out yet. Explained why and even directed them to some threads on here. A rep actually called me and let a message.

Essentially she said she didn't know why the packages were being delayed and they actually don't get told anything about when they will be coming out. She said they actually find out the same time we find out so she can't tell me if they are coming out tomorrow or in 2 months. But that they understood our frustrations and excitement about the packages and she has shared my e-mail with the appropriate department.

It just makes me feel better that they are listening!

Glad you got a response back. Too bad they didn't give us any more information. Guess the waiting game continues. :rolleyes1

OK. Glad Disney was able to placate you. The thing you have to remember is that the release of resort rates in June of last year was an anomaly. In the past they were usually released later in the summer. Everyone just has to try to contain themselves and be patient a little longer.

Even though you are correct LOL I cannot wait!!!!!!! I am so obsessed with getting my 2013 pkg book:lmao:

whats really a bummer is the people waiting for pkgs to be released and already close to 180 days out for ADR's.........

might be some upset people if not released till august. then they try to make adr's for dinners, etc for their dream vacation, only to find out that the resturant is already booked(Jan/FEB)...

I am like the rest waiitng for May 2013. sure would be nice to find out my final pricing to be sure i have enough saved for the trip. Or even start payments. less than a yr to pay off a trip that costs $7000 is not sitting well with me. And it's gotta be payed off 45 days out??????

Plane ticket reservations are already opening up and still no pkgs..their(DISNEY) timing is not the best...

anyone can make ADRS at 180 days whether or not they have a room reservation. They just won't be able to do 180 plus 10.

If you get a room-only reservation (no package, no dining plan, can get tickets from wherever you like) you just pay a deposit, and the rest is due during your stay.

And since no one can make the 180+10 until packages and room-only rates are released, everyone's* in the same boat!

*well, I guess except for DVC members staying on points

I was told the packages for 2013 will be announced between mid July and early August. The Cm I spoke to said this is when they are typically announced and she did not anticipate it being any different this year. We are not going till Sept 2013 and I am anxious to book also... lol!! :cool1:

Last year, packages were released in June, about a week after the ticket increase.

I wonder how many people they "loose" by taking so long to release room rates. Many people who go to WDW don't read message boards. Plus, how are you to book your ADR's 180 days out when you don't know where you'll stay. You don't know where you'll stay because you don't know the rates. Not to mention, if you stay in Jan/Feb, you loose the ADR+10.

WDW looses all the deposit money, also. $200 x 1000 guests who want to book in May or June but can't until August is a lot of lost interest.

Just stupid business on WDW's part if you ask me....

I called just today and got a room quote....they have room prices just not package prices. You can not book a room ressie online though you have to call.

I've said the SAME EXACT thing! A lot of families, especially with kids, plan pretty far in advance so that they can plan around school schedules, work schedules, etc. Less than 6 months out I would think if Disney wasn't accepting reservations I'd move on if I wasn't dead set on going. Who wants to call back over and over again?

How so? I'm Canada and haven't seen anything for packages!

It's just the UK and Europe that have had their packages released. Canadians have to wait along with the US.

Really, even if you make reservations at 180 for January you should be able to get what you want, barring problems with the booking system, which happens (and then nobody else can book either). 180 plus 10 is nice, but you don't really need it if what you are really concerned about is getting into the restaurants. So those who are saying they can't make restaurant reservations without the package - why can't you? The only real problem is the prepaid reservations, which you have to pay for unless you have a room reservation with a dining plan at the time you book.

The prepaid reservations are the reason I'm antsy, haha. I know I can always get them refunded after I book my package though.
