DISmoms Round TWO! Don't Axe, Don't Tell!! 4/30-5/4/10 updates 9/17

So glad this was my last TR to check in on before going running.

Joan - you are rockin' the photobucket pictures. Great pictures! Mr Pumpkinhead is such a hoot!!!!!!! OMG! Classic!

And your morning picture waiting for the bus - lovely. You guys actually look....ummmmm....what's the word I'm looking for - Tame - yeah, that's it! Looks can be deceiving! ;)

The EE story - I saw Tracy's pictures of being stuck up there - it does not look fun at all! I would be freaking out a little - No, wait...I would be freaking out ALOT!!!!!!!

Great updates and pics girls. Very funny!

I have to admit that I had absolutely NO IDEA about EE stopping at the top and guests walking down. It was a GREAT ride, unlike the first time I rode it in 2007 (when we waited in line for an hour while the @#$% thing was being repaired and I was still shaking for an hour after riding it!!!). I had a blast this time, loved that view, stupidly thinking the whole time (silly me) that Kara and Ellen were saying "Oh, no!!" for MY benefit and not that they were really crapping their pants!!! Guess it's a good thing I got that ride in....CAUSE I'M NEVER RIDING IT AGAIN!!!

(Goodbye EE, it was nice knowin' ya.....someone else can scale your towering heights, not this old lady!)

So, after THAT was over, and poor Ellen and Kara recovered (I also don't remember how Pam reacted to the ride....I think she was as oblivious as I was [Pam, you can respond here!!!!:rolleyes1])....and Ellen kissed a monkey or two...... it was time for visit with our good friend Captain Morgan......

I do have to wonder at this point why my husband thinks all we did was drink on this trip......:confused3 :rotfl:
And if we did enjoy a few libations, I think that after that ride on EE, we earned it....

You DID earn it!! Then again for a really good drink I'd say that if you stubbed your toe on the curb. :rotfl:

Ok I hAve no intrnet Again! Typing this on tyler's itouch. 3 hrs on the phone with Dell in India. Which was no help. Sooooo mad!

Gosh I am sooo behind.

Yikes to the being stuck for a while on EE, not fun!!1 But thankfully you guys didn't have to do the walk down. Bet those Captain Morgan's were well received after!

Well, I'm sure there will be more in the near future! But I need to install McAfee on this computer before I'll go on Photobucket and do an update. I have internet access again, thanks to ME and not that idiot woman in India. :headache: We were on the phone for 3 hours on Saturday- the best (among many other moments of supreme supidity) was that after an hour of her trying to fix my problem (which was no Internet access) she asked if I would mind if she worked on my computer remotely. I said "How are you going to do that?" She told me to type this web address in my browser, and she would be able to check out my computer. Ummm....don't you need INTERNET ACCESS FOR THAT????????? Oh no....it will work, she says, just open up the browser and type it in!

I am NOT kidding.:headache: :headache: :headache:

Anyway, Dell sends their new computers with TREND INTERNET SECURITY. And guess what? It doesn't interface well with Windows 7. It gums up the whole thing and freezes the computer. Huh. I would think someone from DELL would know about this problem. Wouldn't you? But it seems they DON'T.

On the bright side, when I was finally able to read emails again this morning, I saw that Dell sent me a message encouraging me to sign up for Trend at $60 per year, because it's what DELL recommends.

NICE....

I have a call into Dell to return the computer (being that I've had it for a whole 2 weeks now) but we'll see how that goes. India said they don't do returns. And India seems soooo stinkin smart she must be right.

On the plus side, DH has FINALLY agreed that our next computer will be a MAC. So I guess SOMETHING good came out of all this.

OMG Ellen - That's is so frustating. Too bad my nephew LJ doesn't live closer to you. I swear that kid would hook you up much faster than the people in India. You may not understand his tech talk, but he knows how to do that kind of stuff and he is only 10!

OMG Joan - :rotfl2:- that pictures is HI - STERICAL and I know Ellen will appreciate it more when she gets her computer fully functioning.

As Far as the Mac goes - I love mine. I bought a used one from a friend who owns a computer store. It is fabulous and Apple's customer service is fabulous. I am sold. I definitely will be sticking with Macs in the future and will spend the extra $ to purchase their apple care.

oh how I wish we lived closer... guess who works for Dell? Tim..sorry the india service was bad. :confused3 They ship stuff with all sorts of things screwed up. Hopefully they won't give you too much trouble. If all else fails write a strongly worded letter.. those are still handled in the US. Sad I know.

GOOD LUCK!

Well, I'm sure there will be more in the near future!
I want to see an "Ellen Kissing Monkeys" slideshow/powerpoint:laughing:.....a little foreshadowing of events to come (See, high school English does apply to our real lives!!)
