DISmoms Gone WILD!!!!! A trip to WDW w/out the KIDS!!!10/6 Updates p.36 FINISHED!

Yes I sent him fishing on our 4th day there. He's not a big disney freak like me so I needed something for him to do. He doesn't golf and said that the spa was a bit girly for him. He took off from DTD and headed up toward the tree houses on the river. He went mid-day but did catch his largest bass ever. He said he would do it again if he could go in the morning. The midday price wasn't too bad- I think $150 for a few hours. The AM ones sounded better and he really wants to go again. He loves his fishing. This was the first year that I can remember that he didn't get to Canada to go Muskie fishing.

I wanted to send my kids because I know there are sooooooooooooo many fish in the lake they would be sure to catch something! But they really wanted to golf- maybe next time! What's a muskie?:confused3

In the east, we have had a very bad growing season because of the cold temps and excess rain in June- tomatoes are literally falling off the vine-Blech!
BTW, did you book on the cruise yet? I'd hate to have to throw Pods overboard so you could fit in my cabin!:rotfl:
WELL I would hate for that to have to happen... you know i would be just cant... yet the price is quite nice... but its a western.. If we do another it would be an Eastern since weve already done the western

hmm that tea might be perfect for me and my girls when we go in a year and half. I'll send Tim fishing again. It is truely amazing what all WDW holds. People don't get it when I say it is more than the attractions.
Funny my friends dont get it either, and when I tell them i have to made "reservations" for dinner they ask why, dont you just eat hamburgers all day.. HECK NO lol

And no, we are not on the same cruise with Kara- that is during tax season, and DH can't go then. We are going on the Oct 30th 2010 western DCL and are trying to talk Drea into going, too.
between you and Jen yall are killing me LOL :rotfl:

btw love the hoyty toyty way yall get down in the GF lol That would so be me. I agree finger samiches always taste better all cut up and cute. Ive read over and over the scones are yummy too... uggg someday ill do it probably by myself LOL

I just logged into DCL for the first time since making my reservation. Can I just tell you my hands are shaking now? I have those warm fuzzies when an upcoming Disney trip is finally REAL!!!!! I AM SO FREAKIN EXCITED all of a sudden!!!!!

Thinking of keeping this trip a surprise from Ally - she knows I booked it, but she doesn't know when. This might be fun!

:yay::yay::yay: So excited for you! Yes, like Ellen said, get the Passporter, find the DIS thread of people sailing with you, and order the DCL video - watch it about 500 times! :thumbsup2 That's how I got through the waiting time for ours!

Looks like it might be locked, but I'm sure Lynn gave a link in the last post.

I'm so glad you're going! :cheer2:

they would catch a ton! Golf is fun too. A muskie is a really vicious fish that reminds me of an alligator. it grows upwards of 36 inches long. They have teeth that can take off your hand. They hunt baby ducks. Makes sense why you want to catch them? :rotfl2: It is crazy. I've caught one once (that was enough for me) the fight was like nothing else I've ever caught. It bit thru the line before I got it near the boat.

here is a photo from my BIL in Canada, notice the gloves. they make a nasty slime. I still can't figure why they go after them with such a vengance. The baits are outrageously expensive.

And I thought bluefish were rough!!! Holy crap! :rotfl: Right now I can only think of one thing- did you ever see "Journey to the Center of the Earth", the recent one with Brendan Frasier? Do you remember the scene where the fish are flying out of the water at them, all teeth, and they are hitting them away like they're playing baseball???? :scared1: THAT is how I picture your muskie fishing!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We thought it would be a nice idea to try something a little different for our day, mostly because we were soaked to the bone and freezing to boot. It had been raining so hard for so long, the ponchos were a joke. We needed real rain gear!! We needed something warm and dry!!!! We needed to make a trip to the Wilderness Lodge to see if the Pacific Northwest had sent over some dry clothes for us to wear!

2009_052006summer0396.jpg

Lonnie had never seen WL, so we thought we'd give it a shot- and maybe have a shot of Gran Marinier to warm up with in case all else failed.

2009_052006summer0398.jpg

And then we saw it- the ultimate in Pacific Northwest rain gear- isn't great?

2009_052006summer0399.jpg

Too bad we weren't willing to drop $225 to wear it out of the store! :scared1: Umm....can we both fit in there??? Oh well. Our search continued. Until we came upon what every good log cabin boasts- a fireplace! :worship: But not just any fireplace....this was a fireplace for dancing in, a fireplace for warming everything up in- a great, big butt warmer fireplace!!!!

2009_052006summer0400.jpg

2009_052006summer0401.jpg

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......that fireplace is my new favorite must-do at WDW....well, in a monsoon, anyway. We decided to skip the Gran Marnier, but CAMMIE- we WILL be THERE in May 2010 for the GM flight!! :thumbsup2 A quick peek outside-

2009_052006summer0402.jpg

at the rain falling UP, and we were ready to move on to another resort tour... where the gift shop is tiny & small, but the rain gear selection ROCKS!!!!!

We STILL were on a quest for some rain gear that would actually keep the wet OUT and the dry IN, as opposed to what we had, which was keeping the wet IN and the dry...well, there was no dry to keep out, so let's just say that ponchos SUCK! :scared1: We thought it would be nice to go and see Kidani, being that it had just opened a couple weeks before, and I couldn't wait to explore it when I made my trip with the family in November. We parked underneath (ahhh...a GOOD thing! UNDER = DRY!! ) and headed upstairs to explore the new resort. Out the window, we saw #32!

2009_052006summer0409.jpg

Of course I couldn't leave him out, we haven't seen one in a while! We went through the lobby and made our way over to the library to try to snag a seat in front of the fireplace on a comfy couch- but missed that seat by just a minute! Oh well... we had more important issues to attend to-

The lobby-

We stopped into the littlest gift shop in probably any resort (although to be fair, this is AKL's 2nd gift shop, so I think it's pretty nice there is one at all) on Disney property. But, sometimes, size doesn't matter, nice things come in small packages, it's not the size of the wave that counts, it's the motion in the ocean (not that that applies HERE, but I'm throwing it in for good measure ;)) and good things come to those who wait...because there, on one of their 3 shelves...there it was! THE BEST DANG RAIN GEAR IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!! We'll take 2, please- DVC fans 4 life!!!! (Lonnie, the non-DVC member, will proudly model hers later in this post). Anyway, here'a a statue that some DISers think is profane-

Where I made my one and only pin trade with that cute little girl i couldn't refuse (her first time, too. Soooo glad she didn't ask for that D23 UBER geek pin! Cuz you KNOW I would have given it to her!!!). Then on to the arcade for some pics to show my boys-

Then we were out to the pool to check IT out- in a light drizzle, I might add. See?? The raingear is working already.

It was about this time that we started to get a little punch drunk. Before we went on to get drunk drunk.;) I think it was just all too much water everywhere, and our brains were soaked- not even in alcohol, but just soaked and maybe lacking oxygen! So, for the next few hours....ummmm...we kind of laughed like hyenas at everything. Sorry it just couldn't be helped! :rolleyes1

Ok- so I guess I'm the only one laughing like a hyena in that video, but Loni started acting stupid TOO! I was not ALONE!:rotfl2:We decided to stop at BCV on the way into Epcot- so we could check out my other new home. :dance3: I was a little excited-

Up next- an evening to remember and I can't BELIEVE I missed those double waiters!

Not sure when I'll post, but I'm hoping SOON- I leave on Friday morning with DH for Vero (no matter what my screwed up ticker says!) so in 3 days from right now, I'll be giggling with Lonnie at the beach!!! :woohoo:
I'm going upstairs now to pack. :thumbsup2 :cool1:

I can't believe all that water! We've been there at the end of May with almost no rain. Thanks for the warning.

Funny Thing happened on the way to watch your video - I had a RFC website up - it was perfectly silent until I opened your video - I heard some perfect African Jungle music complete with monkeys howling and everything. I thought, "wow, Ellen is really into her video editing - I wish I knew how to do that," I closed out the video, and the music kept playing and playing. I was searching all over the place for the photobucket so I could turn it off! Somehow the RFC site had started playing right on Cue for you! :worship: Yes you are the princess of coolness! :rotfl2:

Have a great time! :woohoo: I hope that means another TR! ::yes::

Thanks- and yes, it probably does mean another TR!!!:goodvibes

The rain was a fluke- just a crazy weather pattern that will hopefully never happen again!!

And I'm not THAT cool- the music didn't play on mine!!:rotfl:

Well, I'm back!! Had a great time at Vero with lonnie & Mike (a little TOO much fun one night!!:crazy2:) and a great time at WDW and OKW with DH- golfed twice, ate sooooooooooooooooooooo much, actually spent an entire day getting massages and lying by the pool and then eating at V&A's....even went for a bike ride through DTD (before we got kicked out by the CM on a segway!) :rotfl:. Wow.... I seriously got way behind on your TR. I love your latest update. That rain is unfreak'in real. It looks like a monsoon. That does not look fun and I hope its NEVER like that when I go. After seeing those pics I will never complain about being hot again.

Sounds like you had a great trip at Vero and OKW. Can't wait to read about that trip.

How many DVC points do you have anyway?????? It's got to be a ton. You Lucky, lucky girl!

Ya know, the rain was stinky, but it made me appreciate the quick-rain of a usual trip a whole lot more- so there was a silver lining! And we did have fun laughing at it. It didn't make us mad- it was just kind of, oh, look at that- never saw THAT before! :scared1:

And we don't have a ton of points- we have 225 at AKV and 125 at BCV- we got the BCV this year and it had banked 08 points- which EXACTLY covered our stay now and in May with the DISmoms- except for the Friday night that we rented points for from a friend. :goodvibes It was less to rent the points than pay Disney, even with the cash discount. :thumbsup2

I posted some food pics from F&W on the thread for F&W on the restaurant reviews board if you're interested, to hold you over until I start my TR. :goodvibes

Ahhh if only you could turn water into wine, :thumbsup2
