DISmoms 3! If the Tiara fits... 5/13-5/17/11 Complete! 11/8!

OK, let's backtrack a bit now, shall we? I have photos, and I'm not afraid to use them......

I will drop back to our trip to Grand Floridian, and this time there was no Amazing Race to the resort. Sadly. I did so enjoy our race to GF last year when we were headed to Narcoosee's. Could be because I was not a LOSER!!!!!

Is that why we didn't race this year, Ellen? Cause everyone wanted to be on our team? Everyone wanted to be winners and we all know, the world NEEDS losers, mainly to point out the winners. Which would be Ellen and Kara. :snooty:

But I digress. We can all be winners today.

I'll drink to that! Cheers!

Who doesn't love tea? I feel positively Poppins when I have a spot o' tea in the afternoon.

And the fact that this was the THIRD time I've had the same server. Just love it! It almost feels like she was waiting for us. Poor thing will have to skip a year next year, maybe we should have warned her so she's not waiting by the door like a cocker spaniel waiting for its master to arrive? Well, maybe I'll stop in and see her in December? If I can convince my crazy sister and teenage niece that it IS cool to have tea and be girly?

And girly we were..... just LOVE it!

DSC_0012.jpg

Well, girly until the grub arrived. No? You can't call it grub when it's so pretty? Ok then, when the tarts arrived..... now that sounds like something my husband would say on HIS boys trips!

DSC_0013.jpg

DSC_0014.jpg

I will not bore you again with the tale of the lady in the lobby, but here are Ellen and Laura heading out to meet her. I'm so glad they did that - it must have made her day!!!! :goodvibes

DSC_0018.jpg

After the perfect amount of tarts, and I'm not talking about Joan and Evie this time.......

it was time to head back to Epcot.

Who says we're not ladies????

DSC_0021.jpg

DSC_0022.jpg

Making our way through Epcot......

DSC_0024.jpg

I was looking down for evidence of Laura's mishap, but the cleaning crews got it all taken care of....

DSC_0029.jpg

Whew! I'm dizzy after that!!!!

The funny thing is that we didn't have much time to kill before we picked up a stray back in Mexico..... ;)

And why don't I have a pick of Jen and Savannah?????

So wish I would have felt better at this time. I love "talking" to Jen on the DIS and would have loved to have cut up even more in person.

DSC_0035.jpg

I was not overly impressed with La Hacienda. It was PERFECT for us this night - just a few appys and drinks, but the menu did not appeal to me at all.

I do know that we all felt better after a couple of these....

DSC_0038.jpg

a few of these....

DSC_0036.jpg

and some laughs over the facebook posts that Laura was planting on her profile. I believe she mentioned "a boat."

A few minutes later her status was updated to "unmanned boat" and what should a bunch of DISmoms do....

That post was followed an hour or so later by a check-in at the Orange County Jail!!!!! :rotfl2:

So glad it was HER husband that was seeing those posts and not mine!!!!!

I'll be back later to tell the REAL story of Davy Jones and the Monkeys. It's obvious that SOMEONE became a "hermit" after the slushy stand.....

I hearby dub you an HOnorary DISmom because, ya know why?

"Did you ever know that you're my heeeeerooooooooo!" :cool1:

Photobucket is MINE now! MUAHAHAHAHA!!!!! I got all my pics set so now I will go back and correct all the LIES and UNTRUTHS told by Ellen! That monkey lovin fool!!! She only THINKS I'm stuck in photobucket..... well, I'll fix her... and her little dog too!

Back soon with the REAL story of DISmoms 3!

Well...I guess Honorary DISmom is good enough for me...because I wouldn't qualify for the real thing...I guess I better go find the DISdad group... :rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Who knew????? We'll call you the honorary rooster in the hen house!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Sounds good to me...Just like growing up...all sisters, no brothers for me:confused3...but all you women are freaking hysterical! That is why I keep reading! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'd really like to do one of those teas, but I don't think that I could hold my pinky finger in the air for that long!

You all look so normal in the morning, but of course whoever took that picture needs ot be taught a lesson. :rotfl2:

Wow! I missed a lot! It took me a while to get caught back up!

Ellen - I can't believe you were super secret agent woman taking food porn photos from your balcony! :rotfl: Love it!

Kara - can't wait to see the real pics! I'm glad you're getting photobucket figured out - i thought it was my computer at first, since i'd been gone so long.

Dragwit - you need to join us groupies! We love to live vicariously through the Dismoms! :thumbsup2

I will go back and answer replies soon- just wanted to get an update in since it's been a while!:goodvibes We've got to finish up this TR...I'm leaving for WDW four weeks from tomorrow, and I can only juggle so many TRs at a time....:scared:

So....Kara, Lonnie, Joanie & I were going to Flying Fish for dinner. I had only been here once before- and on that night, I was with my family, and dinner took nearly 3 hours. On our last night. When we were hoping to go to Epcot after our meal. Which we obviously could not, because the park closed 20 minutes after we got the check. And our meals were not worth 3 hours of our time. But the manager was very apologetic, she did admit that they had had an off night in the kitchen, and when we got back to the room, there were stuffed Mickeys and signed photos for all the kids- so they did their very best to make things magical, and we of course forgave them by purchasing DVC the next day. So I was very much looking forward to a better meal this time...

IMG_1774.jpg

I have read reviews of FF where people say the themeing is dull, or plain, or not really anything. SERIOUSLY???? I think it's so pretty in FF!

IMG_1775.jpg

IMG_1782.jpg

IMG_1785.jpg

It was so hard to decide what to order!! It all sounded delicious! We were served bread....

IMG_1786.jpg

And look! You can fly the friendly skies with the friendly flying fish!!

IMG_1789.jpg

IMG_1787.jpg

Mmmmm...I love Chenin Blanc- one of my favorites....I love these pics of us-

IMG_1790.jpg

IMG_1791.jpg

I started with Yellowfin Tuna Tartare and crispy tempura tuna vegetable Sushi roll - Hijiki and wakame seaweed, yuzu, tobiko, and wasabi foam, with a sweet and spicy sauce - $16.00

IMG_1792.jpg

IMG_1793.jpg

IMG_1794.jpg

IMG_1795.jpg

In case you haven't guessed by all the pics I took- I LOVED this. It was PERFECTION- fresh, spicy, crunchy, a little sweet...ohhhh...yummmmmmmm..... without a doubt my favorite sushi yet at WDW. It will be a MUST DO for me every time I am staying within walking distance of the BW (Pods & I are planning to head over there one night next month for a nightcap and one of these at the bar...can't WAIT!).

Kara & Joan had Soup of the Day - BLT soup. Crispy smoked bacon, Epcot land pavilion bibb lettuce, chive creme fraiche, tiny tomatoes and chive infused oil - $12.00

IMG_1796.jpg

Sadly, it was very blahhhhhh.....Lonnie had Signature Flying Fish Cafe Crisp Jonah Crab Cake - Served with Savory Vegetable, Roasted Red Pepper Coulis and Ancho Chili Remoulade. - $16.00

IMG_1797.jpg

And actually...I did, too. I really wanted to try the crabcake here because it gets amazing reviews.

IMG_1798.jpg

Joan tried it, too- and we both thought the same thing...it was very good, but it just didn't hold a candle to the Crabcake we love in North Carolina in OBX at the Ocean Grille. I am actually beginning to HATE that OBX crabcake, because it has ruined all others for me! :headache: The FF crabcake would have been better to us if it had more big lump crab in it. Although there was not a lot of filler, the crab was not lump, it was shredded.

I also ordered a Caesar Salad - Young Red and green romaine leaves, Roasted Garlic dressing, parmigiano Sonoma jack frico and pesto sourdough croutons - $11.00 , which I thought was good-

IMG_1799.jpg

Lonnie & Joan shared Grilled Winter Crop Jumbo Asparagus - With Sauce Foyot - $8.00

IMG_1800.jpg

They loved this. Kara and some others went for Signature Flying Fish Cafe Potato-wrapped Red Snapper - Leek Fondue with a veal glace, red wine and Cassis butter reduction - $36.00

IMG_1802.jpg

I'm sure Kara will tell you what she thought- I didn't try it. And I don't have pics of what Lonnie ordered- I think Kara took some, though. After dinner, some of us got a coffee martini for dessert-

IMG_1803.jpg

Cont'd next post-

So...we were having the world's BEST coffee martini for dessert....

IMG_1804.jpg

Not kidding- that is the best one I have ever had- sweet and yummy!! :worship:

I don't think we had anything else for dessert. And we wanted to get going over to DHS, so we paid and left. But I think we all felt the same about the meal- some EXTREMELY delicious food and some MEH food...although I wish I had tried the scallops, because I have a feeling I really would have enjoyed those- so I might go back for that. In the meantime, I think I will come in and sit at the bar for that Tuna and one of those coffee tinis...although maybe not all at once.

IMG_1805.jpg

IMG_1808.jpg

IMG_1809.jpg

I did ask, and they told me there was open seating at the bar to the right- the bar on the left in front of the kitchen was for the Chef's tasting menu guests, I believe.

Once we were outside, we saw the fantastic BW entertainment in full swing-

IMG_1810.jpg

We walked through the BW Bakery....

IMG_1811.jpg

And when we were done perusing, went back outside. The frivolity of the whole trip was in full force-

IMG_1812.jpg

IMG_1813.jpg

We were laughing...but we were FREEZING!! It was COLD down there in Florida that night! So some of the ladies went upstairs to get a jacket...I didn't have one, so I stayed down on the BW and browsed through the Wyland Galleries-

IMG_1814.jpg

IMG_1815.jpg

IMG_1816.jpg

IMG_1817.jpg

IMG_1818.jpg

There's some gorgeous art in that gallery....

Lonnie was sitting on a bench. Remember THIS?

IMG_1643.jpg

Well, Lonnie had some MAJOR hair envy over the guy she was sharing the bench with-

IMG_1819.jpg

IMG_1820.jpg

Up next- You on like Donkey Kong....

you all looked marvelous darling! That food did look good. It was a tough choice between there and the castle. But then again that Wishes always is a killer for me so it draws me in every time. I just saw your ticker. Man are you ever going to be home! LOL!!!!! love ya!

I liked the interior of FF, but nothing that you ate sounded good to me. I'm so picky when it comes to seafood. No raw tuna for me nor crab anything.:thumbsup2

FF has an awesome steak, if you like steak! We get it every time we go there!

I hearby dub you an HOnorary DISmom because, ya know why?

Back soon with the REAL story of DISmoms 3!

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Is Ellen on the Disboards in this shot? It sure looks like the disboard screen from here!

Yes- I was checking in and saying hello, I believe- and that was at 9 am, NOT 3 AM Kara Jean!!!

ABSOLUTELY!!!!:thumbsup2

Sounds good to me...Just like growing up...all sisters, no brothers for me:confused3...but all you women are freaking hysterical! That is why I keep reading! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

We are all very glad you keep reading- and very glad you think we're funny- when we're together WE think we're hysterical, too! :rotfl:

I'd really like to do one of those teas, but I don't think that I could hold my pinky finger in the air for that long!

You all look so normal in the morning, but of course whoever took that picture needs ot be taught a lesson. :rotfl2:

Pinky-schminky- do the tea! It's wonderful and amazing!! SOOOOOOO girly! :cutie:

:thumbsup2

I think I was secret crazy food porn agent woman when I took those pics! :rotfl2:

The sashimi tuna roll looked AMAZING! yummo.

We all agreed (ok- Kara & I agreed- the other two won't eat raw tuna- although I have sean Joan eat raw tuna when I make it, but I digress) that this app was second only to the scallop/short rib at Blue Zoo- although, really, it's probably a tie. :goodvibes

Well, it looks like I missed not one, BUT TWO, updates. :sad2: Bad Me! Rough Week. No Excuse. I'll be back to see pics, but I am one of those people who does not love the interior of the Flying Fish. It's too 80's chic for me. I just don't love it, except I think the counters are very pretty and the floor in the entrance way.

The food on the other hand - YUM!!!! I had the scallops there and they were probably the best scallops I have had anywhere (except I guess from the Bluezoo, from what you tell me). Perfection, IMHO! Plus I really enjoyed the CM's there. I am glad, overall, it was a god experience. Looking forward to pics.

Now - It's starting to come back to me, but I think I DID have the crab cake at the ocean grille and it was EXCELLENT!

Thanks for all the HHI recommendations. I had fun checking out their menus yesterday! :goodvibes

Eventually the four of us went over to DHS- I believe we walked over to take the boat from the Swalphin, so we wouldn't have to just sit and wait at the BW....

IMG_1823.jpg

As I had mentioned, it was SERIOUSLY chilly that night- and Kara and I were c-c-c-c-c-c-cold! SO we went in search of a sweatjacket...which, BTW, was NOT easy to find (unless you were looking for something UGLY or something to wear as a 10 year old OR something to wear as a 400 lb gentleman). It honestly took us several stores to find "the one" and we ended up with the same thing- a black zippered sweatshirt with some psychedelic Mickey type stitching. :thumbsup2 Most important, we were finally WARM!!!!:cloud9:

I guess the cool weather was in our favor, though...because DHS was not crowded AT ALL and we were able to go Stand-by on TSM with maybe a 15 minute wait!

IMG_1824.jpg

I said hello to my friends....

IMG_1826.jpg

IMG_1828.jpg

We rushed by Mr. Potato Head...no line!

IMG_1829.jpg

And we got ready for the BIG TSM challenge-

Click to play

Of course, Kara went down in flames. I had the high score for that round of all the cars- but I didn't get my camera out fast enough, so you'll just have to take my word for it.

Of course, Kara might tell you different...but Kara's a bit delusional, so don't believe a word....;)

Next we went for a walk,

IMG_1830.jpg

And Joanie the Castle fan got a little....personal....with a poster-

IMG_1834.jpg

We were reunited with Evie & Laura, who were over the moon about the MM&Y show they had just seen at MK. But can you blame them? I can't WAIT to see it again! We stumbled upon these guys-

IMG_1835.jpg

And...OMG....my friend Evie. :scared1: She gives the word un-inhibited a whole new meaning....

IMG_1837.jpg

:rotfl2::rotfl2: She's a dancin fool, that Evie!! :lmao:

We were all (almost) up for one more ride before we left EMH and headed back to sniff....sniff....pack up-

IMG_1838.jpg

WOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IMG_1839.jpg

Ahhh....what a great ride to hit before bedtime! ;)

Up next...our last day, and saying goodbye....

Glad you and Kara found a sweatshirt. I was getting worried about the cold for you, because to me that is the worst. :cold:

Sounds like a seriously fun last day! Yeah for finding a sweater!!!!!! Very hard to do at Disney! :)

I cannot believe your trip is almost over, but thankfully you will soon embark on a new adventure ....... looking forward to MORE!!!!!!!!!!!! :cloud9:

Finally caught up again. Can't believe it's almost over. :sad2:
