Ok - this is a diva speaking, but that really skeeves me - it's bad enough that you have to use items that others have used in a hotel, but the added moving it back and forth, plugging and unplugging, how clean can that be? etc... not worth the savings, in my diva opinion. Rags - what do you really want the fridge for? If you are making a "grocery stop" - pick up one of those styrofoam coolers and bring ziploc bags... just keep filling the bags with ice from the ice machine at the hotel. This way it only melts in the bag, and you can dump it before it is totally water - and you can throw out the whole kit and kaboodle before you leave. Just my humble opinion...

well I have two things going against me this trip

Mods have fridges already in them. None of them, including the fridge swap, have real capability of freezing. At least I don't think so. It's mainly for refrigeration. We loved having the fridge at POR. We kept a quart of milk, yogurt, grapes in it for the kids.

Yeah- I am debating upgrading to a Mod, the double sink, size, curtain to separate the areas and fridge are all things that would make me upgrade

cost and I think the girls would like the theming to Pop more are reasons for the Value

The mod pools have slides ... now that is sure to win a kid's heart! I've been to CBR and POR twice. If you have any questions, just ask.

I usually stay at a Mod (My mom only stays at mods and she has paid for all my trips except one- and even that one she paid for my upgrade from value to mod )

I'm looking at a price difference of between $300-$375 depending on what discount I can get


Have the kids liked Mods over value? Since it is there first, and probably only trip unless we take them again- I would like for them to like everything about the trip (Of course using your Fantasmic logic, they won't miss what they don't know )

I would look into upgrading to a moderate for 2 reasons. The fridge is included, the rooms are larger, and the pools are much nicer - slides and such. OK... that was 3 reasons, but you get the idea!

I took a pic of my Christmas tree weeks ago... but never had the time to post it. I stay SO busy lately that I hardly get a chance to sit at the computer at all. We had Christmas at 4 different homes during Christmas week, 2 of which were out of town. We went to 3 parties, church, shopping, etc. We also had 2 deaths in the family, so had back to back funerals about 2 hours from home. Throw Girl and Boy Scouts into the mix, and I hardly see Wynn! I am hoping to take down my Christmas tree today... if I can get a spare hour or 2!

No trip for us to Disney this year. We are going to do Sea World and Kennedy Space Center when we go on our cruise in Oct. We may do one of the Disney mini-golf to squeeze in a Disney fix. I would really like to do MNSSHP, but I am worried we will be too tired to enjoy it... even if I could swing the extra $$$.

We stayed at CSR both family trips, and the first time ever staying on property for any of us. My kids LOVED it. We check into the Comfort Inn for our first night, and the kids comment that they can't wait to get to our "real" hotel last trip! Pool slide at CSR is awesome!

Meant to add that when taking kids to the park, take water or juice boxes and small snacks like Nutri-Grain bars, goldfish, mini marshmallows, etc in your bag. Keep in mind that juice makes kids pee more often, though!

Pretty tree, Kari! Ours is still up - we ALWAYS keep it up until Epiphany, and if it is in good shape, we hold it over for Bob's birthday on the 11th. So far, this sucker is still drinking - so it looks like it will celebrate Bob's birthday with us. LOL

Rags - I think, with kids that age, the moderate pools will be a treat for them. We've stayed at POR and when it was "Dixie Landings" and both area pools were really neat. We have a built in pool in our backyard, so we tend not to spend much time at the hotel's pools. Dana's at the age where she LOVES the water parks, so we will take a day for Blizzard Beach and a day for Typhoon Lagoon this trip. (that Typhoon Lagoon wave pool makes me nervous - I like the "Bob Pool" at Blizzard Beach better. )

I am not a pool fan at all, the less time at the pool, the better- However, I would really love to go to a waterpark as I haven't been to one at Disney since the first one that has since closed down

Never stayed at a value either. The last time we stayed at a Moderate well it was when Dixie Landings was there. I know it's there now just under a new name.

Well, I guess I have to speak up for the Values...we have never stayed anywhere else. We plan on staying at ASSp & ASMo this year. We don't spend much time in the room so up to this point we haven't been able to justify the extra $$. Our summer trip last year was the most time we had spent in the pool too. Our 2 trips this year Feb 28 - Mar 2 and Dec 20 - Dec 23 will be too short for us to have much time to swim or be in the room. When we go for another long vacation we might consider a moderate. Ok enough for the Value commercial back to the question at hand...

Yes, we participated in a Pop fridge swap in June. We were there for 9 nights so $7.56 was much better than $90. Ours was cold enough to freeze water bottles in the fridge part!! And it was very clean. Let me know if you want to know which one we used...I just unsubscribed from the thread yesterday.
