 CONGRATS GIRL!!!!!!!

Yeah, I think it's pretty lame of them to do that. They seem to be getting more and more greedy and that is something that really irks me!

Thanks! I agree, hey seem to be getting greedy. DH and I just had the same conversation. I said they're getting too big for their britches. It's losing some of the fun.

Shelby - planning on going to the U2 concert at the Meadowlands. If my sister is crazy enough, she may purchase tickets to the Philly show as well. I'll let you know.

I said this on my facebook and I'll say it again. I feel that when NKOTB first reunited, they did it for the fans and seemed to genuinely enjoy it. Now I feel as if they're more motivated by the money than anything else. It was a blast back in 2008 and 2009 but these CasiNO shows were short for the money you paid. (Even though I had a blast with Shelby!) It felt half-assed, other than the RCMH show. I'm sure I'll go to a NKOTBSB show to check it out but I'm beginning to lose interest.

I'm going to try to go to a show. The thing that stinks is now that they are touring together they're going to go back to arenas. I really liked the smaller venues. I didn't mind seeing them at Boston Garden the first time because there was so much initial excitement, but now a lot of that has worn off. I don't want to be clear across the arena and watch it on the screen.

Being on the other side of the music industry I see a lot of stuff that goes on. With that being said, when the fan club prices were set up, more than likely, most if not all the guys were either mis-informed or not told at all. They almost never know what goes on, on that side of the spectrum. I recently just saw a band I promote almost sue Artist Arena for not disclosing to them in the 32 page long contract that their membership had increased from $30 to $50 a year. Artist Arena just let go of the whole project and the fan club became immediately defunct and refunds issued so they wouldn't get sued. AND, some artists just sign whatever and don't care until it's too late. Each guy has their own manager, it's the managers responsibility to inform and get approval on things like this. Other instances are pay back situations. Say on the last tour, they used xxx money for bus rentals. But it ended up being xxxxx. So on this go around, so they don't pay out of pocket right then, they hike prices in other areas to cover cots that may incur. So basically they're covering their ***. And from a record company aspect, if you aren't moving units, or selling lots of iTunes singles, your label is only going to foot so much of the bill in the beginning, and it's what you make that will pay back the label and then pay for the rest later on. And fyi, the NKOTB album didn't do so hot. :( Plus, when the second leg of the '08 tour in MAY/JUNE where a lot of shows were cancelled due to *production issues* BS! It was poor ticket sales and the venues forced a cancel.

So, don't immediately say they've gotten greedy or get pissed at them personally. 95% of the whole sha-bang is out of their hands. They're told when to rehearse, when to eat, when to be on stage, when to be on the bus, and in some instances when to take a sh*t. Sad, but true. Hope this helps my fellow blockettes understand. :) Here's pixie dust to us all in getting great seats to whatever show you can make it to!!! :thumbsup2

Exactly. In the end it is a business and the goal of a business is to make money. It isn't like the $$$ from fan club memberships are going into the guys pockets, they are covering costs to operate the business. As for the prices, they are a little high but those prices are based on what the management team knows the fans will pay for it. Supply and demand. And I doubt anyone... management, band, fans... thought this reunion would still be going strong nearly 3 years later. Especially since, like 1rockinmama said, it wasn't hugely successful. The guys are still in it for the fans. The management team has to do what they have to do to make it happen.

As for me, I am just excited that I might be able to see a show again. After seeing 5 in 08/09, I haven't been to one since April 09. Dates and locations have not worked. Hoping this time it does!

$80 seems steep. U2 is only $50. And NKOTB is NOT U2 in any way, shape, or form. Sorry. I understand it's a business and it's about making money. But when prices keep going up and things are being announced and then 2 weeks later, they want you to fork over money (which happens constantly with these guys), I begin to feel taken advantage of as a fan. Especially when I feel something is sub-par that I've paid a lot of money for and Donnie tells the fans to stop complaining. Nice.

I will not be getting fan club membership at this time. I think that all the extras will be leaked anyway. So I wil just wait.

Since I have not been here in a while - Divorce was final on Oct 13. So I am just still taking it one day at a time. Really starting to stress over money for christmas for the boys but I know it will all work out. God has a plan. Just stinks since I only work 2 days a week and they are getting older so their wish lists are way more $$$$.

I promise I will check in more often.

I think it is pretty common to announce a tour and then have tickets go on sale soon after. Bon Jovi just announced new dates and we are going to try to see them in SA. It was announced two weeks ago and tix go on sale this week. With the U2 prices, they have a different fan base. I am sure their management set the prices to what they knew their fan base would pay. It is just a matter of figuring out what you want as a consumer. If it isn't for you, which most of us agree it isn't for us, don't buy it. We know the advantages of it will not be that great, but for some of those die hard crazies... and we all know who they are ;) ... they have to feel like they are "included" and they will buy into it. I think the management was right on with this one, they know a lot of people will buy into it just for that reason. Good business move. Those of us who are smart enough to know we don't need it will be better off in the end.

If you can't buy tickets now, I think you will be fine if you just wait until later. You'll have a better chance of getting better seats by doing it that way anyway. Even if the shows sell out (which I doubt it will) Stubhub will always have good tix available. Or do what I am going to do and ask for tickets (or $$$ for them) for Christmas!

That said, here is my reason why I think presale opps through fan clubs are ridiculous... a few years ago when Miley Cyrus was doing the Hannah Montana tour my friend bought a fan club membership so they could use the presale to get better tickets. All the presale did for them was get them nosebleed seats. Her neighbor who bought during the general public onsale was up front on the floor. :sad2:

Back to NKOTB, I will miss the Ning site if it goes away. I hardly ever go on there anymore but it was always good for entertainment when I was bored! Also, who has their fingers crossed that the Boys II Men deal works out? That would be awesome!!! We are dragging our hubbies to a show this time and my BFF's hubby LOVES Boys II Men, lol!

Good to see you here! Thinking of you!!!

It's not just concerts. They do the same thing with the cruises too. That's a lot of money to hand over 2 weeks after you announced it. All I'm saying is, they're not nearly as big as they used to be, so don't charge like you are. I know U2 is a different fan base but they're one of the biggest bands in the world. The fact that NKOTB is charging more than them for admission to their fan club is laughable to me. We all have different opinions. This is just mine. The initial hysteria from the reunion has worn off.

But they don't have a probelm selling out the cruise and we always know the announcement is coming. I look at as if I can't afford it then, chances are good I wouldn't be able to anyway. Just looking at it from the business point of view.

No fan clubs for me, I've spent enough money on those boys. Honestly, even if I wasn't getting a little put off by them...I would not be going to one of these shows. Seeing them in such a small venue where they're only a few feet away has spoiled me for life. I wouldn't be able to go see them in a big arena. Seriously, nothing will ever top being front row and able to reach the stage (and having Jordan hold my hand!) so I need to just save my money. Thankfully, with all the new developments they're making it easy for me to do that.

I do agree the fan club price is stupid. I'm not joining it but those women who gotta have all those little bells and whistles will pay that $80. And that's fine.

I do agree with everyones talk about announcing a show then it going on sale 2 weeks later for a date 6 months away. I also hate being lied to. Like I said in a previous post, the arena blamed the production crew for the cancelling of several dates back in may/june of last year, but in fact it was poor ticket sales. I had F*%#$(@ 11th row middle seats for the Charlotte show and it got nixed b/c they hadn't sold but 4% of the lawn seats and only 3/4 of assigned seats. Sad.

As stated, I see where fans feel they're getting taken advantage of. But like I said, the guys themselves don't have a clue what's going on and it's all their managers, producers, and business staff running their lives basically. :( Hope everyone can make it to a show, get their WOOOOOOO on, and not break the bank doing it. :)

I emailed ILoveAllAccess to ask ticket prices, just for the heck of it...and the Premium tickets for front row are $695  I just can't justify that, I've been blessed to have front row in my life on 3 different occasions, once on the Magic Summer tour :) once on the Face The Music tour and on the first leg of the Reunion tour so I can't see paying those prices....I agree with you N&B's Mom, thanks but no thanks....love them but think I'll save my $$$ for a family trip to Disney ;)

$695! :scared1: I couldn't even justify spending the $300 it was for the other shows. I'm almost afraid to look at what ticket prices will be.

I haven't been on twitter much today but did see that the prices are now on ticketmaster for the dates that have been released. Looked like normal prices, $45ish-$100ish. I will go check it out and post back.
