Can't believe that Michael Jackson died. Wow, what a day this has been.

It's all so sad. What a shock. I have a friend that was a HUGE MJ fan. Like us with NKOTB. She is devastated. Lives out of state so I can't be there with her.:sad1:

So sad. When I worked at Houlihan's, they used to play his songs all the time and my friends and I would do the choreography from Beat It. I used to try and memorize all of his dances when I was little. No matter what went on in his personal life, he had a tremendous career and influenced a lot of people. He'll be missed.

Michael Jackson was my first true love. For my fourth birthday, I took my money and bought a MJ locket and purse. I listened to my Thriller LP like it was going out of style.
It's sad his personal life overshadowed his talent these past years. And it's so annoying that these "news" shows that made his life miserable are now talking about how wonderful he was. Anything for ratings I guess ... it's outlets like those that give media a bad rep!

I loved Michael Jackson too. :sad1: I had posters of him all over my walls. I showed the kids some videos of his because they didn't really know who he was. So sad.

Even though I think he got weirder and weirder, I believe the people that sued him for all those bizarre things were just out to make a buck. They see someone with a ton of money and figure they can capitalize on that. (just like Kobe Bryant, like he would HAVE to force himself on someone, he could walk into any bar and have plenty of willing participants) People just want to make money off these famous people.

Tonight I have a Pampered Chef party and I told my friend I'd bake a couple of things so I'm bringing some raspberry bars and peanut butter pie. I'll just be home today, the weather here hasn't been very summer like - no sun! Today I see it a little but it's still cloudy! :headache: What a bummer. I'm usually super tan by now and instead I haven't been out in the sun at all! :sad2:

Off to make my PB pie!

Shelby - It has been sunny in NJ, what like 2 or 3 days out of this month? I'm so sick of the rain!!

Can't wait to sit on the lawn tonight in the probably pouring rain!

NKOTB's tribute from last night's show... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjHEf63LIzo&feature=player_profilepage

My girls are still watching MJ videos on BET. They have always listened to his music but the videos are so captivating for kids their age. Aubrey told me last night "wow, he sure has a lot of great songs". Yes, he does.

Shelby, I totally agree about those who have sued him. I think that he never had a chance to have a childhood and for that reason he found trouble fitting into an adult world. Enjoyed the carefree company of children and the parents of those children found an opportunity to make $$$.

I hope that people remember him for the amazing talent that he was and not for the bizarre personal life that he led. His influence has a hand in so many types of music today. What an amazingly gifted performer he was.

I'm still in shock about Michael Jackson's death. I wouldn't ever really call myself one of his biggest fans, but I LOVED him. As a kid, his music videos were always my favorites to watch. (Back when MTV and VH1 played actual music videos instead of 24/7 reality television.) To this day, I HAVE to watch Thriller every Halloween. I need to go dig out my dance recital DVD's from college...we did a Michael Jackson tribute and learned all the dances from Thriller, Billie Jean, and Beat It.

I had to step away from facebook today because there are some people that are REALLY annoying me. They keep posting status updates and comments like he was a rapist and should have gotten the death penalty years ago. I don't really know what to believe when it comes down to all the allegations against him, but I haven't ever been convinced he was guilty of all that was said. My personal opinion is, if you were a parent, and what you are accusing of him is ENTIRELY TRUE, wouldn't you want them punished to the fullest extent of the law instead of just settling for an undisclosed amount? I'm not even a parent and I would want to prosecute the pants of someone who allegedly did that to my child.

That being said, I do think that he had some problems. I think part of it stemmed from him being brought up in the music industry from such a young age. I think he lost a portion of his childhood and tried to relive/recreate it once he was an adult. Really just a tortured soul. Regardless, it was a sad day for the music world to lose such a revolutionary icon.

ETA: That being said....to everyone going to New Kids shows this weekend, have a FANTASTIC TIME.

Thanks for posting that tribute, Heather. It actually brought tears to my eyes!
I'm sitting here thinking my mom listened to him when she was younger, I was in love with him at a young age and my nieces all know who he is and the majority of his songs (ages 18, 15 and 8). It's kinda sad to realize that's the last of the generation who will remember him as a living legend.

Sometimes people are so full of hate. :sad2: And yes, as a parent there is no amount of money large enough to make me step back from prosecuting someone if they molested my child. I would in fact keep going until they were punished and received jail time. Settling out of court would not be an option.

So, what were your favorite MJ songs, everyone? I loved Man in the Mirror, Smooth Criminal, BAD, The Way You Make Me Feel, etc. How about you guys?

OK, so I have had BET on in the background as I do housework today. My two favorite songs have come on so far ... Don't Stop Til You Get Enough and Man in the Mirror.
Man in the Mirror is such an awesome song. If only more people would listen to those words and just "get it."
The Don't Stop video cracks me up. I'm thinking of him just dancing by himself in a studio in front of a green screen. "Hey everyone, let's add marbles in the background, that will be cool!"
I do have to confess, Thriller scared the c-wrap out of me when I was younger. My family would watch it and I would hide behind the couch. I was never scared of death until I saw that and it has stuck!

I don't know why, but it all just touched a nerve. I saw so many tasteless and crude comments and it set me off. The man just died! He has children that just lost their father. He was an AMAZING artist. It makes me sad sometimes to see what our society and culture has degenerated down into.

It's so hard to choose! Songs that I just love to hear are Beat It, Smooth Criminal, and Dirty Diana. As for videos, Thriller (of course), Black or White, and Remember the Time. Honestly, ALL his videos were great though. I loved to see all the choreography.

See that's how I always looked at it too. How could a parent take money from someone that hurt their child? What message would that be sending the child? Your innocence is worth this _____ amount of money?:confused3 I just don't agree with those that say it proved his guilt bc he paid the family off. I see it entirely the OPPOSITE way.

I truly love most, if not all, of MJs songs. Some of my faves would be: The Way You Make Me Feel, Remember the Time, Man In The Mirror, Beat It.

So I'm in a bit of a panic over what to wear on Sunday for the 5*. It's supposed to be really, really hot. I bought a summer dress. It's an empire waist, 100% cotton, black dress. It's flowy and tanked. Seems like it would be the coolest thing I could wear. I was thinking of just wearing flip flops with it. What do you guys think? I don't want to look dumb. I don't know why it's such a big deal. I guess bc I usually just throw whatever on and play with the kids. I don't normally wear cute clothes. :scared:

Sounds like a good idea to me. I wore a jean skirt, t-shirt, and flip flops to mine last week. You'll see a range of stuff. Everything from people in cotton shorts, homemade t-shirts, and crocs to mini skirts, stilettos, and skin tight tube tops.

I love PYT (though after seeing them 4 times, it will forever make me think of the Jabbas), The Way You Make Me Feel, Thriller, Beat It, Billie Jean, and Will You Be There (from the Free Willy soundtrack). I'm sure I left out of few.

Sounds cute to me! :thumbsup2 I'm sure you won't look dumb. Especially next to the call girl-esque outfits some other chicks will be wearing. :rolleyes1

Getting ready to head out the door to Cincinnati in just a couple hours! :cool1: I just found out that there is an after party at a bar in Cincy tonight. Not sure if Karen and I will try to go or not since we have our big 5* show tomorrow night and have a 2 hour drive back home tonight. Two nights in a row of Full Service!!! I made a sign on a camoflauge bandana that says "Double Your Pleasure, Double Your Fun with DDUB!" I also made myself a "badge" that says "DDUBS SOLDIER". I will take pictures, of course :)

Well I have good news and Bad news. The good news is that I am pregnant! But I was too sick to go to the concert on Friday. I had people calling me all night, no one could believe I would miss a NK concert! I was sad but it is for a great reason.

Some other news is that I am in the tour book / program :) Is is of course with a bunch of other pictures, but it is me and two of my friends with Donnie. We are wearing pink shirts. I think I may have posted the picture on here before.

I hope everyone going to concerts is having an amazing time! I am sure you are.

Congrats on the pregnancy!!

I have a quick ADR question for you guys...anyone eat at the castle for dinner? I got a ressie but someone said the food was crap. Have you guys had dinner there?
