Hi everyone! Just thought I would drop by and give an update on dh. We went to his doctor yesterday who had already seen the ultrasound of his gallbladder from the ER. He says there is definitely something there, so they are sending him to get a CT scan on Thursday morning (and we are supposed to have 24" of snow on the ground Thursday morning, ugh). Anyway, he says if what he see's is stones he will OK the surgery. I hope so because he had another attack last night and he was in such pain. I feel so bad for the guy. He was laying in the recliner in a fetal position and hitting himself in the head because he hurt so bad. So hopefully we will know something early next week.

We have snow heading toward us today. The school has already sent e-mails out saying they are letting the kids out early.

Speaking of kids. I told my dd who is 9 last night that I was going to get to meet the NKOTB, especially Jordan, and she just gave me this awful look. I asked her what was wrong and she said "You want me to be happy for you, but I don't even get to meet them". She was so serious. She really likes them a lot and wants to go to a concert. But I just don't know if I should take her. Would any of you let your kids go see NKOTB in concert. I saw a lot of kids at their show, but after I actually saw the show I was sorta glad that I didn't bring her.

Keeping your hubby in my thoughts. Boy, he is going through the ringer, poor guy!

While I'm not a parent, I'm not sure if I would bring a 9-year-old to the NEW NKOTB concerts. They aren't what they used to be, as far as bubble gum pop, ya know? The one thing that pops out in my head is "Grown Man." I think the occasional language is one thing, unfortunately kids hear that a lot more these days, but all those goods-grabbing ... my parents would have freaked out if they would have done that back in the day.

That's what I was thinking about. We watched them together on the AMA's and my husband walked in the room during one of the "grabs" and he was not happy at all that she had seen it. He would never let me take her. It's one thing for her to like the music, it's another for her to see them sing it. She doesn't understand right now but maybe someday I'll be able to explain it to her.

My dd5 has asked numerous times if she could go to a concert too. I never even considered if it was appropriate. My first thought was NO WAY only b/c I don't want to deal with potty breaks, I'm hungry, It's too loud, I'm bored......:rotfl2:

ETA: I've got 10 inches of snow outside my house right now. And it's still snowing. :crazy2:

I wonder how the kids would start looking at y'all if they saw you screaming like little girls, screaming "woo hoo!" at "grown men" or talking with others about how hot the guys are. :rotfl2:

Well here's a funny story at the expense of me looking like I belong on the crazy board.

When NKOTB made their 1st concert appearence on the Today Show on May 16th. DD was watching it with me. My hand is over my mouth and tears are streaming down my face. She asks "mommy why are you sad?" :rotfl: I try to explain to her that I'm not sad it's just that mommy hadn't seen them in forever, blah, blah, blah. She's like "but what's wrong" I quickly had to get a hold of myself and act all nonchalant.

Same thing happened in my house... I guess we should find our padded thread!!!:rotfl: But add to the mental picture me jumping up and down AND crying. My 4 year old thought it was fun and joined in.:rotfl2: Now she can't get enough Hangin' Tough, so I guess it worked in my favor!!!

First of all, oh my gosh, Crystal!! Your poor DH!!! I hope you get answers asap so your hubby will be able to get past all the pain! OUCH!!

Well, my DD5 has asked several times if she could come with me. I told her she has to be older, MUCH older. ;) I don't think it's an appropriate show for little kids. I agree, there's lots of grabbing, thrusting and some language. Heck, just Jordan's song alone is inappropriate. (And I LOVE IT!!!!)

Just yesterday Becca and I watched the DVR'd portion of the AMA's where they performed. She LOVES them and asked me to never delete it. I was like..DUH! Of course I won't ever delete it. :lmao:

She asked me if one of them had a crush on me like I have on them. I just told her the truth, of course..they totally want me. :rotfl2: Nah, I told her they don't know me. But I thought that was really cute.

And yesterday in the car I had the CD playing (certain songs I can't listen to when the kids are with me) and as soon as Single came on I heard Becca singing 'If you aint got no money...' over and over. It was a riot!

Crystal- I will keep you DH in my thoughts and prayers.

I love that she asked you if they like you as much as you liked them. :rotfl2:

I know I have probably posted this before but my DS8 sings single(remember he has very few words and only repeats (autism) so it is the cutest thing "you aint got no money.. I be you boyfriend" in his little kid voice- so super cute- Makes a MOMMY Proud (haha)
:goodvibes

Yes, everytime my little one (just turned 2) comes over to the computer when I'm on this thread he points to the NKOTB pics and says "o,o,o,o,o righ suff" Makes his mom so proud!

How cute!!! I just love kids and the things that they come up with. I don't know what my life was like before I had her.

Me too! I bet we skip the same ones! I'm sure we all do!

Just tonight dd and I was playing Disney's Think Fast on Wii and she starts singing...."I could just stare at you forever......" awwww princess:

Crystal - I hope you dh is feeling better soon.

I'm so glad to know I won't be there alone! :lmao:

Hey, girlies!! I'm just getting ready to head to the gym. I'll be back later and I have a big project planned. I'm cleaning our entire laundry room today. :scared: I may not make it out alive! Wish me luck!

I took my 10 year old son and he LOVED it...to me the "adult" things just goes over their heads and they just love the music and seeing the guys dance and I know Will just loved being a part of something that I loved so much!

I'm glad your son enjoyed it but I won't be taking my kids anytime soon. The last show I went to there were bras and other such things being thrown on stage. I just don't feel that my kids need to be there.

I just got back from my Group Power class. WOW, I am beat. It was REALLY hard today. My arms are going to be SO sore!!!

Any plans this weekend????

We have the Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts on Saturday (I wonder if Jordan's son will be doing it). ;) Then on Sunday we are going to a Super Bowl party.

I'm with you Shelby my daughter doesn't need to be seeing that kind of thing either. I want to keep her innocent for as long as I can.

You're doing great with the gym thing. Keep it up! You're inspiring me to keep mine going too, so thanks!

No weekend plans to speak of. My husband is going to Canada with some men from our church for a men's conference. He leaves tomorrow and won't be home until Sunday. So I have the house to myself. I have a huge wall in my house that I want to paint a different color than the rest of the room and use in for our family pictures, so I have to decided what color I want to use. We just built our house last summer so we're still getting settled and deciding what kind of "feel" we want. So I guess I do have plans........

Have fun at the derby and your Super Bowl party.

Since you asked...;) ...ours was last weekend and Jordan's son placed 2nd or 3rd in his group. He was happy. Of course, Jordan wasn't there...World Tour & all...!
I was talking to his wife at the PWD, and asking if she ever goes on tour. She was like "No way...it's crazy. I like my small town cocoon for me & the kids." Very down to earth.

Saturday, we are driving two hours to go see a friend. Poor guy went skiing in Colorado two weeks ago and on his first night, went for the twilight run and went off course onto a very advanced slope. He thought quickly when going too fast (on ice) and threw himself down, but still skidded into a tree and wrapped his leg around it ... in the direction legs are not supposed to bend. What is most painful is he is a veterinarian, thought quickly, and reset his leg right there, even though he was bleeding out. OOOWW!
A week or two in the hospital, many surgeries later, he is back home in Texas and going nuts since he is on bed rest. His wife is a nurse, so he is in good hands.
We all feel so fortunate he is still alive, much less back to his old self and joking about it! So, we are going to hang out with him for a bit. Bring him some homemade sugar cookies and some DVDs. Maybe we should bring him some ski attire too. hehe.
